Galatians 6:12
As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
The Cross always brings persecution, even if it is initially only in the form of relationship friction, criticism or simply rejection. This is why those of you who have come back to the Way of the Cross have experienced among your families and co-workers those very things. Once you realize that you are nothing but wretched before God and you come back to the only answer God offers, there will always be problems among those who do not know how wretched they are, and yes I’m speaking of Christians (Revelation 3:17). Until we desire to live for God and realize that at our best we remain wretched, THEN only through faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ will He bring us, NOT around the sin in our lives, but through it in His victory.
The Galatians were being tempted to be circumcised, and being told that if they were not, they were not really saved (Acts 15:1). How many are being not only told today that if they do not do this or do that they cannot be saved, and how many are being told that there is a separate avenue of God’s power for deliverance and blessing than the same Way in which He saved us? Are you sitting under a minister who does not know the DAILY WAY of Sanctification, and victory over sin is the Cross? You are if he isn’t preaching it. 99% of all Christians that are FAITHFULLY in Church are NOT hearing the Scriptures preached and taught in the Light of Christ and His Redemptive work at Calvary. This letter to the Galatians is MORE relevant today for God’s people than ever before. Come back to the Cross, and yes it will cost you greatly, but the gain is FAR better than the Loss!!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a “whosoever will” gospel. God has not chosen some people for salvation and other people for eternal destruction. So “whosoever will” can be saved. As well, God has opened the door wide for every born-again believer to be conformed into the image of Christ. Some approach this privilege and responsibility with a great desire to be changed. They learn the process of keeping their faith in Christ and Him Crucified in order to receive the grace that transforms them into His image. Other believers do not count the opportunity to be changed as a priority and their dedication, consecration, and lack of sanctification is evidenced to those who know them. Experiencing sanctification also belongs to “whosoever will.” Some people falter and stumble during a test or a trial. The difficulty causes them to release their faith and they allow their trust in Christ to crumble. But there are others who will fight the good fight of faith through every circumstance and trial of life. God's grace is able to equip us in every situation. All that He asks is that “whosoever will” might learn to trust Him in every circumstance, whether it be in salvation, sanctification, or through a fiery trial.
Revelation 22:17 - And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Galatians 6:13
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
Everywhere you go where the message of the Cross isn’t the centerpiece of ministry and constantly pointed to using Scriptures, there is only Law and works and everyone is trying to be like everyone else. The Judaizers were only attempting to get the Galatians to “Be like them”, as there was no true concern for their proper spiritual state with God, for they themselves weren’t right with Him. When we are not striving together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27), we are striving for fleshly endeavors, and it matters not if we know it or not. God will NEVER honor anything of the flesh.
This is the epitome and praise among most all of the Church today. To make people like themselves. “Come, let us make a name for ourselves.” When we are found searching as the people of God for what God is going to send to deliver me from my sin or to pour out of His Spirit for what He’s called me to do, He will surely send you the messenger of the Cross. When this Way and focus is rejected, there remains nothing but corruption and destruction, for this is to deny Him and He has promised that when He is denied, He will deny (2 Timothy 2:12). Come back to the Cross and find all of that which you have been seeking everywhere else for!

Bread Crumbs “The Primary Relationship” October 19
For the believer, there is one relationship that determines the health and longevity of every other relationship. If the believer’s relationship with Christ is secure, ongoing, and growing, then it is fairly reasonable to assume that the relationship with others will be strong. The reason behind this is simple. When we as individuals are drawing life from our relationship with Christ, then we are being equipp...ed by the Holy Spirit with the love, grace, patience, and long-suffering that is needed to successfully build and maintain any other relationship. When we try to gain happiness solely through a relationship with another human being, we will wind up with an emptiness in our soul. Instead of providing life for the one we love, we will attempt to draw life, until that other person has nothing left to give. Frustration, anger, and confusion are the end result. That person that we counted on to bring us life cannot supply it, nor we to them. When our relationship with Christ is the source from which we draw life, we will be filled with grace. We will have everything we need to share with someone else. Give priority to your relationship with Christ and your relationships with others will have the foundation to succeed.
Luke 10:27 - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
...
The Word of God given to us through Paul in this letter to the Galatians tells us that GOD FORBIDS that we glory/boast in anything other than the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, because it is that which saved us, separated the world from us and us from the world, and through which ALL THINGS come from the Lord to us. All sin committed and the Sin Nature itself is of this world, and knowing that faith in the Cross is the only avenue through which God delivers us from the domination of the Sin Nature, our boast should be in the Cross of Christ daily. When we are told to try harder, or to do this or to do that for Salvation or Deliverance, we just need to deny ourselves/our flesh/ and cling to that saving Truth of Christ and Him crucified.
