No you don't, sorry but you can't, 6 days a week we have duties, work things that need to be done. while you may have time with God and worship Him everyday, The Sabbath is different because its time without distraction. and in the end its the only day God blessed and made Holy, so it is not like every other day unless you make what God makes holy common.

I hear what your saying but what you are missing is this day is special, it is not like or the same as the other 6. This one is blessed of God and made Holy by God.

It was about 2 years ago, I ask God to show me what His name is. It was a very humbling experience, that He would show me so many things, open my eyes after all these years of being a Christian..all because I asked what His name is...and I know, it was Him that put it on my heart to ask in the first place. He is so good! and when it left me shattered, on my knees repenting of all the lies I had inherited, all the man made traditions .. He comforted me gave me peace like I've never known. One of the things He showed me was this gift called Sabbath. He made Sabbath for us, and it is such a precious gift!
One poster made a statement on this thread that I must take exception to. It stated that Jesus broke the Sabbath. I urge anyone who thinks Jesus broke the Sabbath to pray about that and search the scriptures, because you won't find it. He was accused of many things, but we should all know He was blameless! He did break the Pharisee traditions, but not His Father's instructions. He showed us how to live out the Torah. A most noteable consideration..Messiah healed many on Sabbath..Sabbath is a day for healing.

Is that so? you say it's impossible but with God all things are possible. If you have work to be done then do so as if you are doing it for God, also he doesn't require a long thought out prayer we can speak with him anytime even if's just a very shor comment or question, we can be thinking of scriptures and apply it to our lives in any given situaution.
I had work for a while I was very busy but yet I still was able to make God a part of all aspects of my life even in my busy work life I still spoke with him I still pondered the scriptures and I still enjoyed every moment I got to spend with him.
You may want to make God the number one on the sabbath and to spend lots of time with him on the sabbath more than other days but my love and my hunger for him makes me refuse to do so. He can be found any day all day in any situation because love always makes a way.
it's like I said before if you love someone enough you will make time for them you will find a way to spend every waking moment with them.
I think you have missed my point, I will try to explain myself better. Yes you should put God first in everything, and Yes we can commune with Him at all times. God is number one every day. not the issue.
The issue here is that God made the 7th day Holy. and if you love Him then honor that fact.
I think the answer here is simple and obvious. God blessed the Seventh Day. He made it holy. He commanded his People to rest on it.
Any debate about its merit, whether or not it was a shadow of a higher spiritual truth, what place a shadow of a higher spiritual truth has in our lives or if it brings us spiritual fruit is moot. God commanded it. If we love him, then we obey him. Not a hard concept.
I don't agree with everything that gotime has said, but he's hit the mark when it comes to the Seventh Day. If God commanded us a million years ago to hop on one foot and cluck like chickens, then that would be every Christian's prerogative. Understanding the reason of the chicken dance or trying to decide on what benefits clucking brings you is beside the point.

If that is the case you will call David a liar... he also loved the law.
The other thing is Yeshua will be in error as He showed us grace from the law and not condemnation.
Maybe we should reconsider the human view on the law and look at the Godley view lived by Jesus Christ our saviour. If we are His followers we will base our live on what He did and He kept the Torah to the last letter. He was perfect in grace for us to see and discuss. The fault is with the human not with God and His Word. God is perfect and without sin, so is His law. Our interpretations are at error.

Well I've met people who observe a Saturday Sabbath who have multiple affairs while doing so. They are in earnest a Saturday Sabbath must be obeyed

Well I am happy to respond to you question. I didn't personally know everyone in the church I went to for a few weeks to please someone who asked me to go. I went with a willingness to embrace people who saw things differently than me on some subjects. As Paul calls disputable matters whether you avoid the levitical unclean foods, and if you consider one day more sacred than another I didn't see those differences as anything to worry about
The first thing that shocked me was, people were taking the lords name in vain and laughing while doing so. I have never experienced that in any other church I have ever been to. As we cannot sin in ignorance due to the law being placed within us, I was extremely perturbed by what I was witnessing. Two people I knew in the church had multiple affairs while dressing immaculately on a Saturday. One of them enthusiastically called out Amen if the minister said something she approved of. A woman who often led the service until the minister spoke was sleeping with her partner outside of marriage
And yet, these same people were adamant the ten commandments must be obeyed to attain heaven.
I am only speaking honestly. I saw more open and flagrant sin in that church than I have in any other church I have been to in forty years.
I knew someone who went to a different church on a Saturday. She too openly took the lords name in vain and had multiple affairs alongside being in the Choir on saturdays at church
