Yes it is true no doubt, just wondering if there is a new message since "is" seemed to imply there was more beyond what is in scripture.

Well Bill Clinton was a little confused on the word "is" so maybe I am too, always good to clarify. :)

He told me this morning, during our morning talk, that one of the issues we have in the church is that many leaders are trying to be popular and relevant with their congregations...God said, my son was not popular and neither where his disciples...he said I should start looking into the word on this topic and then exhort our people that we should never be driven by the need to be popular or relevant...

Praying, abiding and communing with Father is talking and.............listening............and discussing

I feel so much love now I fear I am going to cry... my heart is moved,
it opens to blossom like a flower in the sunshine of your love.

I used to wonder why atheists would complain about the emotional aspect connected to belief, as if there was something suspect about our feelings, when they would at the same time uphold the vagaries of evolution which by necessity also include our feelings. But no, they would say, feelings cannot be trusted, for they are but chemical impulses etc in the brain and I would ask, why then do you trust your thoughts, for they are not much more than chemical electro-magnetic etc etc impulses and the firing or neurons and synapses in your brain the same as you claim emotions are. They had no answer to that. Their pride of life was strong.

I remember one fellow went off at one point about how he figured he was better than God because he, the poster, believed he loved people unconditionally. Upon questioning him he admitted he was only able to love unconditionally those he already cared for, but he could not accept then that he was therefore not loving unconditionally! People are funny :p

If God is still speaking to us today ...what is He telling us?
Hi UnderGrace,

Nice to see you again.

Great question. First, He is our Teacher. He brings life to His written word. Remember, Scripture was written by the Spirit of God.

Next, Jesus said it was to our advantage He go. So that Holy Spirit could come.

John 16:5Now, however, I am going to Him who sent Me; yet none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6Instead, your hearts are filled with sorrow because I have told you these things. 7But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

8
And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; 11and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world already stands condemned.

12I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. 13However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.

Jesus confirms this idea saying:

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.

John later says:

1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.

Paul later informs us, we have the mind of Christ, and we are taught spiritual things as spiritual men. These spiritual things are taught by the Spirit of God.

Bless you! :)

As Holy Spirit doesn't contradict His written Scriptures, I think it's more accurate to say, He helps us apply His Scripture to ourselves and our lives.

Please remember this Scripture here:

2 Co 3:3And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

He is writing on the tablets of our hearts. We are written letter from God Himself to those around us. Our lives are a testimony and a witness to Him.

Bless you!

He fulfilled the law by keeping it perfectly and then offering Himself up as a ransom for many, by paying the price for sin required under the law which is death. This was God's plan from before the foundation of the world. Only those who truly surrender their self will to God's will can accept what others see as the foolishness of the gospel. This too is accomplished by the working of the Holy Spirit of God in our lives, for the natural man cannot accept the things of God. Coming to believe is among the first of many steps...
Those who surrender their self will to God's will...

Sounds good.
Do we all do this??

Does God will that Christians call others unpleasant names, such as
dishonest
liar

Let me take this even a bit further...
IF it were TRUE, it shouldn't be said to persons you do not know personally.

There is much to learn if we're to call ourselves Christian.

If they are works of the Spirit they are not our works.We are not saved by our works,anything we do apart from Christ to find favor with God,but only by accepting Christ,and Jesus said seek you first the kingdom of God,and His righteousness.

Faith alone,not saved by works,when we confess Christ,for we are in the flesh and that is all we can do.

Faith without works is dead,and a person is justified by works,and not faith alone,after they receive the Spirit,for they have to do works of the Spirit,which work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,for many are called but few are chosen.

No person says Jesus is Lord,but by the Holy Ghost,and a person that confesses Jesus Christ is come in flesh is of God,which many people claim that who do not believe in OSAS,so God must be working in their life,but many are called but few are chosen.

God said He wants all people to be saved,and Jesus takes away the sins of the world,and lights every person that is born in to this world.

The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world,the prophets blood shed from the foundation of the world,although they were future events.The saints have salvation in the beginning,and that is to whoever accepts it in the future,so it is the same as if they have that salvation in the beginning,for God calls things that have not happened yet,as though they already happened.

God wants all people to be saved,for He said it,and many are called but few are chosen.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation(does not sin): for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Righteousness is as righteousness does.

Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
(Exodus 7:10-12)

so must the Son of Man be lifted up

with no context to the bible , the only problem, you will face is truth, when did death think there was a ressurection,
and why has it not learned death is not the end.

or when did death learn to read books, if it could read, then it already know its toast. so why continue like the unbeliever. \0/ pea brain logic is hard to find.

More scriptures prove eternal life based entirely upon belief.....

Berean Study Bible
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Berean Literal Bible
For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.

New American Standard Bible
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

King James Bible
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Have you blasphemed the Spirit?
Have you fallen away from the enlightenment of the Spirit?
Have you taken the mark of the beast?
Have you willfully gone back to your old life of sin and unbelief?

The Bible says grace can not reach the person who goes to these places. There is no way back to God for the person who goes to these places. There is no "beacon of light to lead me back to the truth" for the person who commits the sins listed above.

You can't make grace reach a place that God has made clear it can not and will not go. You're deceiving yourself if you think grace goes where God himself says it will not go.
Ah finally, someone knows where grace will not go. Please enlighten us. BTW, let me preempt you with if blaspheming the Holy Spirit is going to be your answer please include full description of what that entails.

