I don't know about others, but I was dead in my sins before God saved me! I was wicked, a drunk, and a very self centered person. I was basically abandoned by my parents, when I was 3, and my younger brother was born with a birth defect. I always accepted that they thought he might die of water on the brain, but after cutting his skull open from ear to ear, he didn't have it at all. He either developed it in utero, which is what the doctors told my mom in the 1950s, blaming her for getting sick with the flu in her third month, although she protested she hadn't been sick for one day in her entire pregnancy. He likely had one of 10 gene defects which caused it. At any rate he didn't die, but he had no falling reflex, and he was clumsy. He used to fall, and required stitches after every fall. A lot of attention every day. Add a mother, taking car of a bleeding toddlers is more important than giving some attention to a lonely 4 year old. And later, the abuse got worse!

I don't believe I was abandoned, but certainly I was neglected emotionally. My brother was overprotected, & grew up to be a bitter, angry person. My father wouldn't let him go, my mom berated him for everything. He was spoiled & lazy. I just saw him this week, and since getting out in his own (our mom is in long term care!) he has changed into a kind, caring, normal person. At 65! So he was damaged, too!

When I reached my teens, my parents were so controlling. I ran away from home, for good at 17! I did a lot of bad things. Then a revival started among the hippies where I lived! The power of God was amazing. Many people were called to ministry & the mission field, Then, God miraculously saved me. I changed instantly, by the power of the Holy Spirit! I never had another drop of alcohol-since May 1980! God did that, I had tried many times & failed.

I was joyously saved, but I did have a lot of inner conflicts & depression. As I read through the Bible yearly, God ministered to me! For 30 years! I was very angry! God showed me anger was a sin in my second year as a Christian. In the sin list In Galatians 5:19-21, "fits of anger" was there with drunkenness and sexual immorality are both on that list. In law, a list like that means all the items are equal! My anger, was as bad as sexual immorality, which includes homosexuality. So although Paul starts Roman's 1 with a tirade about how bad homosexuality is, in Galatians, he makes the case that those sins are equal. Just to clear up the poor theology that homosexuality is the biggest sin. In fact, blaspheming God is much worse.

Lots of people saying a bad childhood resulted in them turning to homosexuality. I'm not saying that is wrong. Certainly neglect and abuse hurt me! But the root of sin, is that we are born sinners. If not homosexuality, then drunkedness or idolatry or anger is the result of Genesis 3, the fall! We are not born beautiful and perfectly innocent. Even as babies, before we learn about sin, a baby is still a sinner, by inheritance.

And what is the cure for sin? Jesus, of course! We have a man in our church who seems flamboyantly gay. But he was married to a beautiful woman, who died last year of Rheumatoid Lung Disease, for over 30 years. Joe repented of his sins, avoided temptation and changed his life, with the Holy Spirit. He's a sinner, saved by grace!

I'm glad I wasn't veering in that direction. But I was still a sinner, too! God ONLY saves sinners. Because there is no one righteous, no, not one! (Roman's 3:10) we are saved by grace, and that includes homosexuals, adulterers, prostitutes and every other sexual immorality! Every type of sin!

"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this worldand of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient." Ephesians 2:1-2

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved" Eph 2:4-5

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph 2:8-10

So, yes, a homosexual can repent and become a Christian, just like the rest of us!!

Thanks for replying.
You mention that in Gal5, "fits of anger" is mentioned among other sins and that "In Law, a list like that means all sins are equal!". I don't get that. As I rhetorically asked earlier - is lying as bad as mass murder?
I personally don't believe homosexuals are beyond hope of salvation. I'm not sure that God giving them up/ over to vile affections means they're irretrievable (I'm not sure either way). It seems God has dismissed His people throughout the ages and has subsequently taken them back.

The issue is:- Is it ever too late in this life to be saved?
If the answer was yes, that would make Christ’s death and Resurrection meaningless and void of all purpose and power. Thanks be to God the answer to your question is no.

