Ok having re-read your former post you expressed you had a problem with the word Atonement.. It seems from reading it you think the definition of Atonement is offering a sacrifice yearly.... So i can respond to that by saying the Atonement of Jesus was still an Atonement even though it was only performed Once.. Jesus does not need to get sacrificed daily or weekly or yearly for His Atonement to Atone for all our sins.. Once was enough for all the sins of all the people who would come to believe Jesus and trust in His Atonement..
the below is the reason I say Atonement is no more, there is no more yearly sacrifice to take away anymore sins. In Son that it is done and I see you do agree with it is Done
Now we are searching out that word Atonement

New International Version

hebrews 10:1-4
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
10 The law is only a shadow(A) of the good things(B) that are coming—not the realities themselves.(C) For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect(D) those who draw near to worship.(E) 2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.(F) 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.(G) 4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats(H) to take away sins.(I)

Authorized (King James) Version

Hebrews 10:1-4

10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

John 1:29 Jesus came to take out sin once for us all, seeing that in Hebrews 10:10 and in John 19:30, it is finished for us to have mercy over sacrifices as in compassion one to the other
Thank you for having that and I am rested in truth too, thank you
free not kore living like a refugee to emfrom God to me I see to rest as in Hebrews 4 tells me to rest

So much love and wisdom in your comments, exactly what i need at the moment precious friend, cheers.
Encouragement need no more condemnation as said in Romans 8 to me, thanks as we each grow new in love and mercy given us first by God in risen Son for us to rest in
which is not easy, being in unredeemed flesh and blood here in this world of rewards and punishments
Father I see disciplines and does not punish us as flesh does.
I have never gotten pulled over while driving by a police officer and rewarded for driving safely, have you?
Under Law is punishment, in Father and Son as Won for you is discipline to learn from mistakes standing in remaining forgiven by God, knowing we need to learn and is always here for us to learn new and not be angry over anything anymore, as Cane was, and got taken away in the first murder non thought of not being accepted, me, I am learning truth too thank you
It is well for my Soul to know, God justly loves me and everyone else also, even whenever another views that different

As that is what God did for us by Son to us as the perfect one for us to be new in his risen
Life given us to love all and. not condemn anyone anymore, at least I am given this to be at rest in and thankful for no more stress over the mess here in this world we all are in for now.
The risen Son relieves the worry to not worry anymore
seeing. when asked in Matthew 6 Will worry add any moment to your life?
I replied No! as a matter of fact worry, steals, kills and destroys then I saw John 10:10 and saw the thief is worry
Wow, woe is me God revealed that to me and see 1 John 4:18 been in belief ever since, and some how in trust I do not worry over anything anymore and have been homeless as well, not now, yet was, and still praised God no matter what. This is not a work, it is my thankful response to 'God

Here are some of them from Focus on the Family.

  • Intrusive negative thoughts about religion or moral issues.
  • Needless guilt and fear about offending God or committing sin.
  • Fear of God’s punishment.
  • Concern about misinterpreting religious teachings.
  • Fear of going to the “wrong” place of worship.
  • Constant self-examination.
  • Doubt about whether your ethical choices truly are for the greater good.
  • Fixation over whether you’re a “good” person.
“Needless guilt and fear about offending God or committing sin.”

Shouldn’t we feel guilty when we’ve committed sin ? why else would we repent , confess the sin and let the lord cleanse us from it?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sin should make us sorrowful and feel guilty because it leads to repentence and mercy

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:8-11‬ ‭

complacency in our sin is not a good idea.

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

willful sin is a term used in a certain place when we confess our sins because we feel guilty it’s showing that our sin was sent willful we aren’t okay with it our Will is to change from yielding to sin and serving the flesh unto death and start yielding ourselves to God for purposes of righteousness now that we’ve come to the lord and supposedly been “ reborn “ as new creations

“I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have ( in the past ) yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity;

even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We should keep this in mind also regarding our actions what we actually do whether good or bad

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Some refuse to be pursuaded but without feeling guilty when we’ve sinned we’re acting like God declared “ it’s okay now if you sin no worries you’ll never be held accountable for what you do now “ but that’s not the message

The message and mercy is now we can repent when we fail at living upright now when we feel guilty we have an advocate with God and all we have to do is get real with him start acknolwedging we’re called to live right and then when we sin it’s going to bother us enough to where we start changing things

much of Gods work in us hapoens in our conscience when we feel guilty we need to know to co fees to the lord and we’ll be forgiven and restored.

When a good natured person does something wrong and has sinned they will by thier good nature feel guilt some shame maybe even some sorrow because of thier actions. This leads to humility and apologies and reconciliations ect

but if we just pretend we didn’t do anything wrong or that we shouldn’t feel guilty for the wrong we did there’s nothing to ever change our behavior it’s just a liscense to live like we feel and want and claim we belong to God so it doesn’t matter what we do ….

i wouldn’t say obeying the doctrine the lord and his apostles taught or believing the things get said is obsessive compulsive disorder lol if obeying the lord is interpreted o.c.d. Something “should have taken that right toin back at Albawuoikey”

the entire goal is to bring believers into obedience not teach us oir actions have no consequence and we should never acknolwedge when we’ve sinned or feel guilty that’s sort of the opposite of what the Bible teaches and why the Bible teaches what it does

“For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to this gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest,

and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: to God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:25-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Every persons goal should be to walk in obedience to the gospel when we fall short it should bother us enough to go to Jesus with it in prayer knowing he’s full of mercy and ready and willing to forgive us and wash us clean

To get released from having to choosing is a job in itself, learning still in process

Going through troubles, and I still smile, I got that from The Walking Dead, from Ezekiel who quoted that
I look for any gold nuggets in any show, movie, and remember them as I go through my own adversities as well, as all do that too, go through troubles too

Martin Luther suffered greatly from Religious OCD, returning again and again to the Confessional as he remembered more sins, to the point the parish priest told him to go to a really bad sin and come back. Ignatius of Loyala suffered from same Scrupulosity, the founder of the Jesuits. I think rather than seeing it as some sort of religious spirit or illness, it could be simply prophetic, the prophets often pointed out the corruption and sins of nations and individuals, and often saw themselves lowly, all one has to do is look at Jeremiah and read how he wishes he had never been born.

That said I have experienced Religious OCD in form of making the sign of the cross excessively, or doing a list of "I believe in The Holy Trinity, Holy Scriptures, Jesus is God and Man (Two Natures) and etc," when I was in Holy Land especially. This eventually ceased, but when under duress sometimes I revert to it.

The problem is when it takes your peace away, for Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid," (John 14:27) and the Apostle Paul says, "
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7).

I do find that certain things can aggravate & exasperate the Religious OCD, but before I delve into that I want to make sure if it is alright with staff and this forum to post some of my findings, since they shed light on certain religious practices revered by certain denominations.

i wish you well soon & that all issues are resolved quickly. bearing & getting thru trials is definitely, 1 of the most difficult dealings in life. very difficult & sometimes, very lengthy. i've been in trials for as much as 7 months! recently, my wife & i enjoyed a 15 day vacation in the Caribbean & God start a trial in me while there!!! i never thought that would happen. anyway, i'm giving myself a score of 9 & a half in how i overcame it. i am surprised on how well i endured it. it took me a while, years, to get to the point of counting it all joy as the book of James says.
