So I was asked a question and that question was how do you know you have the holy spirit?

For some I have seen they know because they can feel him when they are saved, my instance when I was saved was not merely believing I recieved him I literally jumped out of bed and was dancing around my room with a joy unlike anything I had ever known but the life that is in it the power that you feel coursing through you there is no mistake you have the holy spirit

But others do not experience this and it can lead to one asking how to know if they have it
does the spirit interact with everyone the same way? if one has to ask if they have it then do they have it to begin with? these are questions that one might have if they have not experienced him in the most powerful way imaginable and to be honest I don't know for sure if one has to experience him in such a powerful way to know they have him maybe some never do experience it yet have him anyways?

But in my own opinion the fruits of the spirit are how one knows for sure they are changed renewed in heart and mind and the love they have for people is the most profound evidence that they have him.

Yes, We each are called and each do as they do. I know from age 12, and yet got for many years caught up in this world as an Alcoholic. I have seen by God to stop, and have stopped. Not having to stop or getting told I better or else attitude from God
I saw what I had been doing for 14 years before quitting was not well for my soul. I was shown by God how I got caught up in Alcohol. I saw it and accepted it and stopped for over 42 years now. Taking one day at a time.
Yet still been in more adversities as well
Job 2:10
I choose to stand in trust to God, even through any and all adversities. Deeper in seeing Jesus go willingly to that cross without any flesh fight back at all. then seen risen. He went to death for us all, to give new life in his risen life. Today believe., see and be new without understanding this truth in and through you, simply, truthfully loving all the same as God did first through Son for us all to be viewed as if never sinned Col 1:21-22
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEP

Yes, Jesus said we will know Spirit-filled folks by their good fruit/works (Matt. 7:16-20).

Thank you Blain for your standing in God over self and anyone else!

You reminded me of Midrach, Shadrach and Abendenigo in the fire

Where King Nebuchadnezzar threw them in a fiery furnace for not bowing to his God, Who after seeing them not get burned up, then chose to believe God also.
Now seeing this Spiritually. I get into troubles(s) with other people in charge and get flogged, beat up, berated and so forth.
Might even have worldly counselors at me, like as in the book of Job did. Where they continued saying to Job, "You must have sinned otherwise you would not have all those troubles happening to you.
Job continued telling them, this is not over sin, God is not punishing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tired of the accusations of those worldly counselors, I saw Job get a little proud, arrogant, around chapter 32-34
And God said to Job, Did you make the Whirlwind, the Adder, this world?????????????

Job, humbled by God, saw to only be dependent on God, the Father in the risen Son, that had not come to earth yet, was Not yet known how all would play out. Now has is done by Son once for everyone to choose to believe God Father or not.
I see, it his not about sin, it really truthfully never has been. What?????????????????? Romans 14:23

What happened that day when Adam ate! Was it sin or unbelief that death would be if ate from the tree of both good and evil to then know?
People have turned that into sin, and better not do that again or God will get you, you not in, flesh attitudes taking the place of God. Is that not what that serpent said to Eve and Adam?
"You will be like God, knowing good and evil" To choose yourself, and not be dependent on God, that has been happening ever since, includes people saying they believe and yet in thier hearts do not, are being a selfish god and getting others under their thumbs to control others, using the Bible to keep control. as if one or many have to got through them to be saved, they know the way, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!
I am trusting God, learning to stand there and not be moved, (Col 1:21-23) not easy, and I know the fight continues between flesh nature and God's Holy Spirit, with the fallen Angels watching and butting in, to see us not get mad or get mad and say see God is not good, when God is the only one good and has asked us to join him freely, willingly too, thank you Lord
So in essence we are thrown into the fire, standing in belief, we do not get burned. that is the renewing of our mind sets by God for us, over all the troubles here on earth, we all go through, like a Job
Genesis 2,3 tells of what the serpent tells Eve and Adam was there too, hearing it too and ate with her too.

What does it mean to be spirit filled? like really spirit filled and how would that change us?
I met a person one time who had burns all over their body their skin was so cover with burns you could not see any skin without it but I could feel such immense life coming from them I wanted to talk to them about it but decided not to I really wish I would have but to me this person is a perfect example of being spirit filled to the point where it just pours out of you.

