“Before me was No God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.”

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭KJV

“For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:”
‭‭Job‬ ‭19:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭59:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
I agree that Jesus' human nature died on the cross. Where we differ is I believe scripture reveals God manifests Himself as the Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Ghost in regeneration; not three distinct "persons" as later defined by the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople.

@Pilgrimshope reminded me of yet another scripture that reveals the truth:
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:10-11, 15‬ ‭KJV‬‬
‭ Dear Wansvic, The lord Jesus spoke about his father, Why thinkest thou knowest the mysteries of god? If you knew everything, you would not be a moral person. Can't you accept that Jesus has proclaimed his Father who is in heaven? And the Lord Jesus said the Father is Spirit, and he goes where he will. Jesus also said that the Father is always with him because he does the things that please the Father.

Jesus and His Father
Throughout the Gospels, Jesus often refers to God as his Father. For example:
  • John 5:19: “The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing.”
  • John 8:29: “The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.”
Jesus’ relationship with the Father is intimate and unique. He proclaims that his authority, mission, and actions are all rooted in his connection to the Father, who is in heaven.
The Mystery of God
You referenced the idea: “Why thinkest thou knowest the mysteries of God?” This reflects a recurring biblical theme: God’s ways and nature are often beyond full human comprehension.
  • Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”
  • Romans 11:33: “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!”
This humility before divine mystery is a key part of faith. If humans knew everything, as you noted, it might diminish the need for trust, humility, and moral growth.
The Nature of the Father
Jesus describes the Father as Spirit:
  • John 4:24: “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
  • John 3:8 (about the Spirit): “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.”
This highlights God’s transcendence and freedom. The Father is not bound by physical form or human limitations.
Moral Growth and Divine Knowledge
You mention: “If you knew everything, you would not be a moral person.” This suggests that moral development is tied to our limitations and our need to seek, learn, and trust.
  • If humans possessed complete knowledge, there would be no room for faith, humility, or the moral choices that shape character.
  • Jesus’ own example shows dependence on the Father, obedience, and humility—even though he is uniquely close to God.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Dear Wansvic,* This argument is over. Jesus wants you to pray to his Father, God. This acknowledges and pleases the Lord Jesus. Go in peace, brother. Amen.

Pointing out the lack of baptism in a certain verse does not prove the need for baptism or anything else.
The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. This is elementary, it should not have to be explained.
Quite the contrary. Eternal life is on the line. You know, the difference from burning forever in the Lake of Fire or having eternal life.

God is not going to leave us wondering. Seriously, do you actually understand what is at stake here?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. God would NEVER leave out getting dunked in a tank........eternal destinies are at stake.

I did not say God was "inside" Jesus. Jesus was fully God and fully man.

"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, ..." 2 Cor. 5:18-19

Don't miss the beginning of this verse........ALL the Prophets witness that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES.....

Acts 16:31

Nothing about getting wet.
In the referenced scripture, Peter states it is through Jesus' name that believers receive remission of sin. Notice it does not say believers receive remission of sin. But rather emphasizes that believers receive remission of sin; How? through Jesus name. A few verses later we see what Peter stated come to pass. Those who believed in Jesus were given the command to be water baptized, How? in the name of Jesus. (Acts 10:47-48)

If you will recall it was that same Peter who revealed the NT water baptism in the name of Jesus is for remission of sin as made possible by Jesus' sacrifice. (Acts 2:36-42)

You quoted part of John 3 but take a look at what Jesus said in verse 13 while standing right in front of Nicodemus.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:8-13

Yes, I know that the disciples were proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Son of God, and that believing in Him is the only way to everlasting life and salvation.
Belief consists of far more than a mental acknowledgement of who Jesus is. It involves placing total trust in what He reveals as established in the word and acting in accordance.

Notice Jesus told those who believed in him that IF they continued in His word, what they would come to know would set them free.

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31

And consider it was Jesus who told His apostles to "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15-16) And from elsewhere in scripture we know the preaching of the gospel included water baptism. "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20)

Obedience is crucial:
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Heb. 5:9

Take a look at another example of Jesus revealing who He is:

In John 14:26 Jesus says the Father will send the Holy Ghost:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

Afterward Jesus says it is He that will send the Holy Ghost.
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7

I'm reminded again of the words of Timothy:
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16

The scriptures reveal the connection between water baptism in the Name of Jesus and remission of sin. It's everyone's perogative whether to accept or reject what the scripture references reveal.

Remember it is the sum of God's word that reveals the truth.
Dear Wansvic, have you read Acts 2:38, which records Peter instructing the crowd at Pentecost, "Repent and baptize every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins." This directive is significant in light of Jesus' earlier words to Peter about "binding and loosing" in* Matthew 16:19. In that passage,* Jesus tells Peter, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven".

The "binding and loosing" authority given to Peter (and later to all the apostles—see Matthew 18:18) refers to the power to declare what is permitted or forbidden in the community of believers, essentially carrying out God's will on earth as it is in heaven. This authority included proclaiming how people should respond to the gospel, which Peter exercises in Acts 2:38* by instructing baptizm "in the name of Jesus Christ." The Greek grammar of "bind" and "loose" in Matthew 16:19, where the apostles declare on earth, reflects what has already been determined in heaven.* Did you know they are implementing God's will rather than acting independently?

