That's why I work out, so people who don't think I'm healthy won't have to worry.
Where does hearing come from and what does it produce?
Being pricked in the heart...what is that all about? Who works at the level of the heart?
You are still surmising and cannot see it.

Remember, faith comes from hearing.

Not faith comes from surmising.

Physically no. But Noah did believe God. He was already saved spiritually. But if Noah had not acted, neither could it be said that he believed God.
You are conflating what is true of physical salvation and spiritual.
Essentially you hold to the belief that one who believes will always obey.

And those who don't act are those who do not believe.

This is your story.

Am I correct?

Jesus had harsh words concerning those who call another a fool...Matthew 5:22. Why doesn't it bother you that you're actions demonstrate a lack of love and are void of spiritual fruit? We are taught to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith, and not others. Perhaps if the log in your eye were removed you could clearly see me?
Your beef is not with Lamar but with James.

It is a good sign that this rebuke stings, it is a indication that your heart may still be soft enough to repent of the foolishness of faith alone theology.

James is not calling you a fool.

He is calling the notion of believing faith without deeds being biblical as foolish.

Obedience is needed for both.

It is you who is conflating obedience and assistance.

Cameron, stop being foolish!

You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without works is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. James 2:20-24
Lamar

stop being foolish

Having begun in the spirit. now being perfected in the flesh (works)

Gal 3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Again, If you all want to save yourself by works of the flesh (water baptism) feel free.

do not let us stop you

But heed the warnings because there will come a time when it will be too late

But that's the thing, I'm not troubled by works. They are to be expected of someone who has become a new creation. I just don't have people doing things they don't believe.
And you are the 2nd person to defend unrighteousness behavior. That is your work. You don't believe his actions were sinful. Do you suppose @Lamar was loving me and attempting to edify me with his post?

The thief died while the OT was still in effect. The command to repent and be water baptized in the name of Jesus pertains specifically to those living after Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

Scripture reveals the high priority God sets on obedience:
"If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:
But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers....And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (1 Sam. 12:14-15; 15:22)

The problem with that approach is that Peter, at Pentecost, did not tell the crowd to repent, then make a choice whether to be baptized.
They asked the question... "men and brethren, what must we do?"

Peter's answer..... "repent and be baptized...." no choice offered or suggested.

It's not a choice.... it's obedience to God's will....

Actually yes he did

Repent ya (old english plural form of you) and let every one of you (singular)

even the old english bibles get it right.. That the command to be baptized is sent to individuals. not everyone in the crowd
