no particular occasion. just that last Tuesday thru Saturday was unseasonably warm so we took advantage of the weather. we may not experience a warm weekend until April or May.

It's Mama's bingo night, so I'm on my own. Looking through the freezer stuffed peppers stand out. I may add a yeast roll to it. Later this evening I'll fix a bowl of fruit and top it with a generous helping of whipped cream.

you are not being rudely inquisitive. neat that you grew up there. 15 Church is on Church street, close to Route 50 which at that point, is Broadway. when you cross 50, the name changes to Lake ave. i played the drums in my band way back in the 80's & some after that. i've been socializing there since 1981. it's a tie between Siro's & 15 Church that my favorite restaurant is. if you get back to Saratoga, other worthy restaurants are; Wishing Well, Salt & Char, Sperry's, Prime, The Merc for breakfast (we eat there often), Ripe Tomato, which is further down on Route 9, Morrissey's for breakfast, also very good.i'm sorry for being so rudely inquisitive, Karlon. i was just surprised to see you talk about the place.

we just came home from dinner. my wife enjoyed filet mignon steak, baked potato & shitaki mushrooms while i had a huge sirloin burger with shrooms, fries & gravy. the establishment is well known for quality steaks & burgers.
It's only just after 10 am here but I will be having Japanese food for dinner tonight with my daughter and her aunt .

Certainly seen my share of Chinese, had it last night. But I don't believe I have ever been to a Japanese restaurant. Is it a buffet style?
Japanese food gets my attention, love it. if in Manhattan, you must try Nobu.It's only just after 10 am here but I will be having Japanese food for dinner tonight with my daughter and her aunt .
No, not buffet style, I don't think that would work as much of the fish in Japanese food is raw. I did order some sashimi which is raw tuna and it is like eating butter .
. That was a side order that my daughter and I had some of and then I had two slices left over today that I put in a sandwich. I also always order a California roll and some yam tempura for myself, and my daughter always has the Miami Heat Roll. Her aunt ordered sesame gomae (spnich) and a side of fried gyoza (dumplings). I also got some Bubble Teas at a nearby restaurant, and made two other stops on my way over to get some cookies my daughter likes (mini peanut butter cookies with dark chocolate chunks) and another stop for some crumpets with lemon and blueberry. Ha it is a good thing I had one of those at their place because I forgot to bring one home.

Oh wow! That sounds like good food! We had a Japanese Steak house move into our town but hubby and I haven't been brave enough yet to try it. My sister wanted to go when she visited, so we may just give it a try. I'm not too good with the spicy food but it would be nice to try something different. I have heard of Bubble tea but haven't tried that yet either. I really need to be more food adventurous. My sister teases me because she's willing to try about anything. She and my mother have the same tastes. Sounds like you had a wonderful time together!

And I'm real good at directions... or hubby is really bad. Either way I always get us to our destination. rofl
Thank you, yes, it was very tasty, and we did have a lovely visit together. I wonder if a Japanese steak house would serve sushi? They probably do! Japanese food is generally not spicy, but you can spice it up with the accompanying sauces, and of course it depends what you order. I think there may have been some jalapenos on my daughter's roll, but they are easily removed, same as the green stuff that comes with sushi, heh, what is it called? Ah! It is wasabi, a spicy green paste made with Japanese horseradish. That and thinly sliced pickled ginger often or always accompany many Japanese fish dishes, which as I mentioned are made of raw fish. Raw salmon is lovely also but I more often go for tuna though usually a California roll and tempura are more than enough, and I always have leftovers. But there is a wide variety of fish and even octopus but that would be very chewy LOL.
Very few places carry the item my daughter likes, but it is on my way to their place, and one of the best places we have eaten at, so I get take out there often if we are unsure what to have for dinner. It was actually our Thanksgiving dinner because thanksgiving was a month ago, but my daughter had covid then, and in the meantime people had been sick at her work place, and she is always so very considerate of not wanting to infect me since I am so high risk. Her aunt would often go to a great deal of trouble making a holiday feast meal for us, but now that both my daughter's dad and grandad have passed, we don't feel the need to do that so often, and to me it hardly matters. I mean, we could order pizza if auntie does not feel like cooking haha.
And bubble tea! The "bubbles" are actually tapioca beads or pearls and this place I get the tea also puts in coconut jelly in small/slim longish rectangles, which is also chewy with a tiny bit more crunch than the tapioca has. Bubble tea may not even have tea in it, heh, I get milk teas for us, my daughter and aunt get chocolate and I get a taro one and it is purple! Taro is a starchy root vegetable much like a sweet potato. The pearls and coconut sink to the bottom so you need a wide straw to suck them up with the tea. It is quite tasty.
I recall watching Cars with my nephews when they were little. In the second one they go to a restaurant where the Mator character eats Wasabi. The kids thought that was hysterical. So even now they have these little challenges to see who can tolerate the hottest food. I let hubby play that game, lol my stomach is too old for that stuff.
I don't think I would try octopus, it just doesn't sound appetizing. It's funny because I'm from Nova Scotia, my grandfather was a fisherman from Newfoundland and yet I'm very picky about my fish. I do like salmon and tuna but I can do without lobster and crab.
Oh, glad your daughter has recovered. It's true that the older we get it seems more about the fellowship than what we eat. I'm hoping my nephews will make it for Thanksgiving this year. I make most of the meal, Mom isn't able to anymore. If they don't come I have a 20lb turkey to fix and I'm not sure who will have the leftovers. May have to see if someone at church needs a meal.

I do like tapioca. I think I'm going to set a date with my sister where we try this steak house and see if we can find bubble tea. I'll let you know how that turns out. lol
