“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”

1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV)

Proverbs 8:17 - I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Lamentations 3:25 - The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(one of my favorite Scriptures)

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

God bless one and all. Have a wonderful Holiday Season, and remember "HE IS THE REASON!"

In the years I have been here, I have read comments (more than I care to remember) that say the birth of Jesus was not celebrated in Scripture. That our doing so on this day is "pagan" in it's origin. That is and is not true.

It is true that December 25th was a pagan celebration day, and that before Jesus established His Church here on earth, many gentiles joined in the pagan celebration. They did not know better for the Gospel had not been preached to them.

With the establishment of the New Covenant, Grace, and the growth of the Christian Faith and it's preaching to the gentiles, the Church leaders wanted to give the newly converted gentiles something to celebrate. That decision led to our celebration of the birth of Jesus on December 25th. AND, celebrating His birth is surely Biblical Truth!

Luke, Chapter 2:

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

That was a celebration greater than any man will ever come up with!

The pagans have corrupted more than one day on the Calander, and we, the Church, need to take them back. Easter, or, Resurrection Sunday being a major one. As well, the glorious sign God placed in the heavens, the rainbow, corrupted by the Gay/Lesbian community needs to be publicly denounced and returned to the Church for being what it was: a sign from God that He would never again destroy the Earth by flood.

Another thought; the Gay/Lesbian community needs to take a closer look at the rainbow, because they want it to symbolize their inclusion of everyone in their Movement. Problem is, the colors black and brown are NOT in the rainbow. So their movement excludes people of black and brown skin color by the use of the rainbow. Now, if they want to use the symbol, I'm ok with that, but they need to take out blue and green and replace them with black and brown.

Anyhoo, there are many reasons to celebrate God, Jesus and His birth, death and resurrection, and many days we can do it. None of them are pagan!

Merry Christmas to one and all, and Happy Birthday Jesus!

I do not believe that "celebrating His birth" has ever been an issue; rather, the issue has to do with the date of December 25 and the fact that it was originally a pagan holiday - along with the pagan symbolism of the Christmas tree and other things (including 'Santa').

The actual birth of Jesus was in the September time frame - not even close to December 25 - and, that is the issue - that a pagan holiday (along with all of its symbolism) is celebrated instead of the actual birth date of Christ on earth.

Thus - Christians should be celebrating the birth of Christ in September (as a purely Christian holiday) and totally ignoring the December pagan holiday.
