Hi Tazzo :)

Thanks for the insights of you! It had good vibes for me.

I'm living somewhere that if you don't care for your mental health you'll drown in dark thoughts and burden of everyday life. Shadow of war, persecution, all sorts of nation wide crisis, ... you name it.

So even before Christ shown me the path, I decided to have strategies to survive and be happy in my environment. I try to live in the moments (And trust my Shepherd). I focus on one thing at a time. If its time for me to do my job, job is only thing that I thing of. If I pray, Lord is the only thing that I think of, etc.

Sometimes when I'm feeling down and need to do something for myself, I play harp, guitar or write hymns and musical pieces, sometimes I read books. Or I go out and walk in nature and mountains. Or when I really need an emergent up lifting for my spirit, I grab my Harp and go to top of mountain before sunrise and play for myself (And make a delicious Omelette for myself on fire :D )

Today was a work day for me. So I tried to be a professional. But felt a little down. So I left my job for an hour and gone somewhere to eat a meal. I met an interesting old fellow and we talked about life and meaning of goodness, and all sorts of cool deep stuff :D It did made my day and I back to work.

I pray for you to always be happy
God bless you

That is a good quality to have, to be able to concentrate to one thing and not worry about whats around :)

Walking in the nature is one of the best ways to boost ones mood..
But your harp playing in the mountains sounds picturesque and very relaxing with a breakfast too! :D

May God bless you 🙏

I'm sorry to hear that. What kind of problems do you expect? (I hope there aren't any rats living there. )
I kind of wish it were just rats... I know I should have started with this one in the beginning, like my brother suggested years ago..
They (original builders) left some wooden beams through the bottom concrete to hang around, they are not attached to anything, so they rotted away as the time went by. There are only holes to the ground which brings a moisture to my insulation etc...

But I got mine done too!

But it looks like you were earlier. I did mine last Saturday.

Yay, both of us finished.. on that part  At least I have a ton more to do, but already managed to install a wooden dowel to across my bathroom for drying my laundry. So thanks again for getting me inspired to do stuff. :D

Hey, how did you get into my house to take this photo?

I wanted to post in here when this thread was new but my plantar fascitis flared up from doing HIIT on the treadmill right when it was almost healed. So I couldn't do much of anything for the past 2 weeks or so, plus I was under the weather.

But today my foot pain is low enough that I could do some things. And my cold is almost cleared up.

I added coolant to my car's radiator and ran the engine to see where it was leaking in hopes I could fix it with some JB weld, but it's leaking from where the metal meets the plastic so it needs replacing. :cautious: But on a positive note, I replaced the steering fluid in my mom's SUV because it was making noise whenever the steering wheel's turned, and now it's silent. :giggle: I also finally threw out a bunch of empty boxes that had been piling up. My next project is to clean the aquarium. Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, that a bummer to not be able to do something when in pain (or just to have a pain in the first place).. I hope you are now all better! :)

Knowing how to repair cars is.. just so perfect... Last month I waited almost 3 weeks to get my car to get fixed, as there were no earlier times available. :cautious:

Ohh, I do remember cleaning aquarium when I had it.. I did get rid of it because it felt like to too big task to do. But aquariums are nice to have otherwise, if one is not as lazy as I am..
What kind of fish do you have living in there? :D

I used to have a lot of fish in my aquarium. One year a fish had babies. There were so many. Probably 30-40 red swordtails, but over the next 2 years or so they all got sick and died. :( Now I only have 3 little fish. Two neon danios (1 pink, 1 yellow) and a tiger barb tetra. I plan to get another tiger barb so he has company. I thought the other 2 fish were tetras when I bought them.

I had a car that I put over 500,000 miles on and so I learned to troubleshoot problems and do very minor repairs and maintenance.

my favorite thing to do. not in a band though. why? there aren't enough talented players around. however, lately, a whole bunch of local musicians suddenly, desire to be in a band. a few are top quality. something may spring up, i'm working on it. there's so much to consider: style, approach, image, compatibility, staying power, lights, sound, revenue, rehearsal space, establishments to gig at, quality equipment, transportation of equipment, time slot, price per gig, etc. then you have the strict dwi laws & insurance to deal with. its not like it was in the old days. you could be in any style band & if you were good enough, you had work all the time.
I was in a few bands in the 90s. It was fun, nothing serious. We all had day jobs. I think the past few years inspired a lot of people to start learning or re-kindling old love for an instrument.

how so on your last statement?

Oh that doesn't sound good at all. But you should probably have it fixed by a professional, which, as you say, probably won't be cheap. In that case, you don't live in rented place? Otherwise, the landlord would have to fix it.

Yay, both of us finished.. on that part
Yes, and I lost, which means I have to clean your car. But wait, we don't live in the same city... not even in the same country. How are we going to do that? Hmm... Do you perhaps have an old fax machine lying around? Then maybe you could fax me your car. ;)

So thanks again for getting me inspired to do stuff. :D
You're welcome, anytime again. :)

What...? Miles, not kilometers? Because if it's miles, that would be 805,000 km. o_O That's incredible. I just had to retire my beloved car with 300,000 Km (186,000 miles) and thought that was a lot. Well, it actually is, because not everyone reaches that milestone. But you beat everything. Congratulations!

Yes, it's miles. I used to commute 80 miles round trip to work everyday and I liked to drive to the beach often, and go mountain biking and I'd always be out and about. It was a little honda that I owned for 15 years. I sold it because I developed knee pain and it was a stick shift.

