like, what do I divide or multiply to get the cost of eggs here? .
Well, I'm guessing that the 'Egg Crisis' has come to an end. Last month I used my 'Safeway App' and bought 4 dozen eggs at $1.42 a dozen.
Two weeks ago, I shopped at Walmart, I bought the box with 5 dozen eggs for a total of $9.88.
Today, I went to Walmart and bought another box of 5 dozen eggs and the price had fallen to $6.82. That's only about 11 cents an egg.

I bought a flat of 18 extra large white eggs for $6.49 which works out to $4.33 a dozen...
if my math is correct .

I had some ducks until the neighbor's complained. We bought them young and they started laying after about two months. After they started laying, for all but two days, we got one duck egg a day. We sold them a few weeks ago, but still have eggs in the fridge. We sold them for $200, along with a couple of partly opened bags of feed, a couple of containers, and their house. I gave $20 for each duck last year. Maybe we spent $20 a month on feed and fed them lettuce and greens. I dug up dandelions to feed them in early Spring. They also liked to eat whatever bugs were running around outside the house.
Someone who works at Tractor Supply said customers complain that there aren't enough chicks. My guess is a lot of people are raising chickens in the back yard. So you could also try to find a supplier who could sell to you.Just make sure you've got chicken diapers and you're good to go!
Did they complain about noise or smell?
I have Muscovies. They don't smell because they pretty much free-range the backyard and they don't make noise like "regular" ducks. Unless neighbors are snooping over my fence, they can't tell I have them.
They haven't started laying yet but when they do we'll have a mixture of eggs to eat and eggs for the hens to hatch out.