I think there is a difference between having the spirit and being spirit filled

I see the light, seeing new in truth from God.I heard this today

What good is sex, without wanting a child from it? I heard this: it is not good for my Soul.
God came to save Souls not the flesh, why?
All Flesh is dead to God, ever since Adam the first ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That does not make all people evil. The choice is between good and evil. The problem is man wanting to be God Psalm 82. Not dependent on God, is what happened on that day Adam and Eve ate from that tree, independence came out of that

No flesh pleases God but One Flesh, that be Son Jesus for us to adopt us in his risen life to live through us in love and mercy to all. That amazes me, now, seeing differently, presently. Even though I am in a flesh body, This body is dead to God, now dead to me, yet made alive in God's Spirit and Truth for people to decide to believe God or not and then to learn new being willing to learn from everything good or bed that has happened to them, happening and might have happened. Seeing in the present, is the present, God's gift. Future not here, yet. Yet, is within a split second, continuously
Past is gone just as fast as future enters. Phil 3, a well worth read To my soul at least
Amazing, how God remains faithful in keeping us reconciled by Son's done work, once for everyone. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!
How to turn to God, wanting to not ever sin again, and yet do sin again, regardless. Could what Paul says about being under Law seriously be the cause of one anyone continuing in sin? I see that now as truth, and have been learning the difference in holding up Law as good and seeing to not be under Law any longer, which only Father can do it, as is done by Son, once for us all,

How to learn new, and see new in God's Spirit and Truth? Not of the flesh nature any longer. That be sanctification happening in from God Father to me anyways, after sealed by God to become sanctified by God over never denying God, being willing to learn form God in our Souls, not our flesh anymore Eph 1:13, verses 6-7

But Lord, I just did it again? I know you know and I know I do not want to do that, yet do and have, what is happening?
Your self is in the way.. You are trying to do it, "I" God did it for you in Son for you. To believe, receive and see new, without having to figure it out

It is amazing how God uses everything that happens good or bad to show us God's love for us all regardless of others repudiating it or not
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The above is protection from God to all that choose to believe God
And God continues to call all. Continues in Love, mercy and Truth, even to those that do not yet believe God
You went through Hell, and came out, thanks to God reaching out. You chose, thank you Blain
Now I look at the story of Jesus, going willingly his onetime death for us all to get saved in his risen Life for us, and given to us by God himself
Who would go through what Jesus went through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would anyone else, even make a dare at that too. I only know this:
Stand in trust Col 1:21-23
God is good all the time as good is God all the time. People in general are not. And God has called us all to change our minds
John 13:34 to see new from Dad's view Romans 12:2
Thank you Blain for standing in belief still, thank you

Yes all things work out for our good this is something that is a simple truth a common one yet we tend to forget sometimes and allow circumstances to overwhelm us
and what Jesus had to go through is beyond what anyone has ever had to go through I was talking about this with a friend and he said to watch the passion of the Christ but I simply cannot stomach it from what I have heard the gore in it is so bad people have thrown up seeing it but that is of course what Jesus had to go through

It’s a little bit of a mystery since everyone’s experience is different.

yeah it does appear that way since my experience of it was... unique and when I tell people about it often times they don't know what I am talking about or haven't expereinced him in that way before. I have also heard of accounts where a full blown wind sound would be there and a sound of rushing water some intense testimonies but other people also don't expereince him in such a powerful way sometimes they are just filled with this sense of peace inside

He seems to interact with us differently

I know that I have the indwelt Holy Spirit because the Bible says that everyone who's trusting Jesus for their eternal well-being does. That's simple, sweet, effective, and powerful; and doesn't compel me to look inward for "proof" - just trust God's Word.

When you ask Jesus into your heart and life, He comes in and you’re saved (and going to Heaven). In my opinion, you have a measure of God’s spirit at this point.

Then there’s another baptism after this when you’re “endued with power from on high” and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Tongues generally follow.

Again, imo, you can be saved whether you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit or not.

Actually I don't think it says that anyone who relies on Jesus for their eternal well being has the holy spirit, and there are many people who call themselves Christians believe they are saved but show no fruits of the spirit show no gifting of the spirit and show no signs they have him.

Have you ever had to look inward and evaluate yourself? when you do if you do then look and see if the fruits are there if love peace and joy patience are not there then you do not have him. the proof one has him will be shwon by their fruits merely believing we have him does not mean we do merely believing we are saved doesn't mean we are. There are what is known as carnal Christians who are well versed in scripture but lack the empathy love and tenderness towards others no patience or peace no love in them at all they do all kinds of works believing it justifies them but it amounts to nothing in God's eyes.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Cor 6:19 (KJV)

how can one be saved if they have not received the holy spirit? isn't that kind of like being a carnal Christian?

Yes but this verse is out of context and when he was speaking of this it was not even saying that all who believe in Jesus have the holy ghost in fact it only is speaking of the holy ghost being insidde someone in this particular instance not speaking of him being in everyone after all not all who call him Lord know him and vice versa.

actually upon reading this again it isn't even saying anything close to that and also the audience of which he is speaking when he spoke this werew already baptized in the spirit.

When I prayed for forgiveness and to receive the Holy Spirit a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I saw a flash vision of a dirty garment turning sparkling white from the top to bottom, and what I can only describe as my heart moving slightly like being pushed inwards. My heart beat was clam that after.

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 1 Cor 1:2 (KJV)
