Why men HAVE to do the ''first move''

Sorry to disappoint, ServantStrike. I will debate with people that I believe to be thinkers who will actually consider the other side, not with those who staunchly hold to an idea regardless of it's validity. Although I made a significant exception once with presidente in the Bible forum the day before taking X back to court. It was quite therapeutic. Sometimes you need a good debate to get the blood flowing! But maybe that's just me. :)

You seriously couldn't see the problem with his statement? Sweeping generalizations contrasting his opinion of Eastern and Western women and inferring that his opinion of Eastern women makes them better Western women.

well I see his point, he *could* have worded it a bit better. but it is what it is. point is still valid.

I have been treated much better by non-western women, then I have by western women. I have NEVER had a non-western women call me ugly,worthless,idiot,i should suicide, never going to matter, never going to be worth anything. Yet I have heard those words many many many times by westernized women.

I'm a western woman, I don't say those things to people of either gender.

She cannot wisebeardman so she stopped the "relationship conversation". I never heard of that ever before in my life. Definitely going to google that one.

This city is the biggest in the country and we have people here from at least 200 different cultures. I'd say some men marry indian women too but it's not the norm as they have their own culture. I'd say theirs works coz they have arranged marriages so they have to learn to love each other. She'd likely say that's racist too. I was just reporting on what I see and why a western guy would choose an Asian women over a western one. In my lifetime there was racism against Asians and likely still is. We accept them now. Many are born here. The funny thing is the Chinese have been here since the 19th century in the gold rush days.

As someone who was raised by an Asian woman, I can tell you that everything you THINK you know about said stereotypes is more wrong than you think.
 
If she was offended praus and I said anybody which is universal and therefore includes western women. SeoulSearch instigated the poll. You'll also notice she was very gracious about it unlike somebody else yeah?

Telling an indian sister (and yourself in the same sentence) was just joking ok? I'm not that sensitive.

I'm sorry that you have been treated terribly. Please don't judge all of us by the actions of others.

I'm probably opening a can of worms here, but I dated a couple of Asian (Korean and Chinese) men and worked for a Chinese (from Hong Kong) woman and a half Chinese man. Plus my uncle who lives in the 2-story hunting cabin by my parents' house has a collection of Chinese girlfriends that he brings by on a regular basis. Their families were more racist than I have ever heard a caucasian person be. The Chinese culture in particular as has been explained to me and through my own observation is quite concerned with the appearance of honor. That makes them more likely to tell you what you want to hear not what is actually true, so truth is bent or even abandoned routinely.The most conniving person I ever worked for was the Chinese woman who was driven by ambition and greed at all costs.

I give these examples not because I am against Asians (which I am not). But to demonstrate that the complementarian fantasy of the submissive Asian woman is not quite as it seems.

Yes. One of my asian piano students has a "Tiger Mom," which is probably a racist term, I dunno....I apologize if that's offensive....anyway, she DOES make great tea...

Judge women no, distrust women yes I do. think boy who cried wolf, you get burned enough times you will quit believeing anything people say. women have burned me enough I don't believe what they say. Quite honestly. if one came to me in person today and was all nicey nice to me my first though will be she is trying to scam me out of something. cause women have not been nice to me in life.

And before someone says something about here/online. I don't count anything online as real cause when I click the "X" in the upper right corner it don't exist anymore till I open a browser, type url and press enter again.

Western men do that too. We determined that anyone who calls themself a nice guy may be doing this.

Sadly, I know what you mean. I have been mistreated by "Christian" men in ways that would make me totally justified in becoming a man-hating, lesbian atheist. Thankfully, I haven't fallen off that ledge as of yet.

It took a while for me to forgive my abuser, my rapist, and others who just used me in other ways. But the Lord is performing a healing work in me. I don't automatically think every man is out to hurt me any more, but it does take a while for me to allow myself to be vulnerable with them.
