isnt it obvious
they like shooting ...people, animals, children doesnt matter to them
if you gonna shoot something, why not take up photogrpahy or shoot some pool
or go to a shooting range
or do something useful like hunt rabbits or something.(for food)

Whatever people legally do with their guns is not your business or mine. My husband has a CCW as does my father. Neither of them hunt. Their guns are for protection, and that's their business, not the gov't, yours or anyone else. To compare a legal gun user to the murder that shot innocent children is complete and utter nonsense.

like alcoholics can stop drinking, most sober, normal people that drink they know their limits, alcoholics dont and dont even know or care about the consequences when they get pickled. Try reasoning with an alcoholic when they are drunk, you cant.
so, same with guns. except identifying the gun addicts would be the hardest part because, nobody wants to admit this, own up to it, or actually recgnise the problem. and of course the weapons manufacturers dont want to say anything, cos thats how they make their money

If you or anyone else doesn't think this kid wouldn't find a way to kill people you are fooling yourself. Homemade bomb, whatever. He was intent on taking lives. It wasn't a gun addiction, he was willing to die to take someone with him, he didn't care who. Had the school been properly guarded he'd have gone to another soft target and taken as many lives as he could.

weapons and ammos people strangely silent

...crickets chirping...

Nope, not silent at all. Why should we be? We didn't do anything wrong. In my fairly small town we have about four different schools of different levels. One of the elementary schools is armed, says it on the sign outside. My husband use to work in the delivery business and he was there almost every day and still had to be buzzed in and out. A couple years ago the police got a tip about a guy ,the same age as this shooter, that was planned to shoot up one of the schools in town. They were so close that they literally pulled up behind him in his driveway and arrested him on his way to take down the school. Wanna guess which school he WASN'T planning to shoot up? You're dang right, not the school that tells you they are armed and ready for you. THAT is what will stop school shootings, period.

I can see that the cries for more restrictive legislation on guns is booming, but apart from not letting young people, felons and mental cases purchase guns I can’t see any reason why law abiding citizens should not be allowed to own or carry guns.

Seems this thread has entirely missed the fact that a GUN took down the shooter and stopped the killing.

If a disinformation board did just work, they would stop inflammatory nonsense like this.

Instead of being serious and sitting down to find real solutions to gun violence, they are purposely stoking the fire with the hope of a civil war resulting. They are NOT for peace. Nor are they journalists.
Summer of love...just in time for the mid-terms. They'll once again get people stirred-up emotionally, make all kinds of promises, and if elected, they will do their little dance and in the end, do nothing that they said they would. Don't believe me? Ask liberal Jimmy Dore, for one.

I have a solution; since guns are intrinsically evil, we should petition our representatives to write up a bill, pass it into a law which will eliminate all guns. Lets even have a government with no guns. No guns for cops, no guns for the military; none, zilch. problem solved. Reckon that would work? Or do you only trust government to have them? How did that work out for Nazi Germany, Commie China, and the Soviet Union?

Good point. Why should only dictators, armies, and criminals have guns?

If I could snap my fingers and do away with all guns, I would. But I live in the real world with real evil people. So let's deal with reality.

I agree....and citizen gun ownership is a major tenant of the constitution in the Bill of Rights.

However...I do take issue with corporate responsibility for making them so inexpensive and plentiful and marketed in the worst neighborhoods the most.

Sportsmen needing handguns usually don't live in urban environments.

But at the same time firearms are an extremely simple device.

And most stolen guns are stolen out of unlocked vehicles. There's a huge number of those running around.

Ghost guns, which are half assembled unregistered firearms. (You finish assembly and then you have a completely functional unregistered firearm...all the way up to a class three with extreme noise suppression...no permits by anyone)

And just for the record...

Power doesn't corrupt.
Power attracts the corruptible.

yes, be consistent . if some can't have guns, then let no one have guns.

Simple Solution to School Shootings

There is a very simple and straightforward solution to school shootings. Just provide the same level of security to schools that you have at school board meetings.

the same people that were calling for parents to be arrested at school board meetings are now calling for gun control....

Simple solution to being called a domestic terrorist by the school board, just pull your kid from the school. BTW that also works better at keeping your kid safe than 10 guards at the school.

its kinda weird seeing people deny their own gun addiction

its like alcoholics insisting that drinking alcohol is not their problem its just everyone else who wont let them drink.

?!
Many recovered alcoholics would probably tell you that alcohol was not their problem because it really wasn't. It was simply a symptom of a problem. A larger problem. A deeper problem. A more personal problem. A painful problem. An unidentified, undealt with problem. This is not to say that alcohol use and abuse did not or does not create its own set of problems, which interfere with physical health, mental health, social constructs, family plus other intimate relationships, and/or job responsibilities. Alcohol is addictive after all. Comparing alcohol abuse and addiction to gun abuse and calling it an addiction just seems silly. Some of these attention seeking misdirected teens who go gun toting to relieve themselves have probably never even shot a gun before.

But they still get your money, so they don't really care. If every parent pulled their kids from school, the administrators would be happy as clams.

Guns, as with all physical material, are neither good nor evil. To think otherwise...isn't that what gnostics believe?
