LolI've had several close calls over the years. One time I ran out of gas on the freeway and was gathering my things getting ready to to walk with my gas can. I was was standing outside the car bent over into it and the last thing I picked up was my 1911 45 pistol and shoved it in my belt and turned and turned around & Stood up and I was face to face with a city cop! I acted frustrated and said I'm out of gas! And He gave me a ride to the gas station and back to my car in his front seat with a 45 in my belt! I was sweatin bricks. I got away with it! Alll I did was not shoot the place up! You know how many banks I've been in armed to the teeth? I never did rob one! SO it really isnt hard to stay out of trouble.
One time I got attacked by a dog twice! And the second time I gave him a warning shot in the grass in front of him. (It was 4 paws in the air! Just like in the cartoons!) You see the first time I think the owner saw it and thought it was funny, but, I am a nice guy and it never got close enough to put's it teeth on me. Then 2nd attack I drew a line in the sand. And when he crossed it BANG!
The next day I saw the dog had a brand new new Tie-Out and Chain. Thank him for that, Now I wont have to shoot his dog. I dont want to. I know cops don't like warning shots, but I don't care. It worked beautifully. He ran right back home. (Bet the owner watched that too!)
What a great example of a Peace Officer! Glad to be able to say that i've met some like that too.
What did he say about your 45?
People can get hurt really bad by a bad dog.
I knew a mother whose child was mauled by a put bull. The poor little girl had PTSD at 4-5 years old. The mother really needed a pistol to put it down at the time.
I taught both my sons how to reload, and all 3 of my BiL (ex).
They are truly blessed to to carry on that that legacy! In more ways than one, you guys must have a blast when you get together.
