Being born again is a prerequisite not a guarantee
Hmmm...ok. Well, hope you do enough to make it in (which will never happen).

Your statement is a reflection of doubt because you place the salvation of a soul dependent upon man.

The new birth is the guarantee, part of the golden chain of redemption which will come to its completion in glorification unto all truly converted; Romans 8:28ff. The sealing of the Spirit at this time is unto the day of redemption, decreed by God.

Do you have anything else to offer to cast doubt upon the finished work of Christ, and turn the end result over to what man must do?

I'm yet to find the words "UN-birthed," "UN-born again," "UN-regenerated," "UN-sealed with the Holy Spirit" or "lost salvation" in Scripture. ;)
Well 7-up is the uncola, so that's proof enough, right? I mean if a package of unsealed lasagna proves we can become unsealed from the Spirit isn't that also a valid illustration? :D

So Ananias and Sapphira died for what reason then?

Jesus and Paul said ALL liars do not enter in..

Dying for lying AFTER new birth they entered in?

Jesus finished His work not ours.. Nice try tho

what is the difference between a heretic and a brother or sister who lack understanding on an issue BASED on misinterpretation?
Technically, by definition, a heretic is simply someone who goes against accepted orthodoxy. Often the commonly accepted orthodox doctrine is just flat wrong. For example, Luther challenged the false but commonly accepted doctrines of his day, and so, by pure definition, he was a heretic.

But the way we throw the word around we mean it in it's negative connotation. It means someone who has departed from the truth and wandered off into error.

Who is the "them" who said this to you sister?
I'm beginning to think it must have been one of the people whose posts I just skip, because this does not sound like G7, me, EG, PennEd, SOF, NNMG or many others I have come to know here and I have not heard anyone say it to you.

I'm thinking one person must have said these things to you (and must be one whose posts I have learned to skip) and you are thinking everyone said them to you?
you misunderstand

I was responding to Meggido

however, I could name someone who told someone that if they did not go to church, they should have nothing to say

it's in this thread some pages back and I'm not going to snitch

same person is rude to many people

I don't know why you think I was talking about myself

I wasn't

You may never view another batch of leftover Lasagna in the refrigerator the same ever again, lol.

Just remember every time you 'seal' the lid on a bowl of left over Lasagna that 'seal' does not mean by definition 'unable to be unsealed'. It means it is sealed until it is unsealed.

Yep, "whosoever believeth".

The promises belong to those who are believing. That's why we need to keep believing.

Have you lied? Yep.

Let's apply your bad hermeneutic to you: you will not enter in. How's that?

Not enough time to straighten out your misunderstandings tonight, and you skip right past the fact that you place the salvation of souls in the hands of men.

Was the elderly mason sowing discord? Like do you believe he was intentionally trying to bring darkness?

im just curious because I know some are led astray by wolves in sheep clothing... but wonder about wolves and if they are there knowing they serve not the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through Faith in His Son and trying to disrupt those that do?
he was trying to control everything that happened and had inserted himself as some kind of spiritual mentor

he was not operating with the Holy Spirit but he was certainly operating

his methods were to sow doubt about people or try to get them to adopt suspicion about someone

I don't think he could help himself. that is the sad part of many who listen to something that is not the Holy Spirit and become influenced by it and by and by imagine themselves someone special who is going to have a 'big ministry'

even if you were right about grace77's gospel being false, which I Have yet to see you or anyone else lose prove after well over a year now of attacks prove, the fact you sinned against him destroys your ability to even talk about whether h is right or wrong, if nothing else it makes you look bad, and your message is lost because of the way your going at it,
You just lied thru your teeth. I have constantly proved his teachings wrong.

My guess that's the only way you can make him look good.

If I died while lying and justifying it? Yeah I'm flaming hot.. Your misunderstanding needs the correction. I'm quite clear

One of my mentors taught me that at times like this, you have to be the shepherd of the house and either restore or release the elder....I have done this myself only once.....The Bible says do not rebuke an elder, it does not say let evil continue from the elder...An evangelist friend of mine, once attempted to deliver a demon out of an elder right in the middle of service...he did not get stupid, emotional or anything...he felt the evil coming off the elder, walked up to him and whispered in the elders ear...do you like this thing or do you want it gone....the elder smiled very wickedly and my friend heard a voice say...oh we like him and he loves us and we are working well with him, to destroy this house...my friend whispered back in the elders ear...you can have him all you want demons, but you cannot and will not operate in this house of the Lord anymore, in the name of Jesus, go.....and do not ever return...the elder and his wife got up and left and never returned...turns out he was also a 33rd degree mason...

I see elder boards creating more power than the Pastor and that is simply wrong...The local Pastor is God's man for the house God places him in...elders by Biblical definition should not even be in the church.....They should preside and oversee the work of the local church...a great elder will train great pastors and that is because great elders should be former great pastors...

oh that's nice. yuck

this elder (same one) was once sitting a couple rows in front of me during a meeting. a friend was beside me

at one point, he turned around for no reason and glared at me and the look was not quite human

my friend got startled as she had seen it and she gasped at me 'what was that about'

I just said 'I don't know' but I did know. I seem to have that effect often enough. they don't like me

I had an interesting experience yesterday. I had to go out to do the laundry because we are currently waiting for our washer and dryer and this older man comes in with a woman and they begin to do laundry. He was talking pretty loud and started going off on Trump. that's typical enough, but his words were more than his opinions. it was a well rehearsed speech that many have said under the direction of things they don't know exist

I moved away because I was going to use the dryers. well, he and she came over to where I was, right behind me and off he goes again.

so I prayed and rebuked the thing and told it to shut itself down...quietly of course. do you know he stopped and began a different conversation and at one point he picked up something he thought I had dropped and politely handed it to me. I was like 'this is the real person'.

it turns out he dropped something and I picked it up and gave it to him and we exchanged smiles and thank yous

it's all around and going on all the time.

I skip over the posts of those who are always nasty after a while. I don't put them on ignore but I just have impatience to read them too much.:)

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you
were sealed in Him with the promised Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:13

Historically speaking a "seal" was a "mark" indicating a letter or scroll was closed or placed at the end to indicate it was completed or closed.

When a king or someone of high status wanted to place an identifying mark with a letter, he would seal it with a resin imprint of his ring.

The seal is not something that is opened or closed it is the signature of the Holy Spirit on our life at the moment of being born again.

To believe that God removes the signature/seal or has never placed the signature/seal is contrary to Ephesians 1:13

Well, we will as we see the hand of God in our life. It's not blind faith. My opinion of what blind faith is. Not sure what others think it is. :)

So whose work is it of to keep us believing?
