It was incredibly graphic showing how brutal crucifixions were, and what
our Lord went through due to His great and everlasting love for us...
And the actor that played the part of Jesus suffered greatly during and also after filming.

He took the role knowing he'd likely never work in Hollywood again. He was right.

However, the movie changed lives and I think was worth the price.

imdb (<= link) shows him in almost twenty roles since then (not counting 3 others in 2004).

Hollywood hates Gibson because Gibson doesnt need hollywood. I heard something about working with Gibson hurting actors chances for getting hollywood roles.

Just forget it. You all used this forum post to judge me.

I was saying that the movie, and people watching it, used it for the pleasure of watching Jesus get beat. And what all did was attack my faith.
Why would this be your conclusion as to why the movie grossed mega millions in boxoffice just on the domestic receipts alone?

Maybe consider people wanted to see a movie about Jesus that showed him speaking in Aramaic instead of English. Maybe we wanted to see the Biblical story portrayed as it occurred. Which would be brutal and show what Jesus suffered for us so that we would suffer no more.

Think from the heart of your faith in him. Not the worldly idea that is born from the Tempter.