I am afraid that you are misinterpreting this scripture, by not recognising what "the kingdom of God" is. It is one of the names of Christ's visible church. There are no degrees of sin. Looking upon another person with lust on your mind is as bad a sin as those sins that these verses have reference to. There are many that have been redeemed from their sins by Christ's death on the cross, that the visible church will not accept as members.
The Bible says if a person breaks the least of the laws they have broken all the law because they broke the law which any sin can condemn you if you do not repent of that sin.

But there are degrees of sins in how bad they are which the worse the sin the worse the punishment for being rebellious against God's laws.

A person that did not accept the truth only lusting after women and fornicated once in a while will not have as much punishment as Adolph Hitler.

God said a person that did not know the truth never hearing it and was rebellious shall be beat with few stripes, but those that know the truth and do not do it and do not repent of it do it shall be beat with many stripes.

There are differing levels of punishment for the wicked.

But any sin can condemn a person if they do not repent and mean it.

And the Church should accept people that have sinned and repented of it and no longer want the sin.

Saul persecuted the Church and had many people put to death but he got saved and was a mighty servant of God.

David had a man killed so he can have his wife and David was saved.

Solomon had 300 wives and 700 concubines which they LORD was not pleased with Him but Solomon is saved because he repented which is what Ecclesiastes is about Solomon saying that he enjoyed the sins of the world but then came to realize it is all vanity and to fear God and keep His commandments for that is the whole duty of man.

No matter the sin that the person did when they are saved they are not the same person anymore but have put on Christ and will be Christlike unless they are a hypocrite but then deal with them then.

I'm happy that you see my point, so let me expound upon it a bit.

Romans chapter 1

[20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

For what cause?

Well, just read the verse IN CONTEXT.

Paul was talking about those who "were without excuse" or those "who knew God", and then "became vain in their imaginations" or those who "changed the truth of God into a lie".

Again, do you HONESTLY believe that this describes all homosexuals?

Of course, it doesn't.

Context is everything.

Steven Anderson is a hate-filled heretic.

First, let me establish that the unregenerate person will not, and even cannot, discern the things of the Spirit, until he has been reborn spiritually (1 Cor 2:14). (Eph 2:1-5).

Romans 1:14 - Paul says; "I am debtor both to the GREEKS, and to the Barbarians ( non-Greek ), both to the WISE, ane to the UN-WISE. Verse 18 & 19 - For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (this is the born again person, when they commit a sin) who HOLD THE TRUTH in unrighteousness. Because that which may be known of God IS MANIFEST IN THEM: FOR GOD HATH SHEWED IT UNTO THEM (this does not describe the unregenerate person in 1 Cor 2:14).

Those of us that have been born again can fit the description that Paul is pointing out, by our sinful nature, that we carry with us, even after we have been born again. If we cannot see the possibility of ourselves being unrighteous, then maybe we are not as humble as we ought to be.

If we pay close enough attention to the scriptures, we can see that they are written to the regenerate people, and not to the unregenerate people that cannot discern the things of the Spirit.

who said those in sexual sin can not be saved? Fornication, adultery, and homosexuality are all acts of sexual sin.

It is only with the sin of Homosexuality today it is treated as a race of people. That is a deceptive lie. Also, it is with homosexuality that depravity spirals downward. And creates more wickedness, as all sin will if Left unchecked.

Two of the same sex in a relationship became: I am a man in a woman's body, and too now children are told this lie and laws created to support kindergarteners taking hormone blockers. All these sins, left unchecked, lead to rape, drugs, suicide, child abuse, and violence.

Each sin! Will destroy you. kill steal and destroy. Christ is the answer to all.

If the homosexuals repent sins to God and conform to God's standard. All sins are forgivable. Leviticus 20:13. If a man also lie with mankind, as lies with woman, both of them have committed a Abomination: they shall surely be put to death; Homosexuality is a major sin, God doesn't wink at sins. Unless lesbians and homosexuals repent sins to God and change their ways. They will end up in Hell. I told the truth.

homosexuals,I'm just curious, do homosexuals hurt you? Why you hope they go to hell?
If I understand correctly, what the Bible says about men and men is that those who commit adultery will not let men go even woman.

