Hi. It is nice to meet you David.
And you too Jacob :)

I believe that we have been sanctified.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by "sanctified" in this case (like most words, sanctified has more than one meaning, even in the Bible). Thanks! I ask because having a mutual understanding of the terminology that we're using is (obviously) extremely important to discussions like this one, especially in a format like this one.

There is no third person of the Trinity because there is no Trinity.
I disagree, but I'm also confused, because I don't remember discussing the Trinity with you

The new covenant is for Israel.
I'm not sure why you believe that's true. For the sake of the discussion, please tell me/us what you believe the "New Covenant" is. Thanks again :)

I do not believe in Communion.
I'm not sure what you mean by "believe in" Communion  If you mean that the wine and the bread do not become the literal body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, then I agree with you (or do you mean something else altogether)

Thanks :)

God bless you!!

In reading Jeremiah 31:31-33 I learn that there is to be a new covenant with the house of Israel. I don't think that that relates to me as a Gentile
As I said, read and study the New Testament. Which you have not done otherwise your response would not be so quick.

It is something that happened in Jesus. I don't understand it.

It was a tab that came up. It may have been a link in one of the pages. I don't know because I didn't click on any links.

I don't know what the new covenant is. I would read Jeremiah 31:31-34.

I agree with that, but I meant that I do not take communion because I believe it to be an unbiblical practice.
God bless you!!

I have read the New Testament many times. But I don't call it the New Testament. I call it Matthew through or to Revelation.
There you go. Since the New Covenant is embedded in the New Testament (which could also be called "the New Covenant") you have already shot yourself in the foot. So now you can either decide to learn from other Christians, or remain willfully ignorant.

If you are a fellow Christian I can learn from you.

I do not take communion because I believe it to be an unbiblical practice.
Luke 22:19-20
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying,
“This cup that is poured out for you
is the new covenant in my blood."

Yes. Was this at Passover?

In church they has a communion, the lord's supper, the lord's table. No Passover.
Passover was for the Jews, in remembrance of their freedom from bondage and escape from Egypt...
a foreshadowing of the coming of Christ as our Passover Lamb, that we may escape the second death.

Not only those who were native born, but all who were circumcised and had joined the covenant. But there is a new covenant for Israel now.
Into which we are grafted, without all the encumbrances of ritual and law entailed in the OT.

No. We are as Gentiles the wild olive.
Grafted in. Romans 11:11-19

11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. In as much then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. 15 For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”

Wasn’t this dude a gentile…

8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

And he hasn’t even been walking around with Jesus.

Yes, he is a Gentile. You are correct that he was not with Jesus.
