I am asking a question which I struggle with. I wasn't aware that this is not allowed.

God knows it anyway, so asking it makes no difference. I was just hoping for some helpful replies.

I wasn't expecting to be judged at a christian forum. This is concerning and should not happen.

Well then I would have to agree with post #6.

Anyone who is in Christ and has Christ in them knows.

Well then I would have to agree with post #6.

Anyone who is in Christ and has Christ in them knows.

I just reported you. People like you should not be allowed at a christian forum, which should basically

be a SAFE PLACE not a place where people who know nothing about another person have the gall to

question their salvation! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

Shame on you, HeisHere.

People like you repell me. Seems like you still have a lot to learn. I suggest you read the chapter about Love.

You've heard of love, right? It's something which plays a pretty huge role in the Bible. Just sayin.

Btw, I am aware that my fear seems irrational, but this doesn't make it go away.

I simply cannot imagine something I don't know. I also couldn't imagine what it feels like to be a cat.

Seems like some people here don't seem to be able to comprehend something like this.

I get it, we have nothing to compare the feeling of such an idea to go on. Well, nothing other than the glimpses that some have been given such as was shared. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you found it difficult to look away from their gaze? I would characterize what I think it will be is "captivating.' As scripture says, we will all be known not as in a glass darkly but face to face. So, there will be none of this 'I don't get what you're talking about?' since I assume knowing one another face to face includes knowing one another in all depths of our face, even spirit to spirit. And miscommunication would be relatively nonexistent, since there will be no more lies that work to confuse us.

I worry not being capable to be really happy cause I cannot imagine being really happy. Gosh!

Revelation 21:4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

I hope the above verse will bring you hope! I think you might be currently oppressed which suppresses your ability to be happy. But when you're fully redeemed at Jesus' return, everything that causes you to not have the ability to experience full joy and happiness will be taken away from you.

So this is something to look forward to. I know I am! :)

Do you also worry about this?

What if while we're here we look forward to heaven and everything being perfect and then once we get there

we notice that we cannot really enjoy it or grasp it? Or what if after a while we forget how much this world sucked

and thus our gratefulness declines?

This is scary.

I also cannot imagine being totally happy and without any care, can you? To me this is unreal. I just can't imagine it.

Or what if it's like looking forward to a special event like Christmas and then when you finally get there you don't really

"feel" it?

Or what if heaven is so perfect that it becomes boring, like playing a game and you have all the cheat codes and thus it

loses its attraction? That would also be scary.

The more I learn about everlasting life, the more those kinds of thoughts were laid to rest. There are preconceived notions we get about the afterlife that makes us wonder. Some envision Heaven as a place where there's clouds and people float around playing harps. You probably have seen those images in art or comic strips too. I'm not saying that's what you think.
It's just that the key to understanding what is understandable is to go to God's Word. Rest in the fact that He loves us and has told us everything we need to know for now. Most of us don't know because we don't ask, seek or knock as Jesus so perfectly said in Matthew 6, if I remember the right chapter.

Here's a blessing that settles that subject from God's promises. Someone cared enough to share the same message with me. After checking it out with an open Bible, I decided to take that promise for my own. Just passing it forward to you.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
I will be with Jesus, the One who gave His life for a wretch like me.
How will I NOT be happy? It will be joy unspeakable & full of glory!!

That fear is double-mindedness. You have to suspend your lack of understanding about Heaven (as we all do to some degree.)

Sometimes our feelings are dumb; and this really seems to be the case with you right now.

It's not outrageous; it is for your good. Do you know what Rev. says about the fearful?

but the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

You believe in God, right? So trust him also. Your fears come from some idea that is simply wrong.

People say without a villian the storyline is boring but or lives arnt storylines. if you take the bad people out what do you have? Happiness and constant improvement. Heaven doesn't mean we won't struggle. So there's no need to worry about being bored. Also Billy Graham believed The Lord will give us Jobs Our father knows what we need more then we do. He has this handled candycan7.

