I would hope that God made me a prophet. Even if I get my head chopped off as many of them did, because then I would have a great mansion and a robe of righteousness.

PS, sorry, I don't know how to put a portion of another's post into a quote box. I can hit reply with quote, but a portion I copypaste, when it works. :p
Like this....

"reply with quote" at the bottom of their post, then just delete the parts you don't want to "quote"

Or, you can highlight the part you want, do a "copy", then paste it in between the words "quote" in brackets that you get when you hit the "wrap quote tags around selected text" button at the far right of your toolbar at the top of your reply box.

was that complex enough? :D The first method is easiest. It's considered "good form" to put some kind of comment in the quote, though.... saying something like "edited for length", just so others will know that it is not a complete quote... helps to keep anyone from accusing you of "mis-quoting" someone..

False prophets were to be stoned. That could get messy.

Reply with quote option is optimum because then the link to the original post remains even if you edit the content of the post message itself :D Personally I like to know where the original post is, and have the link at the ready in case I want to go back to the beginning of the convo :)

Addressing a male elder by prefacing with "Sir" is a sign of respect. Yes?
Well, even if I addressed you with "Sir" it should be taken as a token
of respect even though you are slightly younger than I am.

On the other hand, please don't call me Ma'am. LOL :D

hmmm... wasn't she Canadian?

Good old movie.... they used "sir" as his formal name.

I just googled her.... she was Scottish, and was married to Maurice Gibb for a few years! Who'd a thunk it?

Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE (born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, 3 November 1948), best known by her stage name Lulu, is a Scottish singer, actress, and television personality who has been successful in the entertainment business since the 1960s and renowned for her powerful singing voice. (From wiki :)) It was a good movie :D I still enjoy movies with a similar theme :)

What? No, you do not understand. If the link is not there for the
original post, no amount of hitting the back button is going to help :p

And yes it is true I could do a page by page search for the original post, but that is definitely not an appealing prospect. Some threads are thirty or more pages long! Leaving in the link and name of the original post is optimum all round as far as I am concerned. :D Yeah, I want to know who said what is in that quote box.

PS we are not talking about an opening post, but any old post that is being quoted ;)

See, now some might quote like and then someone else will come along and see my response and what you said as well but they will have no idea it was you who said it or have an easy time of it getting to where you said it if the link and name are removed *sob*

Thank you, that was very helpful, I'm sure I'll screw it up.

Awww don't be ashamed, we are all adding to what was said to help you :) I certainly hope
it did not come across as fighting :) But you have a funny sense of humor, so...

I think...men who God chooses to speak to other men always face some trepidation...But Lord, I'm slow and stumbling of speech, but Lord, you have to choose someone else, but Lord, they aren't going to listen to me and will think I am a lying crazy man, but Lord, they'll just laugh at me and ridicule me or maybe even worse!

And if you add in that they are just beginning to know Him and are shaky about if what they are hearing could be from Him or from their own mind, and consider that they were and are men just like us with the same struggles to growing trust in God, and a hesitancy about if they should say it now or wait for Him to give the definite time to say it...I mean, just thinking about our own doubts and apprehensions should make us feel some sympathy. :)
