Genesis 5:3-5 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.

It's really better to avoid making dogmatic statements when you don't know the facts. :)

That's your opinion, and I disagree with you. ;)
I see you pinpointed out one particular phrase and not even the correction that I made on it. Shows your deceitfulness. My statement is concerning the age of Adam before he sinned. And I reported your insulting manner.

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Age of Universe = 6 days + Biblical Genealogical Record + 2000, which adds to 6,000 years. If "science" excludes God's supernatural creative power, then it deserves no mention in this thread.

anything other than what the Written Word of God says.
So according your answer of using the scripture you have given and and you're saying man in the universe are the same age - that would mean that according to your views man and the universe was created on the first day. Man was created on the sixth day - so they cannot be the same age. Nice chatting with you - write whatever else you feel - I have nothing else to say.

Then you have no understanding of how this forum works.

I responded to your post BEFORE I saw the correction. There was neither deceitfulness nor "insulting manner" on my part.

I see you prefer to be ridiculous than to allow for reasonable conflation of time descriptions. When we are talking about something thousands of years old, we don't say, "X thousand years and six days"; that's just silly.

Carbon dating cannot go beyond about 6,000 years: "half the mass of carbon-14, an unstable isotope of carbon, will decay into nitrogen-14 over a period of 5,730 years." So that is where our focus should be.
You have the fact of carbon-14's half-life correct, but your interpretation of it is incorrect.

One half-life is 5,730 years, two is 11,460, three is 17,190, etc. Carbon dating is ineffective beyond about 100,000 years because the residual amounts are so small. It's the foundational assumptions that render radiometric calculation unreliable as a dating method.

That is about the time of the death of Noah and birth of Abraham. Welcome ashore, sister P!:D
Most likely Abraham was born about 2324 BC.

See Barry Setterfield's chronology.
Barry if off about 20 years (there are probably 113 out-of-fellowship years in Judged rather than 93).
Barry has since corrected this error.

And learn about the fact that Jesus created a mature Heaven and Earth 6,000 years ago. God can create decayed Phartonium just as easily as He can create brand-spanking new Phartonium. He can also create dry dino-bones in the ground for a sign of things to come (not just things that were past).
My friend....PLEASE understand that the LXX must be used to formulate the correct timelines.
There is no doubt whatsoever that the Masoretic is in error in that regard.

https://www.barrysetterfield.org/Septuagint_History.html

"They also (RABBI AKIVA - MASORETIC), for a rather strange reason, chose to shorten the genealogies in Genesis 5 and 11, effectively chopping off over 1800 years in total."

IMO....there is no doubt whatsoever that this formula is indeed correct....
Fully supported by Scripture extant.

I’m not sure if the creation is truly old or “ young”. I don’t think that the Scriptures say either way. I am ok with not knowing the age of creation.

I have spent considerable amount of years working on my own personal biblical timeline starting in Genesis 5. I would suggest each should do their own if this is an area of interest. If you can do simple math you can easily go to the time of King Solomon. And yes, I came up to about 6000 years.
Here are some dates I came up with in my timeline. All times are from creation as God began. Noah was born in year 1056, World flood came 600 years later--year 1656, Abraham born year 1948, Abraham died year2123, Jacob ( Israel) stands before Pharoh at 130 years of age Year 2238, Exodus from Egypt in year 2553, and according to 1 Kings 6:1 the fourth year of Solomon's reign was in year 3033 from creation.
Just sharing some of my findings.

We will have to agree to disagree on the time from creation. I am firm on the 6000 year number. Yes you are correct four generations in Egypt. But two went in and one came out. levi was longest living at 137 years. We can elimate the first generation by saying the 2nd generation were all newborns and the fourth generation spent 40 years outside Egypt. So it was impossible for Israel to be in Egypt for 430 years
Now the jews use the same text we do but they dont believe they were in Egypt for 430 years. Most say 215 in Cannan and 215 in Egypt. I believe they are counting time from the offering of the pieces by Abraham when he was 75 years old. I say 315 years in Egypt and 115 years in Cannan. IMO Many miss out on prophecies in NT
"There are 12 generations listed from Joseph to Joshua. Since Joshua was alive at the time of the Exodus and was a contemporary of Moses, these 12 generations span the 430-year stay in Egypt. This would fit nicely with a generation being about 40 years. Thus, this genealogy gives (at least) 12 generations that correspond to the same time period as the 4 generations of the Mosaic genealogies. (See Table 3, The Genealogies of Moses and Joshua.) Yet another evidence for telescoping is that Kohath’s descendents at the time of Moses numbered 8,600 men (Numbers 3:27, 28) of whom 2,750 were between the age of 30 and 50 (Numbers 4:36). This number of descendents is inexplicable if this genealogy is not telescoped and Kohath was Moses’ grandfather. Based on these arguments, we can conclude that the Mosaic genealogies are perhaps only 20 to 40 percent complete."

Hope this helps....

Yeah, but you can't do simple math without 10 things.

The first commandment is Hear O Israel, The LORD our God is one LORD
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Did anyone hear 0.

The second is like namely this

One

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