Do you actually want an answer to all these questions?

Or are they just rhetoric for your platform?

Gonna go back and number them.....12 questions ...some with premises I disagree with, but we could discuss them all if you wish. However if you think you already know how I will answer, then I won't bother.
Sorry Ariel for asking so much questions. I don't mean to bother you that much so I'll just settle on one question; do you believe that a believer should do exactly what God has commanded him to show our love for God. There are lots of good interpreters here that could be of help to interpret this verse, john 14:31. Thanks Ariel and God bless.

I notice the lawyers and workers for are still failing to interpret the words of Jesus in light of the fact that he was born, lived and died under the LAW which ratified the NEW COVENANT.....
The most astounding thing about the legalists is that they seem not to understand the concept of "covenant" - a contract by any other name!
Neither do they understand that if one is NOT a party to a covenant (contract) then one is under no obligation to it!
And, they seem especially ignorant of WHO the parties to the New Covenant were, and what its terms were!
(Hint: no human being is a primary party to this covenant, human beings are only beneficiaries of this covenant!)

Please excuse me........I still laugh out loud when I see this:

Regarding the assembling of ourselves, besides Hebrews 10:24-25, I also had found this which is in the Didache, written and taught by the Apostles most probably by the year 95 AD. :

1. On the Lord's Day of the Lord come together, break bread and hold Eucharist, after confessing your transgressions that your offering may be pure;
(part XIV)

and

2. But be frequently gathered together seeking the things which are profitable for your souls, for the whole time of your faith shall not profit you except ye be found perfect at the last time;
(part XVI)

I don't know if someone mentioned Acts 20:7. Paul broke bread on the first day of the week, which was Sunday.

And Ignatius of Antioch, a student of John the Apostle said this:

Ignatius of Antioch

If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death—whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master
(Letter to the Magnesians(shorter) Chapter IX.—Let us live with Christ [A.D. 110]).

During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathæa had laid Him. At the dawning of the Lord’s day He arose from the dead, according to what was spoken by Himself, “As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” The day of the preparation, then, comprises the passion; the Sabbath embraces the burial; the Lord’s Day contains the resurrection
(The Epistle of Ignatius to the Trallians Longer Versions. Chapter IX.—Reference to the history of Christ.)
I knew that the earliest disciples met on Sunday's, and why. And the reasoning is sound. I have no qualms against it. What I rail against is the Catholic church that literally changed the Sabbath day to Sunday. Even making it against church law to observe the Mosaic Sabbath.

The point being, there is no new literal Sabbath day. It's still the 7th day of the week, not the first. The Catholics actually think they have the authority to pass judgments such as these. We're free to worship the resurrection on the first day, but to call it the (new) literal Sabbath day is a joke. You prolly agree. Saturday is still Sabbath day. We just don't HAVE to observe it anymore.

But anyway, nice information. I learned from it.

Hey, wait...not so fast...

"for the whole time of your faith shall not profit you except ye be found perfect at the last time"

Blasphemer! Off with your head. We will have none of this 'you can lose your salvation stuff around here'!

Hi Desert,

The Scripture you quoted says, "man lives by every word that proceeds out of His mouth..." not proceeded.

God is still speaking today. His Holy Spirit is our teacher.

Romans tells us, faith comes by HEARING... not by having heard... there is a continual relationship with God who is life that produces life in us.

God hasn't changed, but how He chooses to deal with men has changed.

I agree there are some beautiful gems in the OT. Predominately though the OT showed us why we need Christ, the NT shows us who we are in Christ.
Hi Cee,

I agree that God's word is fresh. God speaks to us today in many ways......through the Spirit.....through His word OT and NT, here through one another. I'm not denying that at all.

We can't limit God and we can't say that the OT scriptures have no value today. There are many OT scriptures that are part of the NT and are commanded to obey today.

Hi again Desert,

Yes the ordinances of the law are written on the cross. The Law is still in effect for those who are not in Christ, but for those in Christ the law has been brought to an end.

I will show you:

2 Co 3:7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,

Notice the following:
- The Law written on stone (10 commandments)
- Is the ministry of death... (Produces death because of sin in us)
- Is brought to an end.

I know a lot of people believe that the law that is abolished is not the 10 commandments. And they point to Jesus says He didn't come to abolish it, but to fulfill it. And that's true. He fulfilled it because LOVE fulfills the entire law. But for those in CHRIST we are dead to the law of sin and death.C.

Amen, we no longer are under the law, but under grace. The law is now written on our minds and hearts so that we can obey and want to obey. That doesn't mean we won't sin.

That's why there's no more condemnation, when we sin and repent and confess our sin, God is faithful and just to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The law couldn't set us free from the law of sin and death, only Jesus can. Jesus condemned sin through his death by becoming a sacrifice for sin for us.......He condemned sin so that the requirements of the law can be met in us.......in those who walk by the Spirit and not according to the flesh.

Before, being under the law, all the law could do was reveal our sin to us, it could not free us from that sin, only Jesus sets us free from the bondage to sin.

Romans 8 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

~~~~~
We are set free from the law of sin and death so that we can now please God and obey the righteous requirements of the law which are now written on our hearts and minds by the grace of God and not by the letter of the law, but by the Spirit of the law.
Why are people 'liking' this post above?????
I listed the four things that the Bible says grace will not cover in the post you're responding to. How did you miss it?