Ah, so christians who suffer from anxiety go to hell. Good to know. :poop:

When I was young , I was reading this verse once in revelation

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:14-17‬ ‭

and I had the same type of thought you are expressing here i didint mean to think it but “ wow that sounds wonderful but also it sounds like it could be boring and doesn’t seem like it would fill eternity ….then I thought there has to be more to it “

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭65:17-18, 21-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

then I began to think maybe his plan is to eventually make a perfect version of this earth and fill it with everyone he’s redeemed from this fallen world and place them in tboer own land where nothing will ever corrupt it again and so then I thought “wow that doesn’t seem so boring “ that other thing was about the priests and servants of his temple and isnt his ultimate plan for everyone he’s actually going to make a new earth with houses and lands divided and peoples and gardens and food growing and activity’s construction of houses and

It also tells in many other places like once every year everyone will journey into the new Jerusalem when it’s on the new earth and have a great feast to the lord . They’ll fill the whole new earth and everyone will live as Jesus taught in the gospel no murder or violence no wars or natural disasters no coveting and stealing and adultery ect all the bad things in this world gone and all the wholesome and good things plus much we don’t even know about yet will keep eternity from being boring I began to believe as I found more and more out about , his plan to make a better world a new creation and fill it with his children and then dwell and walk among among them as tbier God and father assuring that sin will not be a problem anymore for mankind… which means death no longer exists for them

Doesn't the Bible say of our time in heaven that we will send every minute there praising God?

That fear is double-mindedness. You have to suspend your lack of understanding about Heaven (as we all do to some degree.)
None of us can say we have an understanding of Heaven.

What you don't have is compassion for a fellow Christian. You have no idea what they're going through or how it feels.

A person doesn't just set aside emotional issues as they would taking off a shirt to throw in the hamper.

If we could do these things ourselves why would prayer help us to overcome?

That Revelation verse doesn't apply to the redeemed in Christ.

Btw, I am aware that my fear seems irrational, but this doesn't make it go away.

I simply cannot imagine something I don't know. I also couldn't imagine what it feels like to be a cat.

Seems like some people here don't seem to be able to comprehend something like this.

Bingo! Obviously what you are talking about is going over some heads, while some get it.

Let us consider the replies up to this point in the order they were posted:

1. "This is why Christ said, "leave all the burdens to me and let tomorrow worry about tomorrow". This is good advice.

2. "I know some people say they don't want Heaven to be a big choir.": I love music, but I think variety will be the spice of heaven.

3. "this is all crazy-talk. You cannot seriously be doubting that God does not know what we would find fulfilling; or believe that he would prepare an eternity of boredom for his people." This is nothing but a pejorative rant, missing your point completely.

4. "Well, think of it this way: It's a better option than hell,": So true, so true!

5. "you are not talking like a believer in Jesus. your comments are preposterous. it's impossible for a Christian not to enjoy heaven. you do not speak like a born again Christian either." This nothing but a judgmental rant, completely beside the point.

6. "However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him". This is a very good reply.

7. "This is the only appropriate reaction really. ". Not at all constructive or thoughtful.

8. "The New Jerusalem is a place where the saints start afresh and remember nothing prior to that." This is debatable but moves the discussion forward. It is part of your point that I have also pondered: Will the lessons learned on Earth be completed in Heaven?

9. "It's not possible to be in heaven and not enjoy it for all eternity. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor 2:9 (KJV) And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:10 (KJV) Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph 3:20". Another good reply that builds on #6.

10. "After my Mom and Dad died in 2024, I read 2 books on Heaven... Heaven is anything but mundane and boring. People are actively busy. They are seen walking with their families. They work for God in things they enjoy. People are happy. No suffering. The beauty. The worship. The illustrations of what Christ did, a panorama of the Cross. The throne room. Jesus in the midst of the people. Appointments with the King. Libraries of books with our names written. People in Heaven are allowed to see happy moments on earth, babies born, Revivals where people are saved *see Hebrews 12:1. In any event, it was a great peace to me to see what my folks were experiencing." Personal visions are rather problematic, but encouraging nevertheless!

