Hey Everyone,
I was in Target last week, and it reminded me that I've always meant to look up some information about Bulls Eye, the Target Mascot Dog. Since I didn't grow up with dogs (unless you count the ones that tried to bite at me on my paper route) and don't know many of the breeds, I always thought Bulls Eye was cute, but didn't know anything about him.

Now I can say upfront that I'm not very fond of the idea of anyone, let alone a huge corporation, putting red paint on a poor dog for the sake of brand recognition.
But, as the dog lovers in this thread will already know, I found out that Bulls Eye is an English Bull Terrier.

Even someone as cold-hearted as me has to admit these dogs are downright adorable. And I fell in love with one family's story about how their English bull terrier, despite having no training as a therapy dog, always senses when their young daughter is anxious and sort of plops himself over her, kind of like a weighted blanket -- and this always calms her down.
Several sources I read or listened to described bull terriers as: "Stubborn, but trainable with ample amounts of attention, praise, encouragement, and treats."
Now -- I'm NOT saying I'm stubborn
(just don't ask my parents!!) -- but I'm starting to think that these little bull terriers just might be my spirit animal, or at least, something very close to my personality -- in 4-legged form.
At least... I'm GUESSING that I might possibly be trainable (and perhaps would become even halfway agreeable) if only given enough attention, praise, encouragement... and did I mention, TREATS.
It's just that I'm going to need enough people to actually try this in order to REALLY find out.
(This is actually a REAL joke within my family, as we have a family dog of a different breed that I always say is the 4-footed grandchild -- and I think it's dangerously close to replacing me.)
How about YOU?
* Which animal(s) represent you in another form?
* What about them is so like you?
* Do you or anyone close to you have these animals as pets?
* Are there other animals that always make you think of someone you're close to? Why?
For myself, I don't foresee having any pets in the future (due to allergies and various living situations,) but I have actually been praying that I might meet a nice neighbor -- with a friendly little bull terrier for which I could bring toys and treats.
How about you?
