I had a deliciously long sleep last night, a good morning, snow is on the ground and the road - even my backroad - is somehow still mostly clear. I will easily be able to go to work and some people just *might* call in and give me a shot at overtime. :D

Hey I can dream.
 
I'm going to have to stop going to the CC main page. Over at the right they have the five most recent posts, and the most recent ones are usually predominantly from the BD forum (because they post SO MUCH over there) and they are usually full of insults. And I always glance at the list out of habit to get a thumbnail sketch of what people are talking about and I always regret it...

*Lynx curls up on his rock ledge perch on the CC Singles cliff face and takes a nap.

*Lynx gets up, posts his "No debaters allowed" and "Rock climbers welcome" signs and curls back up in a fuzzball.

I was a little shocked to find this because earlier this morning I was contemplating why God made such a beautiful world, but then put evil-hearted, selfish, imperfect mankind in charge of it. And as if that wasn't enough, he let the devil loose in it until he returns.. i even thought about starting a thread..
 
Sometimes, when doing support online, I come across sites of another region selling a product that someone is asking about. Awhile back, on Tom's Hardware, somebody asked about a Lenovo laptop. Their link lead me to this description (translated):

Supposed to be writing a 600 word essay. Barely two sentences in and I'm stumped. :/
 
So if anyone's watched Friends and seen the Janice character (her famous line being, "Oh. My. God!"), I pretty much said that phrase out loud for no reason at all... I'm pretty sure the neighbors heard it.
 
Siberian: I have Thinkpads. Got three of them currently, and they all work well. And your ad is right, that trackpoint on the keyboard sure is a hilarious duo.

I went to the DMV to give them entirely too much money to register my 2005 VW Jetta. I waited in line like a good Californiaian at the non appointment kiosk because I had managed not to lose the registration notice. I waited a long time, actually because the old dude in front of me kept reentering the same information, and the kiosk kept repeating quite loudly "I'm sorry, I cannot find the vehicle you're looking for. Would you like to try again?".


Sigh.


This went on for about a fifteen minutes.


"I'm sorry, I cannot find the vehicle you're looking for. Would you like to try again?"


At least there was a cute baby who giggled every single time the kiosk said it, which made everyone else laugh, so the baby laughed again, and it was adorable.


Anyway, Old Dude finally gave up, and I stepped up to the plate. I scanned the slip and a huge red box popped up. Apparently, I need to smog my car. Now, I read that blasted notice! The area where it's supposed to tell me to smog my car was vague. So, I read the new rules on the back of the notice. From what I gathered there, it sounded like I didn't have to smog my car until next year.


What did I learn?

*My state government is stupid.
*Government writings are written poorly on purpose.
*Kiosks are too loud but entertaining if a baby is nearby.
*I'm paying WAY too much for a 2005 car.
*Arnold Schwarzenegger was a horrible governor because he started most of this DMV nonsense.