I've come across differing views on this and would like to see others' biblical evidence one way or another, if any would like to comment.
The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit..

Homosexuality is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit..

What is Compliance? What is inverse?

If a man fall in love with a man, Is this inverse?

Why do you always think of love as sexy.

Around 1973 a 'friend' told me he was a 'homosexual'. Maybe he didn't use that word but he was apparently troubled. The last time I heard from him about a year later he sent me a photo of the place where he and his female wife were then living. At the time we were associated with a group that claimed to espouse 'Christianity' and apparently his repentance may have put him in better standing with 'principles' recorded in the Bible. Seems judgement belongs to Jesus when He returns. Maybe this is helpful maybe not; I should, and maybe we all should try and concern ourselves as regards our own situation as I am coming to the realization that as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) teaches PRIDE is the deadliest sin may be close to 'Christian' truth as recorded in the Bible. Jesus really had to fight against the RELIGIOUS TEACHERS who ultimately handed Him over to become The Sacrificial Lamb of God. AA was a big help in my life but gets a lot of criticism and also support. Seems we have some folks on this site that have all the answers just like in AA and even the site moderators excluding non-trinitarians like the Jehovah's Witnesses seems pompous. In reading the wiki on them they sound ok except for understanding the Trinity differently. Seems they know the blood Jesus poured out on the cross is what makes it possible for any to be found acceptable. I have also talked with some JWs at my front door and Catholics which are many here and both groups say they have THE ANSWERS. Or at least think they are 'saved' and others are not. Sorry to get off track on this thread. My own conflictions!!!

Faith is not think they are 'saved' and others are not.

Belief is not either your death or my living state,life-and-death.

Faith and belief is life.

Is this man guilty?

I know the Bible says that all people are guilty. Don't you think the Bible has saved your face?

Whether this person is guilty or not is not something you and I can tell, but this person goes to confess to God.

I highly recommend a wonderful Woman named Kathy Grace. I saw her on Thursday last week. Over 20 people were saved, and she answered many questions with wisdom and truth. She called sin, sin and did not pull punches but was very loving. I was more equipped because of her. I thank God for her. she addressed pronouns and so much more in her Q& session. I would encourage all to ask her to come and speak to your youth,

An important question is "Can ANY specific individual be saved?" While this might be met with an immediate "Yes", some consideration is I think in order. What about the unforgivable sin? Many interpret this in different ways. Some say there is a sin from which there is no recovery. What about the "sin unto death" (I think in James)"? What about the material in Rom1, where it says "God gave them (homosexuals) up to vile affections", implying to many that they are list, without hope?
All sins of those that Jesus died for are paid for in full, every last one of them.

Eternal salvation is promise of a deliverance from this evil world into heaven. This promise was justified by Christ redeeming those that God gave to him, which was accomplished on the cross. (John 6;39). Jesus saying that he would not lose any that he died for, but would raise them up at the last day.

The event on the cross is when salvation was accomplished for every soul included in those that God gave to Jesus from the beginning of time until the end of time in this world, when Jesus will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt 24:31).

Jesus is God's only begotten Son. All of the rest of his children are adopted (Eph 1:5) We did not choose our Father God, but he choose us (Eph 1:4). First, he choose us. Secondly, Jesus paid for us. Thirdly, He will take us home at the last day. Our society still uses these three elements when we adopt children today, and the child plays no part in any of the process.

Yes, We were all unregenerate when we were born a natural birth into this world. The unregenerate person becomes regenerate when God quickens us to a new spiritual life (being born again) with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and exchanging our heart of stone to a heart of flesh which can be pricked to feel guilt. I think Eph 2:1-5 explains the new birth.

Yes, they can be saved.
Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Having said that, have you come across the beliefs of Steven Anderson and the like in their interpretation of Romans1, where they quote "God gave them over to vile affections", and saying they have lost their hope?
Notice that it doesn't say that God gave them up irrevocably to vile affections.
