What if you cannot really enjoy heaven?

Do you also worry about this?

What if while we're here we look forward to heaven and everything being perfect and then once we get there

we notice that we cannot really enjoy it or grasp it? Or what if after a while we forget how much this world sucked

and thus our gratefulness declines?

This is scary.

I also cannot imagine being totally happy and without any care, can you? To me this is unreal. I just can't imagine it.


Or what if it's like looking forward to a special event like Christmas and then when you finally get there you don't really

"feel" it?

Or what if heaven is so perfect that it becomes boring, like playing a game and you have all the cheat codes and thus it

loses its attraction? That would also be scary.
 
What ifs cause anxiety if you obsess too much since we don't know details.
Live for now, not for a 401K plan.

This is why Christ said, "leave all the burdens to me and let tomorrow worry about tomorrow".

I do not have this worry but I know some people say they don't want Heaven to be a big choir.

you are not talking like a believer in Jesus. your comments are preposterous. it's impossible for a Christian not to enjoy heaven. you do not speak like a born again Christian either.

The people that will be in heaven are led by the Spirit.

So in heaven they have the nature of God in goodness and thinking so they will not be bored for God would not get bored.

You will not find it not exiting nor would you care about entertaining yourself as on earth.

Your priorities are different and will only go by the Spirit and the flesh is not in the way and would the Spirit say it is not exciting here when He created the heaven.

Also God said He is creating a new heaven and earth and the former shall not be remembered for it is associated with sin and rebellion.

The New Jerusalem is a place where the saints start afresh and remember nothing prior to that.

They will not remember the people on earth, their pets, the fun things they did on earth, entertainment, and the such.

So how could they be bored in heaven when they have nothing to compare it to for they do not remember anything before that.

They will not say I sure miss playing basketball, or playing my guitar, or skiing, or whatever they enjoyed on earth for they will not know about those things.

They will only know of the New Jerusalem and what happens there.

But that is at the new heaven but they will not be bored at this current heaven for their desires are different.

The flesh is gone which it is the flesh with the problems but in the Spirit it is peace, love, and joy unwavering.

It's not possible to be in heaven and not enjoy it for all eternity.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor 2:9 (KJV)

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:10 (KJV)

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph 3:20 (KJV)

After my Mom and Dad died in 2024, I read 2 books on Heaven, one, in which, a lady was guided through Heaven by the Lord and shown things. Her name is Mary Baxter and the book is A Divine Revelation of Heaven. The other is a book about a man who was in a fatal crash and literally died and came back. Forgive me, I cannot remember the title right off hand. In any event, Heaven is anything but mundane and boring. People are actively busy. They are seen walking with their families. They work for God in things they enjoy. People are happy. No suffering. The beauty. The worship. The illustrations of what Christ did, a panorama of the Cross. The throne room. Jesus in the midst of the people. Appointments with the King. Libraries of books with our names written. People in Heaven are allowed to see happy moments on earth, babies born, Revivals where people are saved *see Hebrews 12:1.
In any event, it was a great peace to me to see what my folks were experiencing. I only wished I was there. I did have a unique experience one day. I was at home and zi was listening to Michael W. Smith's song, The Throne. I raised my hands in praise and worship and it was like zi knew my Mom was praising Jesus at the Throne just in a different dimension above me. You see, I had felt a painful separation since I couldn't see her or talk to her anymore but it was as if there was a connection between us as we worshipped the King! Boring? Disappointing? Not on your life!!!

So that'd mean it's beyond your current doubts & fears too
OP speaks about "earth sucking" and related things but things have the potential to be decent here on earth, that also should be a type of proof for OP that such things are possible
Desirable even
We believe we'll be restored after death, where else would we want to go but be with God?

I commend you on introducing a novel topic, and although I have not worried about it, I have wondered about it.

My wondering and pondering has concluded with these two realizations:

1. It is impossible for finite human brains to conceive of alternative reality in detail or other than by way of analogy,
which is why Jesus employed figurative language including parables.

2. We can begin to imagine enjoying heaven for at least a few minutes if we think about how much fun it would be to
explore earth if we could do so with friends safely and leisurely. In truth, we may have so much fun that we would be happy being bored for awhile, and if we ever decided heaven was undesirable, Satan showed that there is an express elevator that only goes down.

We are told in the bible that the things that cause us sorrow and sadness will not be in heaven:

““And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”” (Re 21:4 NKJV)

I agree that it is difficult here on earth to imagine being totally happy, but that is how God describes His heaven. The idea that we could ever be bored there doesn't come into it, because boredom by definition is a bad thing, and there is nothing bad in heaven.

Did it ever occur to you that you are demeaning God with this thread?
 
In the Old Testament we read in several passages of Scripture where several people were rewarded not just things they needed but also many things they desired. Even the Bible claims that God knows the [(desires of our hearts)]. Everyone In Heaven that gave up treasures on earth to build treasures in Heaven will eternally have their desires rewarded unto them. This means you will absolutely love Heaven. It's not only where our Lord God and Savior will be but also where our Rewards will be.

I am asking a question which I struggle with. I wasn't aware that this is not allowed.

God knows it anyway, so asking it makes no difference. I was just hoping for some helpful replies.

I wasn't expecting to be judged at a christian forum. This is concerning and should not happen.
 
Btw, I am aware that my fear seems irrational, but this doesn't make it go away.

I simply cannot imagine something I don't know. I also couldn't imagine what it feels like to be a cat.

Seems like some people here don't seem to be able to comprehend something like this.
