The first gun I ever fired was chambered in 303 British. It was fun, but I didn't leave with confidence or a true appreciation of the fundamentals.
 
Follow through is important with air as it takes longer for the projectile to leave the barrel.
A great start in the fundamentals!

I realized for the entire time that I was shooting, everyone had stopped playing and had stood to watch me. Also there were a few guys lounging and playing pool nearby. One of the guys just had their jaw open. (they may have tried the shooting deal)
That was kind of unnerving and funny.

I used to have a lot of fun playing paintball and trying my hand at archery. I want to try one of those shooting ranges in the USA, where people use actual armed rifles. I am sure it's not the same as an air gun but I would like to see if I would be good at it.

I would have paid money to see that... it's amusing to watch the guys get all macho and know-it-all when it comes to guns and shooting.....then get beat by a "silly girl"...

Actually, the shooting galleries I've been to all used 22 short "gallery" loads....your air rifle was likely more powerful than those...

Hickock 45 is the gun enthusiast grandfather I've never had.

You named my favorites. Hickock 45 is just a hoot to watch, and he has an uncommon level of common sense about him.

Colion is cool....again, lots of common sense..
 
They don't take themselves too seriously either. Seem like good range buddies.

I respect Nutnfancy, but I think he'd be too intense. After one or two shots, he would take a moment to loosen his plate carrier and go on a 45 minute rant involving "WROL" and sheepdogs.

I agree... he's got some good reviews, but he gets a little wound up sometimes...

The first gun I fired was a m-1 carbine. I think I was about 12-13.

I got my son a .22 mossberg when he was 6. Looking back on it maybe he was a little young for shooting. Oh, well. He had fun.
 
.22 at six? I know a guy in Mississippi who started his boy at 3. I wouldn't feel bad.

M-1 Carbine would probably be an easy one to shoot first I imagine.

Yeah, Max is licensed to shoot his mouth off...

It's all these un-licensed folks we have to watch... they should go through the training and get their license before they start shooting...

Looks like the Army has picked up the Sig P320 as their new service pistol.

This is a move I applaud. Great gun. A true piece of innovation without fluff.

I do have to point out that my Glock 19 is carried by SEALs. :P

I've been wanting to get a Glock 20.

Or the bigger Glock 40.

15 rounds of grizzly medicine. Versus 6 rounds in a .44 mag revolver.

I kind of want to get a .44 mag too...
 
Yeah, I turned 50 on the 12th of Jan...My brother is getting me a new Glock 45 wooohoooo......add it to my collection....a nice decked out hot mini 14, a Saiga 12, Walther 22, Ruger 22, Winchester 30-30, Numerous Shotguns both 12 and 20 etc.....and as a last ditch (they are coming in the door and I am out of ammo) effort---> a killer Tomahawk HAHAHHA