Thus, Peter's instruction in* Acts 2:38 is an example of him exercising the *authority Jesus gave—*to open the way of salvation and set the terms for entry into the kingdom in alignment with heaven's will.

Psalm 23 (KJV): This is a psalm I love, and I love the Lord's prayer. I think about and say these prayers all the time.

    1. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
    3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
    4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
    5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
    6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Wansvic, you give me Psalm 119:160. Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever. But Wansvic, I haven't seen you do anything that glorifies the Lord. For his wonderful ways and for the great, unsearchable miracles he performs for us every day when we have a relationship with Jesus. In a relationship based on trust, we trust that Jesus will lead us as He says, 'Follow me.' Wansvic, with your argument, it seems like you are attempting to hijack the lead. Instead of trusting the word of God, you say that we must consider all the texts, but you have not fulfilled the quest because you have ignored Matthew 16-19. And we do not use the bible as a stumbling block for our own unfruitful entrainment. Do you thinkest thou that you are a bible scholar? 171 My lips shall utter praise when thou hast taught me thy statutes. Wansvic, your fruit does not reflect Psalm 171. This decision is now final regarding Baptizm, as referenced in Matthew 16:19. However, Wansvic, just so you know, when I was baptized in both names, the Jesus Christ of Nazareth and also in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit But not by my will but his will. Amen

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works.
Dear Irs68, The biblical pattern is that God "walks with" or is in close relationship with those who seek to please Him through faith, righteousness, and obedience. This is exemplified in the lives of Jesus Christ, the son of God; Adam, the first man; Enoch; Noah; Abraham; and Isaac. Jacob, Moses, and John the Baptist are examples of all believers demonstrating a lifestyle of faith and devotion. Do you think a spirit can't go into a person? Unto you I speak not from myself, but the Father abiding in me doeth his works. Yes, I know that God's Spirit abides with people who please God, and God spoke at Jesus' baptism, saying, ' This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased. 'What is your point? Go in peace, brother, and God bless you.

Dear Wansvic, these passages demonstrate that Jesus shares in the divine authority and mission of the Father. He is not just a messenger or prophet—He is God the Son, fully participating in the work of God. The sending of the Holy Spirit by both the Father and the Son reveals the unity and co-equality of the Father and the Son, as well as the profound mystery of how God works in the world.

1 Timothy 3:16 ties it together: the “mystery of godliness” is that God Himself came in Christ, and the work of salvation is a work of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Your question points to the heart of Christian teaching: Jesus reveals His divine identity by sharing in the Father’s authority to send the Spirit, and Paul calls this the “mystery of godliness”—God’s amazing, revealed plan to save humanity through Christ, in the power of the Spirit. This argument is finished. Go in peace, brother. God bless you.

God reveals the truth concerning various topics with at least 2-3 scripture references. Even the "witness" scriptures themselves in Matthew 18:16 and 2 Corinthians 13:1 follow this rule. Consider what this principle reveals concerning NT water baptism. There is not one instance of water baptism being administered using the phrase, "in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Whereas, every detailed account since it's inception in Jerusalem was done in the name of Jesus in accordance with His sacrifice.
What is the name of the father, that is a spirit and holy, and is the son,as The Word made flesh?

... Amen
I believe you are new to this site and may not realize discussions relate to a thread's topic. This thread pertains specifically to water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sins. So naturally, my comments pertain to that subject.

As to Jesus saying, "Follow me." It means we are to believe and obey what He says and ignore the voices that try to pull us in another direction. To suggest I am hindering one's walk by sharing what the bible actually reveals about water baptism is foolishness. It is through believing and obeying Jesus that the journey into all truth becomes possible.

Matthew 16:19 - reveals there is not 1 key to the kingdom, but rather keyS; plural. Jesus used the Apostle Peter to present the gospel message. And that message included the necessity to believe in Jesus, repent, and submit to water baptism in the name of Jesus FOR remission of sins. Those who believe and are willing to obey that message SHALL receive the Holy Ghost; it's a promise. Jesus' sacrifice made it possible for those who would believe and obey His life giving message to experience the reality of the NT rebirth. (John 3:3-5, Acts 2:4-42) And sharing this message is what God has called born again believers to do. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15-16...) It is far from a stumbling block for those who will receive it.

For the record, I am no scholar. Nor do I need or desire to be. I believe God and He says those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled. We are told to be diligent in the study of God's word. It is, or should be, the source that establishes what is and is not true. The enemy would like nothing better than to distract people and keep them from the truth. Why do you think there is such opposition to water baptism? The word reveals why. Belief in, and obedience to the command is what brings about remission of one's sins in association with Jesus' sacrifice. Keep in mind, no one will enter Heaven with the stain of sin.

Lastly, your comment implies I don't have a relationship with Jesus, something that is far from the truth. Without question the Lord God is worthy of all praise and glory; more than I could possibly ever give, but not for lack of trying. His love is beyond measure. And I am humbled to be on the receiving end of His loving kindness each and every day. It is trust in Jesus that leads me to believe what He says and act in accordance to HIS word.
