Matthew 16:28
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

the Kingdom is here - the body is the temple of God. 1 Corinthians 3 and yet we are told to hasten the day. what could that mean? John 14:23

Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

Paul is referring back to 1 Thessalonians = the First Letter he wrote to them.

Did you read 1 Thessalonian slike i asked you days ago? - easy short reading

If you did not, please do so that your understanding may increase as to the Will and Plan o God.
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Okay, so why are there people standing there that day that will "see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."?

Why was JESUS overly dramatic if there was only a few days until His Transfiguration, with Matthew 16:28 saying "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."?

There were three who saw Him in His kingdom in the very next scene.

Matthew 17:1-2
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

^ These three men saw Messiah come into His kingdom 6 days after He said some would. The quintessential characteristic of the Messiah's visible kingdom is shining like the brightness of the sun, in the glory of the Father and the angels, needing no sunlight and experiencing no night. Notice Moses and Elijah were also shining in the vision. Paul even speaks about the different glories of the celestial versus the terrestrial.

Been reading. The kingdom is displayed with glory (the saints shining). No one is shining right now. This now isn't His kingdom come.
You want glowing Saints? Are you saying we haven't had any in the past?

You are so right. No believers, are in their glorified body, right now. At least upon this earth.

The "Mount of Transfiguration", was the fulfillment of Mat.16:28. It was a "foretaste" of the future Kingdom. This thread has a strange title: If The Kingdom isn't here yet then what is JESUS CHRIST a King of? It would seem to indicate, that a King stops being a King when He is away from His Kingdom. A King is a King is a King.

Too many people, ignore several key verses about the Kingdom. If the Kingdom was present at Christ's first advent, then what did this verse in the parable mean?

Luke 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

The Kingdom was in the hands of the Father and will be given to the Son. It will be established upon His return.

Additionally, why did the Disciples/Apostles not know of it's establishment? After all the years, of sitting under our Lord's teachings, they asked:

Acts 1:6 They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, Will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

If they had misunderstood the teachings of Christ, on the subject of the Kingdom, surly He would have corrected them. Instead He said:

Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within His own authority.

This seems clear to me, believers were still waiting upon the Kingdoms fulfillment. Would you not agree?

Why do you think all the paintings of Saints have a Halo?
Please don't reference those heathen images.

Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

The Covenant with the Nation of Israel was conditional on their obedience. The Covenant with Abraham through JESUS was Everlasting.

490 years of ignoring the Rest of every Sabbatical year ...let slaves go ...they cared too much about money ...the beast system.
490 years of Daniel's 70 weeks ...there is no gap, GOD doesn't extend His Prophecy Times.

Daniel knew why the curse was on them.

Right before the 70 weeks in the same Chapter:
Daniel 9:11
Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

Deuteronomy 28:45
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

1 Corinthians 2:14
New King James Version

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2 Corinthians 3:14-18
New King James Version

14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as [a]by the Spirit of the Lord.

The bible is like a foreign alien language to people, that don't have the Holy Spirit. I assume more than 99% of the world's population are nonelects. God will only give the Holy Spirit to God's elects.

Isaiah 24:23
The moon
will be confounded and the sun will be ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.

Isaiah 60 19
The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

Dan 12:2-3
And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

Matthew 13:43
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Like Awelight posted, the Messiah is the nobleman who goes away first to receive His kingdom and then to return. The people incorrectly thought the kingdom of God would be immediate. But the Messiah explains that He returns with His kingdom.

The glorious, immortal body (i.e. transfiguration) promised to the saints WILL BE the kingdom come. Until then, those who are His are now representatives of His coming kingdom.

2 Corinthians 5:20
Now
then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

[ambassador - an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country. ]

This world is the "foreign country" and we are ambassadors of the coming kingdom until the King arrives. There is a timing to the kingdom. The King arrives after the saints are persecuted by the beast.

Daniel 7:20-22
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

So this now isn't the kingdom come...though the time is fast approaching.

When the Lord Jesus rose from the grave HE demonstrated the Kingdom of God which was HIS power to Resurrect HIMSELF.

This sealed the Deal once and for all of His Authority and Kingdom and Power.
Now everyone knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is the same LORD of Genesis thru to Moses and the Prophets.
HE is King and Ruler over Sin and Death and LIVES Forevermore.
