What if God had written IN STONE?

also, would still like to have the answer to this:

what commandments did Jesus say we could keep to the perfection that is required by God?

if someone counts that irrelevant, it most likely means even a google search has no answer because there is not one and Jesus did not teach the 10 commandments

Maybe the Moral to the Garden Story is if God made us perfect, we would screw it up.

So, He made us after Adam to be imperfect so we want to be perfect like God.

The congregation of which I am a member is in turn a member of a denomination. As the matter is irrelevant to this discussion (and almost every one on this board), I choose not to share which, other than it isn't "Baptist".
 
Speaking of Denominations, my cousin married a wonderful Filipino woman. She now lives here in the States but over yesterday's Holiday Dinner, we were all discussing current Israel Events and Christian suffering.

She said her protestant group, from her homeland suffers quite a bit.

She went on to explain, the big church in her Homeland promotes her people are the Chosen people we read in the Bible.

I asked, are you saying the Filipino people is really the Jews of the Bible.

She said, that is what they teach.

I have never heard that before.

She said she knows differently and some in her Church are big time scammers. Scamming the world for money.

I said, that's in almost every Church.

Thank you Dino for letting me know. These denominations are new to me. I do not have a church to go to but I have the word of GOD through the Holy Bible.

I am sorrry that the truth displeases you. I have quoted very clear scriptures to you they are not to be interpreted, jesus says the same thing in many different ways through scriptures.

I don't think you know me enough to judge me like that, I know the commandments are not done with as Jesus say this clearly. I know however that we cannot saves ourselves by following the law (10 commandments). Only Jesus who came to us to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven could fulfill this. With Jesus's death and suffering, he made it possible for us to have salvation and eternal life. However I just want to make the point that the commandments did not end with Jesus on the cross and are still valid, after his resurrection, Jesus did ask the disciples to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven to all and teach ALL NATIONS what he did teach them, this includes the commandments because he was preaching the proper way to keep them with the heart, We want to keep the commandments because we LOVE the father, unlike the pharisee that transformed the law for their own purposes, added to it and had no love in their hearts, it is why Jesus said, if you LOVE me follow the commandments.

verses;
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Clearly, the commandments are not only for the jews but for all.

About Jesus fulfilling the law, here is what Jesus says about it in detail, HE explains the proper meaning not the usual meaning people attribute to this saying;

Luk 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all this must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and inthe psalms, concerning me.

as you see clearly, it is about all the prophecies concernong Jesus not the end of the LAW!

Jesus words are true.

I will explain in more details in January like I said I will start another thread then. I will not ne back on this thread. so no answer necessary, we will discull later

That is an erroneous statement. He taught the true spiritual meaning of the Ten Commandments (in the Sermon on the Mount and other places), so in fact He did teach them.

Furthermore, they have been incorporated into the Law of Christ (which is also the Law of Love or the Law of Liberty).

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law. (Rom 13:8-10)

Paul is specifically referring to the Ten Commandments (not all are listed thus "if there be any other commandment") but he calls them "the Law". There are other passages where "the Law" means either (1) the entire Tanakh (OT) or (2) just the Torah (five books of Moses).

ALL of the law was fulfilled by Jesus on the cross. when He said 'IT IS FINISHED' He completed what God sent Him to do.

Jesus never said He was hoping we could somehow do one better or help Him out. ALL of the law is still in effect for those who decide they need to keep parts of it which is why we are warned not to try that but to depend entirely on Jesus for our salvation.

unless you can keep all of the law, which no one can, it is useless to keep telling others to TRY and keep them

The Ten Commandments were not designed to bring salvation but to bring conviction of sin. Thus "the whole world is guilty before God".

ROMANS 3: ALL ARE GUILTY AND ALL NEED TO BE SAVED
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Then Paul presents the way God saves guilty sinners -- justification by grace through faith:
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Jesus blood is what is acceptable to God. Not your efforts at trying to be good.

“It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
Hebrews 9: 23-26

sin is only done away with, forgiven and forgotten, by the sacrifice of Jesus.
