John 3

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The lack of humility in those who incessantly talk of their obedience, love, works is telltale in and of itself.

No person walking this close with Christ would spend this much time pointing to themselves, and have such fleshly pride. They wouldn't have to, nor would they do it.

And you all argue with them day and night on here...lolzzz.
Fully agree and will say that Jesus argued with and rebuke the Pharisees every chance he had ;)

Fully agree and will say that Jesus argued with and rebuke the Pharisees every chance he had ;)
Mark 7:1-9, “And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim. And seeing some of His taught ones eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Yehuḏim, do not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders, and coming from the market-place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast – the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ Forsaking the command of YHWH, you hold fast the tradition of men. And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of YHWH, in order to guard your tradition."

Mat 23:23, "“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe the mint and the anise and the cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Torah: the right-ruling and the compassion and the belief. These need to have been done, without neglecting the others.”

New International Version - Mat 23:2-3, "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."

King James Bible - Mat 23:2-3, "Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not."

Shem Tob's Hebrew Mattithyah - Mat 23:2-3, "The Pharisees and Sages sit upon the seat of Mosheh. Therefore, all that he (Mosheh) says to you, diligently do, but according to their takanot (reforms) and thier ma'asim (precedents) do not do, because they talk (Torah) but they do not do."

Takanot: rabbinical reforms or enactments that falsely change or add to YHWH's Law.
Ma'asim: acts or deeds that serve as precedents for rabbinic law.
Both Takanot and Ma'asim are laws of the Talmud. The Savior said this to the Pharisees;

Mat 23:8, “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi, (master)’ for One is your Master, the Messiah, and you are all brothers.”

Matt 23:33, "Serpents! Brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of Gehenna?"

Yahshua EXPOSED the Pharisees and their false religious system EVERY CHANCE HE GOT. He did not sit by and let people lies many need to re-read the words of the Messiah, and see how He tore apart the lies of the accepted religious system of that day every chance He had, Is it possible we today have the same issue, where main stream religions are teaching tradition rather than truth?

Mat 15:7-9, "Hypocrites! Well did Isayah (29:13-14)* prophesy of you, saying: These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

*Isayah 29:13-14, "Therefore YHWH said: Because these people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their reverence to Me is taught by the precept of men; Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people; a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men, will be hid."

Oh, I see. John 3 is quoted to support bragging about one's self. Nothing in its context supports it, but, go figure.

Notice to this thread: After sending Decon a thank you for posting a simple, clear and true gospel, I was shocked but not surprised to get a rude and demeaning post from Seohce. I reckon Seohce is pronouncing this curse on me so the I have reported him and copied this verse for the Moderators to see. Also be warned if you happened to say something that Seohce does not like, you may get a post like this one from him.

Psalm 49:13-14 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.
Notice to Seohce: this post is, "Abusive and Rude", which is a violation of Christianchat.com rules. Your post has been copied and reported to the Moderator's. I will tell you again, "Cease and Desist", from responding to my post's, if you do not I will report you to the Moderator's again. And for the record you are not a very nice person.

My post to Decon, I was not even speaking to Seoheo, and he has been on my Ignore list for 3 or 4 months.

Hi Dcon...I must admit after reading the post from those who say they do not sin really did wear me down :(...
But today I know that if we were sinless like Jesus, why would God Himself be training us up, God gives us 24 hrs a day, He knows that in one day we will not be made like Jesus, He knows we have or have had unforgiveness in our hearts that only He can take away, it is a process, we are His workmanship, if we were all sinless, then we would need no guidance from the Holy Spirit

Sorry I have not used Scripture, but this is what I believe to be true...God is the potter, we are His clay, He is moulding us, He is changing us into His likeness, this sinless posting really unnerved me, I know we must not go back to our ways when we once walked in ignorance, we must not willfully sin, but we will all sin and fall short of His holy grace, thank God for His Son our Saviour, all the glory to God who keeps my mind straight through His promises...xox...

AMEN, and life's experiences, good and bad, is what makes our CLAY pliable enough, to be molded into the Vessel HE WANTS US TO BE.

Am thinking you may have this in reverse. Would not our conversion be receiving the divine nature? The Spirit of Christ? And then Pentecost, Holy Spirit baptizing with the power released and the giftings given to minister to both self and to men?
No, as it is our rebirth of God's seed that instills our new nature...God's nature.
That rebirth happens after our old man is crucified and buried with Christ. (Ro, 6:4)
The same verse then mentions our being raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
That new life is of God, and it has the divine nature we couldn't have in the old man.

Not sure why I am going over these, but am. In Christ Jesus is covering while receiving daily purging.
I get so uneasy when the code words come out.
But no matter what the words allude to you cannot deny that there is no sin in Christ, and we are (hopefully) in Christ.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

AMEN....believes HIM who sent JESUS (concerning JESUS) HAS ETERNAL LIFE>....NOT WILL HAVE but HAS
Quick question...
If someone believes that Jesus is the Son of a real God, why would they ever offend Him?
Sin shows unbelief.

Things like repentance from sin, water baptism, belief, faith, confession, prayer, study, resisting temptation, helping the needy, etc. are all works...to some.
But the lack of even one of these "blocks" will insure your destruction at the final judgement.
what scripture did you find that statement in?
Will you be deemed a "believer", or "in Christ", if you neglect any of those things?

Hi Decon, all of your post's here present a simple clear and true gospel which is how it is represented in the Holy Scriptures; to subtract from or add to what the bible say's about our eternal salvation is a sin. Thank you for your ministry and be well migo...:)
But according to that doctrine, sin doesn't matter.
What gives?

I read a lot of his posts. Can't figure out how it happened, but I know WHERE it happened. This thread.
Makes me wonder how many have been banned since this thread's been running.
Anybody have an idea?
Who were they?

does "having the Holy Spirit" = you on puppet strings, with no choice but to be the very finger of God on earth, in your flesh, 24/7 ?
No.
Having the Holy Spirit means the strings of the devil have been cut.
Those with the Holy Ghost can then adhere to the teachings of God, in peace.

Good luck with that one in light of the out bounding grace of God......^^^^^^^^^^^^the above is not from God and totally denies the fact that Christ has taken our sin, every sin, and his righteousness has been imputed by faith.......
People who offend God, have no faith.
He had apostle Paul write this..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)
He had the apostle James write this..."
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
He had the apostle Peter write this..."Werefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:" (2 Peter 1:10)
Why have they no "faith" that these verse are true?

herefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall

Yeah....your overall view is full of holes, error and man made dogma.......and denies many truths applied unto believers and unbelievers alike.....
It is a shame that you think for a second that God "left holes" in our ability to serve Him.
I assure you, He did not.

The bolded is false.......and the context is believers maintaining fellowship not salvation......more error in your dogma
You imply salvation without fellowship.
But then again, you imply salvation with sin.

I disagree with both...man made notions.

I have....maybe your should read....they were lost, he never knew them and like the sinless perfectionist Pharisee was still found in his sin because he refused to accept the cure by faith....anyone who has not trusted into Christ biblically will be found in iniquity.....wake up.....
It seems you sought a cure for the medicine and I sought a cure for the disease.
Everyone who trusts in Christ will have no iniquity to be found in.
Jesus conquered sin in the flesh, and the believers are in Him taking part in that victory.
There is no sin in Christ.