11. "It says it's beyond your current imagining So that'd mean it's beyond your current doubts & fears too things have the potential to be decent here on earth, that also should be a type of proof for OP that such things are possible Desirable even We believe we'll be restored after death, where else would we want to go but be with God?" Yep, alternate reality is beyond imagining, but not beyond possibility.

12. "I commend you on introducing a novel topic, and although I have not worried about it, I have wondered about it. My wondering and pondering has concluded with these two realizations: 1. It is impossible for finite human brains to conceive of alternative reality in detail or other than by way of analogy, which is why Jesus employed figurative language including parables. 2. We can begin to imagine enjoying heaven for at least a few minutes if we think about how much fun it would be to explore earth if we could do so with friends safely and leisurely. In truth, we may have so much fun that we would be happy being bored for awhile, and if we ever decided heaven was undesirable, Satan showed that there is an express elevator that only goes down." This obviously is the best reply so far. :^)

13. "Did it ever occur to you that you are demeaning God with this thread?": Obviously this thread is beyond his comprehension.

14. "In the Old Testament we read in several passages of Scripture where several people were rewarded not just things they needed but also many things they desired. Even the Bible claims that God knows the [(desires of our hearts)]. Everyone In Heaven that gave up treasures on earth to build treasures in Heaven will eternally have their desires rewarded unto them. This means you will absolutely love Heaven. It's not only where our Lord God and Savior will be but also where our Rewards will be." This reply is positive but problematic to think human desires are better than God's rewards.

None of us can say we have an understanding of Heaven.
Actually, we can; because Jesus taught us about it. Sorry if you can't say the same.
What you don't have is compassion for a fellow Christian.
Wrong. If I didn't have compassion, I would have laughed at the OP and not posted anything.
You have no idea what they're going through or how it feels.
Also wrong; because I've had issues with double mindedness myself. At the end of the day, if your feelings are wrong; then they are lying to you. Do you like being lied to? I don't.
A person doesn't just set aside emotional issues as they would taking off a shirt to throw in the hamper.
Actually, you do. That is a great example of what needs to be done. You don't leave your poop lying around the floor in your house- you flush it down the toilet.

If your emotions are wrong, then they are WRONG. Some men feel like they should be women. WRONG! Our feelings LIE. And that's really the end of it. We need to accept God's truth and reject the lie- that is really the only way our feelings are going to change.

I don't concern myself what heaven will be like. I know that whatever He has planned for me there will be nothing short of wonderful.

2 Cor 12:4 tells us that Paul "was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell".

As for me, I feel unworthy to stand before Christ. But He saved me when I was at my absolute lowest, and set my feet upon a Rock. Whatever heaven will be like is irrelevant; I will be with the One who flooded my soul with peace when before all I wanted to do was self destruct.

Let scripture be your guide, it's been said that "Our emotions are the shallowest part of our being".

Actually, we can; because Jesus taught us about it. Sorry if you can't say the same.
Your sarcasm only proves you can read.

Wrong. If I didn't have compassion, I would have laughed at the OP and not posted anything.
Instead you laughed at them in a post. Because your arrogance couldn't help itself to obey the scriptures.

Also wrong; because I've had issues with double mindedness myself. At the end of the day, if your feelings are wrong; then they are lying to you. Do you like being lied to? I don't.
You speak as 9 e who doesn't know the actual biblical meaning of double mindedness.
See below.

And that screed just proved it.

Okay, sit there and white-knight for anti-christ whataboutisms and trash the people telling the truth. Pathetic. You have no idea what I do or do not understand about this topic, coddler. The ideas popping up in OP's head should not be entertained for a second, they are lies from hell.
