when making dough's, the King Arthur Bread flour creates a much better texture.
Now I don't know if that is because it is a bread flour being used for dough instead of all purpose, that might have something to do with it (I'm sure John will let us know)

King Arthur flour was in existance when Geaorge Washington was president, a really old company, as old as the nation itself

It's the quality (not quantity) of gluten in the wheat that makes all the difference.

All Trumps has the highest percentage of protein for bread flour but not all of that protein is high quality...
Superlative is the one I used most of for when I last did commercial baking...it comes in 50# bags so unless you are looking to make a LOT of bread and pizza crust I recommend something smaller. I think that Sam's club has a pizza flour that comes in 25# bags and isn't horribly expensive.

The biggest beef I have with most grocery store bought flour is that it's too starchy and tastes too starchy in my bread. It also doesn't perform like the commercial flours do.

With good flour I can push the boundaries a bit too...add other things that destroy gluten and kill yeast but add tremendous flavor. Like oats or rye or certain fruits not usually associated with bread. Add extra fats too.

Like a bunch of herbs, olive oil, and parmesan cheese and paint it on before I make my loaf roll and then when it bakes off it has a nice green swirl inside that tastes wonderful.

okay experienced users....
help me out here:

I know if someone has me on ignore that they cannot see my post,
and it is my understanding that they won't see any private messages I attempt to send them (is that correct)
I'm wondering though if I try to send a private message and that person has me on ignore if I will have any clue (other than lack of response) that they have not seen the message.
Example: (@tourist I don't think you'll mind if I use you for this)
Tourist decided to ignore me (and I don't know it)
I want to send him a private message, so I type it all up.......
will the system still allow me to hit "send"?
It's been a few days and "tourist" has been very active on the forums but has not replied to my private message, so do I assume he has me on ignore and did not see the private message?
:unsure: come to think of it, I don't think he replies/reacts to any profile post I left for him, or ANY other comments I have made around the forums...... now I REALLY think he's got me on ignore, and for the most part, I don't mind, but the private message let me hit "send" so I don't know for 100% and I would really like to know 100%.
Other than not hearing back from "tourist" is there any way to know if "tourist" has me on ignore?

It is my understanding that if a member has someone on ignore that also means that the member that is on ignore will not be allowed to send the member who initiated the ignore a message. There is no way that I would ever put you on ignore though. :)Never put any member on ignore but put a few members on Eeyore which means that I don't respond to their posts for a while.
 
okay real tourist,
so if "tourist" has me on ignore I wouldn't be able to hit "send" (or some other clue would be there)?
So since I wrote "tourist" and hit send then I can assume that "tourist" doesn't check messages or something like that?


Now I'm picturing real Tourist putting members profile pics on an Eeyore pic :LOL:
(yeah... I know.... at times I need serious help :LOL:)

I usually put me on ignore when I've had too much coffee..........but, somehow, I still get the shakes and see the posts.......sigh
