I would hope that God made me a prophet. Even if I get my head chopped off as many of them did, because then I would have a great mansion and a robe of righteousness.

PS, sorry, I don't know how to put a portion of another's post into a quote box. I can hit reply with quote, but a portion I copypaste, when it works.![]()
Like this....
"reply with quote" at the bottom of their post, then just delete the parts you don't want to "quote"
Or, you can highlight the part you want, do a "copy", then paste it in between the words "quote" in brackets that you get when you hit the "wrap quote tags around selected text" button at the far right of your toolbar at the top of your reply box.
was that complex enough? The first method is easiest. It's considered "good form" to put some kind of comment in the quote, though.... saying something like "edited for length", just so others will know that it is not a complete quote... helps to keep anyone from accusing you of "mis-quoting" someone..

Reply with quote option is optimum because then the link to the original post remains even if you edit the content of the post message itselfLike this....

Addressing a male elder by prefacing with "Sir" is a sign of respect. Yes?
Well, even if I addressed you with "Sir" it should be taken as a token
of respect even though you are slightly younger than I am.
On the other hand, please don't call me Ma'am. LOL

Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE (born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, 3 November 1948), best known by her stage name Lulu, is a Scottish singer, actress, and television personality who has been successful in the entertainment business since the 1960s and renowned for her powerful singing voice. (From wikihmmm... wasn't she Canadian?
Good old movie.... they used "sir" as his formal name.
What? No, you do not understand. If the link is not there for theJut hit the back button, my purple friend.
And yes it is true I could do a page by page search for the original post, but that is definitely not an appealing prospect. Some threads are thirty or more pages long! Leaving in the link and name of the original post is optimum all round as far as I am concerned.Yeah, I want to know who said what is in that quote box.
PS we are not talking about an opening post, but any old post that is being quoted![]()
See, now some might quote like and then someone else will come along and see my response and what you said as well but they will have no idea it was you who said it or have an easy time of it getting to where you said it if the link and name are removed *sob*Got you purple, looking for old post can be a kick in the side.
I am so happy not to be the oldest person here hahasorry.... didn't mean to go off on a purple tangent, there..... that video link just reminded me of when I had quite the crush on Lulu.
Don't even get me started on Julie Andrews.... lol
Yes, I'm that old.
But if you were a prophet, wouldn't you know a-head?I would hope that God made me a prophet. Even if I get my head chopped off as many of them did, because then I would have a great mansion and a robe of righteousness.
Thank you, that was very helpful, I'm sure I'll screw it up.Like this....
