Pretty distinguished, I know.... lol
I picked up my rifle this afternoon, and it looks like a winner. The bolt is not "slick" like a nice Mauser or Springfield, but it's smooth enough. It has a trigger like the AccuTrigger, and it's set pretty light. I can't wait to get the scope mounted, and take it out for a test run.
Won't be this weekend, though, as my wife and I will be going on a motorcycle ride down in the hill country... we're riding the "twisted sisters" down southwest of Fredericksburg. I'm really looking forward to it. I've ridden it a couple of times before, but this will be the first time on the new Road Glide.

You'd have to yell pretty loud, Des.... we'll be down by Fredericksburg Texas... down in the hill country. We'll be staying the first night in FBurg, then the next two in Leakey. (pronounced lake'-ee) Parts of the ride can be pretty scenic...
Makes me want to do something like that. Every area has scenic plates. I found this out traveling the country and world for my job. One place I remember clearly is the mountains by Adelaide Australia. Took a ride there and stopped at several wineries. Bought a case at one of them of their top wine they refuse to export. Never had any better. Our agent there had it shipped home for me. Miss not being able to get more. The area is very beautiful.
Unfortunately at 73 with bad knees I can't do it any more. Oh well. My memories remain anyway.
I was able to get to Brownells Saturday for the 2nd Amendment Day, over 50 vendors with some really cool stuff.FM-Products.com had a booth where I saw an AR upper with the charging handle forward on the left side allowing charging without coming off the stock, I thought that was interesting. How can we answer those who call for more gun restrictions after the latest school shooting? I think teachers ought to be allowed to carry concealed, just like any other citizen. But that is not what is going to stop school violence.

How do we prevent airplane shootings?
This stuff's not that hard to figure out.
Keep hammering on the issue the gun shootings take place in areas where guns are not allowed. They know that it will take time for the cops to get there so they can kill more people. If guns are allowed then a CC person could take them out too quickly.
Allow teachers and other adults to carry CC guns and advertise this. Shootings only happen in gun free zones.

There are ways around metal detectors especially if 2 or more are in on it. I remember one case had multiple shooters. The instigator wanted to shoot a particular person and used the others as a distraction. They figured it out by tracing the routes each took.

Just look at the junk these young people are filling their heads with. No wonder they are spinning off the rails. The music alone glorifies violence and hate. This all encourages youngsters to disrespect law and order.