In years past we have boasted/trusted in the Purpose Driven Life, Purpose Driven Church, The Promise Keepers, The 40 days of this or the 40 days of that, the got to be covered by this or covered by that, the words we speak, etc…, while only tightening the chains of the Sin Nature in our lives. Doesn’t matter if you agree or not, for most of the Church in Galatia probably didn’t either, but if one’s faith isn’t exclusively in the Cross of Christ, the Sin Nature is dominating them even if it is now in RELIGIOUS PRIDE, which is above all, the worse and most subtle deception that exists. Time is running out for the Children of God to be able to come back to the Cross, for most haven’t throughout past generations, for they have been too controlled by what other people would think of them. Come out from among THEM today!

Bread Crumbs “The Need for Justification” October 20
Justification is God's legal declaration of the believer’s innocence. Whenever a believing sinner accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, the legal work of justification is instantly applied to their life. The reason that God chose to make our salvation a legal work is simple. No man could ever be justified by their works. God established justification so that faith in His Son, expressed by whosoever will, would allow that individual to be declared legally innocent. What many Christians fail to realize is that justification is not lost when we stumble or fail. The reason that justification exists as the foundation stone of our relationship with Christ is that, when we fail, God does not have to eliminate us from His Kingdom. Every one of us are continually falling short of the glory or perfection of God. His standard of righteousness demands perfection. When I fail, the doctrine of justification does not excuse my sin. However, its being present allows me to get back up from my stumbling with the assurance that God will not throw me away. Justification is not an excuse to live in sin, it serves as a guarantee that I will have an opportunity to learn how to rise above sin after I fall. Thank God for His never-ending grace!
Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Galatians 6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Now to say this back in that day was HUGE, and greatly disputed because Salvation came through the Jewish nation as a promise of God and sent in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ! This nation had to have all of their son’s circumcised on the eighth day as a sign of the seal of Righteousness (Romans 4:11) that God began with Abraham (Genesis 17:23-27). Of course being circumcised didn’t save them, but was a sign of the seal of Righteousness they had accounted to them through their faith in the promised Redeemer that would come and save them from their sins.
Of course when Jesus showed up, we see how little their circumcision mattered because they rejected Him, desiring that the Romans crucify Him. This alone should prove that circumcision avails/profits NOTHING, nor does not being circumcised. It’s NOT what we do that avails, but that which we BELIEVE, for it is EXCLUSIVELY believing with the heart unto His Righteous work at Calvary that makes us a new creature in Him (Romans 10:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17). Through the Cross of Christ alone do we experience the availing power of the Holy Spirit.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the Law; you are fallen from Grace (Gal. 5:4).
The idea of this Verse is that the Galatian Christians, by putting themselves under Law, have put themselves in a place where they have ceased to be in that relation to Christ where they could derive the spiritual benefits from Him which would enable them to live a life pleasing to Him, namely, through the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. In depriving themselves of the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the living of the Christian Life, they have “fallen from Grace.”
To “fall from Grace” refers to the Believer placing his faith in something other than Christ and the Cross. It really doesn’t matter what the “other” is. The person has placed himself in a position where the Holy Spirit cannot work satisfactorily in their life; therefore, the flow of Grace stops.
Grace is the Goodness of God extended to undeserving Believers. It is superintended by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit Who makes all of these good things possible in our hearts and lives, but the Source is Christ and the means is the Cross.
Most Christians think that “falling from Grace” refers to one committing a great sin. That is correct, but not as they think! It is a great sin for any Believer to forsake Christ and what He has done for us at the Cross, thereby placing his faith in something else. Considering the price that Jesus paid at the Cross, one certainly can realize what an insult such action is.
I once heard two Preachers on Television discussing another person who had grievously failed the Lord by committing an appalling sin of the flesh. They concluded that the commission of this grievous sin constituted “falling from Grace.”
No! It didn’t. No! It doesn’t.
While sin is a most horrible and terrible thing, and will always have dire consequences, the person who does such is the one who desperately needs the Grace of God, and, if proper Faith in Christ and the Cross is evidenced, he will always be the beneficiary of such Grace (I Jn. 1:9). Those two Preachers, actually, were the ones who had “fallen from Grace,” because neither one of them pointed to the Cross of Christ as the Object of Faith, but rather to works of many and varied kinds. Tragically, due to the fact that the Cross has been so little preached in the last several decades, most in the modern Church belong to the same category.
