I’ve seen people espouse Calvinist doctrines here without even realizing it so it isn’t that far-fetched of a thing that maybe you did it too. I don’t know what the specific example of what you’re referring to is, but you don’t even know what Calvinism is by your own admission, which means if you held a Calvinist perspective on something you’re incapable of rooting it out and changing it. Also, you’ve probably blocked everyone who’s ever tried to help you here. So I guess good luck.

I think people especially dislike the Calvinist doctrine because of it’s interpretation that there are elect who are predestined to salvation. By extension, it means that God must ultimately have a hand in annihilating people. Calvinists hate the fact that if their interpretation of predestination is accurate then we can stop preaching the gospel and sin as much as we want because God already decided who is saved and isn’t. It’s just a hot mess.
A lot of people use names like Calvinist intended to be derogatory though, but often people throw the baby out with the bath water. That’s a propaganda technique called demonization. If people can associate their opponent with the bad qualities of a group then they’ve effectively damaged their credibility in the eyes of onlookers.
It’s more effective than you think because people in general are simple enough to be totally deceived by surface level appearances.

Well I've been around here some time...not my first membership
I well remember the 'Calvinists' who have actually been banned or left. Talk about rude? Condescending? Downright nasty and impossible to reason with? I'm not talking about you so no worries. There were also lengthy discussions about the man himself...Calvin the Inquisitor. It seems to me that those who are embedded and dirt deep into Calvinism bear some striking resemblances between that murderous individual with regards to temperament, rather than Christ.
Further, they seldom seem to talk about Him, but revel in all things Calvin.
It is also true that the ones who start these Calvin the man threads, are Calvinists and now it seems we have a new breed who basically believe as he taught but insist they are not Calvinists.
The other thing, is that being labelled an Arminian is not the flip side of the coin. I am neither.
I very much doubt that believing Jesus is God in the flesh come to die and pay our sin debt, or believing
Jesus was resurrected to life, are things that would get anyone wrongly accused as being a Calvinist.

T.U.L.I.P looks so much more appealing than T.U.U.R.P
You missed the point entirely.
Calvinists fully believe in all the tenets of THE Gospel unto Salvation. Just because some may differ with their interpretations on other issues doesn’t mean they aren’t saved Christians.

Yes I’m certain there have been those that have an unhealthy allegiance to Calvin. I’ve met a few in person as well, but again, most of the “let’s bash certain brethren” threads today go in one direction.
