I think it is also safer to use a card in public. I prefer to tip with cash, if possible. Whenever I am counting cash, people look even sideways. It is not always safe to use the ATM. A person comes across as rich when using cash. With a card, no one knows if you are in debt or if you have a lot of money.
Since I had to slow down because of medical issues, I only have to buy gas once a month in each car,
I have two.
Also the Efff Bee Eye wants to know if you go on the bank and withdraw more than $1000 now.

Seems I am the old weird one here.
I just like the old ways and have a hard time adjusting to all these new ways.
Me too the old ways so so much better, like back when I was a kid my parents paid for everything for me. Just joking though I couldn't couldn't help myself.
That cuts a lot of Texans out were still stuck at a 7.25 min. wage, horse and buggies, stuff like that so everyone withdrawing a thousand dollars at a time's a bank robber and well that's efff bee eye territory.
I got my first part time job when I was 14.
My mom made me pay room and board. $5 a week.
When I graduated, she gave it all back to me.
Taught me to save and not waste money on foolish things.

I'm from the 60's myself. In those days Mom took me to the judges office and showed I was covered on their insurance because the businesses insurance would not cover minors. They gave us a minors release and I went to work at about 13. After that if I ask if I could have something Mom and Pop would say,I don't know how much money you got? We learned real quick to save and think. As to the gas pump equation of the thread I just go to the store and multiply how many gallons I need and the price per gallon and go inside and round it off a few dollars more and prepay. When the pump shuts off I get in the car and leave and it put's the change back on my card in just a few minutes. That's a Walmart plus card so I get the gas discount and can use it in the store both,
i use one that gives me in general a couple % back on everything, maybe a little more from a certain store or a certain category.
all of that i get back, i save all year and spend on others for Christmas. since i use it for most things, it usually amounts to a couple hundred dollars at the end of a year, which is a nice benefit.
that's actually been a US law (bank secrecy act) for withdrawals or deposits over 10,000 to communicate to the IRS since 1970. It was greatly expanded in the 2001 Patriot act

I don't usually don't have a lot of good things to say about Walmart I don't really like going inside,but. With the Walmart plus account you get free home delivery and so we just place an order online and set up a time for it and you can track it from their App on the map and so I pull the wagon to the gate and they unload it,take a photo and drive off. I live in the woods so it's a 20 mile round trip to Walmart if I drive myself. With WM+ you get streaming,Paramount+,Showtime,.10 gas(sometimes more), free deliveries to home scan and go ect. and others(my wife named the others so fast I couldn't type that fast,but there's others lol).
i find the DNC to be much more concerned with people, and the GOP to much more concerned with money, both in terribly misguided ways.

I'm also kinda blurry on this. I think $600 is when you deposit something. They will report or need to know where you got this cash.
Withdrawals? All i know is that the bank asks me when i withdrawal 2k or 3k. They say it's a new requirement by the 'gubment'. lol
They need a reason why you withdrawing.

Then Trump fired so many from the eff bee Eye I think I might withdraw 1001.00 a couple a months to see how long it takes them to quiz me on it. If they do I'm gonna tell them I took my family to McDonald's and wasn't sure with inflation how much to take.
you'll get 15 letters to fill out 5 forms and buy your own stamps to send them to 10 wrong addresses, to offices where no one will read them because only 2 people work there now, then start getting daily texts from your senator asking to send money to help stop democrats from making the system actually work
all so they can blame them for the system being broken!