So, it is hard to you to start the tasks? Or you can start easy and it is hard to finish them?
Depends on my mood. When I'm depressed, super hard, when I'm manic, super easy. I'm better at following through now and make an effort to sustain what I started but I used to start projects all the time that were abandoned halfway through.

Or you don't face this problem at all? How, what is your super power?
I found the secret - SUGAR. And lack of sleep, where I would continue until I was exhausted. Insomnia helps.

What gives you the boost to do things?
See above. I think it was this secret ingredient in a smoothie I consumed that had polydextrose in it. I don't take drugs like speed or stimulants at all. So I think it was that. Once I found out I was like I can't have too much of this because then I'd feel like supergirl or wonderwoman or something. Then I start believing I can fly....

Do you listen to radio, music or podcasts? Sermon maybe?
Music, definitely. When I was working in the library, audiobooks or radio NZ about books. No sermons, that was what I actually went to church for.

Do you do better if someone is over? Or when you are alone? While on a phone call?
It takes two to tango, but I don't do much tangoing at all. When I'm on the phone (now cordless/mobile) I can move around. Remember when phones had cords?! And we called them 'telephones'. When we had telephones I would lie in bed when the phone was next to the bed, so it was relaxing, or sit on the floor. I would have deep and meaningful conversations on the telephone, if it didn't cost to call. Back when long distance had cheaper deals, we would take advantage of it.

If you are married, do you feel easier to do things now or back then when you lived alone? Do you prefer to do things together?
Not married. Not alone. Parents have their way of doing things so if doing things together I had to do things their way

What are the factors that affect you? Time of the day, darkness etc?
Easier for me to write at night as that's an activity that doesn't disturb anyone in my own room

Do you set up a time for some tasks?
Yes morning wake up routine, chores, washing, bathtime, bedtime. Dinner time I need time to prep and then cooking

Do you write up the things you need to do in order to get them done?
Yes shopping requires lists otherwise I forget or buy the wrong things/waste $$

Hope that helps! Also diary is used for time management, planning ahead.

A soak in Epsom salts should help with the pain and inflammation 🤓.

Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks so much. <3 I watched a couple youtube vids by these 2 physical therapists that I often watch when I have aches and pains and they showed how to stretch the foot and massage it for p. fascitis and I tried it and it made a world of difference.

I second the Epsom Salts. Magnesium really makes a difference. It relaxes the muscles, and relieves things like constipation. And it is easy to find at the pharmacy or supermarket, and cheap.

I am not dum enough to rent place like this... which makes me dum enough to own a house that no one wants o_O 😅 Guess living in the countryside won in my head.

Oh bummer, I must have not read the fine print on our contest, where it said that winner is responsible for the delivering the car to get it cleaned..
I only have an old type writer, it most likely does not have any properties near faxing.
You take carrier pige🕊🚙

I did 250 K and type at 40 wpm.
That's as far as I know. I don't have a fitbit. But I heard you can get it as an app on the smartphone.

After a week off from work, this week at work and after the work felt like I was drained from all of my energy. Seriously, working bothers my free time!

So yesterday I finally put my clean laundry away, that had been sitting on the laundry room counter, folded, for a week..

Almost finished my firewood carrier, it just needs a handle now.. I need to find the tools now.

And most of all, I washed my dog! And brushed her (which she really hates). Her legs looked soo dirty, which just ended up being loose fur

So this morning I woke up to this like someone had been fleeced during the night
Fur.jpg
And work that had to be done, brush her even more and then vacuum all that away. Great.

Fleas. Dealing with them ugh.
Worse than fleas though was nits. When I worked in a school, I had nits in my hair. Dealing with them was another chore.

I only read... "own a house" and "in the countryside" the rest I ignored, and now I'm jealous.

Carrier pigeons? Of course! How many do you have? Because I'm not sure if one would be enough to transport a car. Okay, thinking about it, getting the car through the fax machine probably wouldn't have been that easy either. ;)

But you're right, the winner shouldn't be responsible for delivery... I was just being lazy, that's why I came up with the fax machine idea...

I know that feeling all too well. Especially from my earlier days, it's not quite as bad now.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one this happens to.

We had similar experiences with our dogs when I was a child. I was glad that it was mainly my mother's responsibility. ;)

But you know what else is crazy? This corner reminds me so much of my dad's living room. The carpet and the curtains. Very similar. :D

I just found these photos and they're not the most recent ones. That was when we were rewiring the speaker cables.

First of all, hopely you do not compare finnish countryside to Swiss countryside... yours would win for sure. :D
And is it so that people in there want to move to a countryside? Because in here it is the opposite. People want to go to larger towns and countryside becomes empty.

So here, you can get a house even for 5k€, that house has a lable "to be demolished", you don't have to do that, but the seller wants no responsibility for what problems you will find in that house..
Also I have seen 25k€ for a habitable house, that just needs some upgrading, and may or may not have problems somewhere.. or then there just is no job opportunities around.
These are the houses that are mostly build within 2 decades after the war...

You are very welcome to move to Finland  I'll gladly show you those fixer uppers, so you can get your own sawdust house.

Uhh, currently no pigeons.. I need to go trap some :D

I bet the fax would have scrathed my car, or should I have just sent you the inside of my car?
Or maybe I just wait until you decide to get those sawdust houses from here and I can redeem that car cleaning then.:p