Every single Believer on the face of the Earth must have a continued, uninterrupted flow of the Grace of God, i.e., “the Goodness of God,” in order to live a victorious life. Without it, it simply cannot be done. To have that uninterrupted flow, all one has to do is to simply place his Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross (Rom. 6:1-14). This will not guarantee that such a Believer will never again fail, but it does guarantee that such a Believer is on the right path, and will ultimately come out to a total and complete place and position in Christ to where sin no longer has dominion over such a person (Rom. 6:14).

Bread Crumbs “Dwelling in His Presence” October 21
Learning to rest in the presence of the Lord is the secret to a life of peace. In this life our hearts are ever burdened with the cares of everyday living. Even when we do not mean to, we can spend an inappropriate amount of time focusing on what we do. Those in ministry must be careful not to perceive that the functions we perform for God are the same thing as a relationship with God. We can easily get lost in a maze of religious activity and fail to seek the presence and company of the Lord. It surely is not wrong to approach the throne with our needs pertaining to our work for the Lord. But when we fail to approach Him consistently, exclusively for the sake of relationship, a vital aspect of our Christian experience lies neglected. Sooner or later this lack of intimacy with the Lord will take its toll. Like Martha, Lazarus’ sister, we become burdened down with the doing of religion and we fail to simply sit at His feet and be comforted by His voice and His presence. The only place that we will ever find fulness of joy, that truly meets the need of the soul, is when we are in the presence of the Lord!
Psalm 140:13 - Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
Galatians 6:16
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
“This rule” refers to a boundary or the sphere where there is activity, and we see that exact thing in this text. Where God’s people will come out from all the false things and back to the determined place to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified as the only object of faith God has offered the entire human race, there will be the EXPERIENCE of His peace and mercy among them. The main question today is, “Are we doing what we are doing because we are in an attempt to please God or man?” Most always it is man!
Verse 14 says that God FORBIDS that we glory/boast/trust in anything other than the Cross of Christ, and this is surely the RULE, the boundary and sphere where the activity of the Holy Spirit is found, for all else is only what WE SAY the Holy Spirit is doing. God says He only works IN THE TRUTH (Psalm 33:4, Romans 8:2), and the Truth is Christ and His work at the Cross (John 8:32). When you get READY TO COME OUT from among the congregation or the group of preachers your bound to because of how hard you have worked to get there or how long this particular piece of land or this particular building has been in your family heritage, the Lord welcomes you back to this RULE OF THE CROSS, and will show you that His activity in 5 minutes will be more than we’ve done on our own in 5 years. Come back to the Cross today!

There is never any need to doubt this truth, that God is involved and interested in everything that pertains to you and me. The scripture declares that we are inscribed upon the palms of His hands. And again, that God's thoughts about us are as many as the sands on the seashore. Consider the last time you walked along a sandy beach. Could you have counted the grains of sand underfoot? The Bible says that God’s eyes are everywhere. He describes Himself as an all-knowing and an all-seeing God. And again, the Bible declares that God is watching over His children, attentive to their needs, hearing their cries, and counting their tears. There is absolutely, positively, zero amount of doubt as to whether or not God knows right where you are at this very moment. All evidence points to the truth that God is already working things together for your good. His mercy towards us is limitless. His faithfulness knows no bounds. And He has promised to watch over and care for every single thing in our lives that concerns or pertains to us. It is good to know that I always have God in my corner!
Psalm 138:8 - The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
Galatians 6:17
From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Paul was saying to the Saints there in Galatia to stop accepting what the Judaizers were offering, and to drop all the controversies that were doing nothing but troubling him. He tells them that he carries in his body the very marks from persecution that came from trusting in and preaching the Lord Jesus Christ, and Him alone. His mind was single, and theirs needed to be also, and once you have offered that which is right according to God’s Word, we are told to shake the dust off of our feet and move on (Matthew 10:14; Mark 6:11; Luke 9:5) as a testimony against them.
We preach Christ and Him Crucified NOT AND the whole counsel of God, but AS THE whole counsel of God just as The Apostle Paul did, for there alone will we EXPERIENCE all that comes from the Lord. All else is make believe and fake receive religion with the name of Jesus tagged on it. Jesus is the Door to God, but the Cross is the hinge, just as He is the Light of the world, but the Cross is the switch that turns that Light on. Without faith in the Cross, we have removed ourselves from Him (Galatians 1:6, 5:1-4). This is the very reason for this letter to the Galatians. To bring their obedience back to The Truth (Galatians 3:1), for outside of faith in the blood, there is no faith in ANY OF GOD’S WORD that He will accept (Exodus 24:6-8). Cling to the Cross of Christ!
