It's the snowpocalypse around here in middle TN today...
A true Snowmageddon.
But since everyone is used to working from home it really isn't exactly a big deal.
So I just snuggle up with a cup of coffee and relax... working up plans and ideas.

I've been working up a business proposal for a bakery.
Lots of money in capital for very low returns.
**But it's fun**
If I'm lucky and work until frazzled... I can expect a return of around 9% if things go well. It's a pipe dream...but somebody has to bake the bread.

I saw on you tube a christian lady who opened a coffee shop and had a bill board outside that read "do u need a miracle'
Several people would stop at the coffee shop and enquire about what that meant. She said have a coffee and someone will pray for whatever your needs are. People initially took it as a joke but several prayers were answered including healing of peoples sicknesses. Word got around and now that coffee shop has had to hire many staff and miracles and answers are still happening.
That would be great to own and run. I would be in my element

They are quite expensive.
Assets required and capital required is huge for a small place.
Then begins the 12 and 16 HR days....
And you are busy like that for several years until the place can finally run itself for a while without you...but you have to always get back to work so you can keep everything running properly.
80% of all business failures are a result of poor management but blamed on the crew 100% of the time.
The main requirement for any small buisness to suceed is to have 5 years of capitol in the Bank when you open the doors.... It takes that long to firm up your clientell/customer base and to assure that your Business Plan will work. As well, to assure that you do not need to depend on the income the Buisness makes in the first 5 years to keep the doors open, and the staff paid.

My sister in law owned a cafe for about 15 years. She ran it as my bro had work elsewhere. Initially it looked like it was going to destroy her. She had no experience and no clue. I think she cried every night for nearly six months even longer maybe. It soon turned around along the way and she successfully ran it for about 15 years or so. Other things may have suffered along the way. I wondered whether it was worth it in the end for her.

I can't speak for her...
But I can tell you that the running of a small business will teach many people who they really are...
Its stressful and exhausting. It comes at you in every way imaginable.
Today with the labor shortages...it's an even larger nightmare. Getting staff is difficult...retaining staff is even more so. I'm figuring on a 300-400% staff changeover during the first year.
That is going to be a significant factor. Half trained staff never represents your company well. Not in product and not in customer service. And by the time you finally get staff trained to about 60-80% competent...they quit, get incarcerated, find a new job paying 0.25/hr more or get a girlfriend/boyfriend that works somewhere else and they want to work next to them. The HS or college kid who needs a job? HA! I wish... college kids have such a social life that their parents pay for that they don't need jobs. My son gave me the cold shoulder for only paying 75% of his tuition and giving him a car and told him R&B and the rest was up to him.
(He works at a bank and he is sure that I'm abusive by doing that)
One day he will figure it out...but it isn't exactly today. But in the meantime he is just like most of his peers.
Which means that I need young people and old people... people needing a job. Mixing and rolling dough made with flour...the only dough we are going to have. LOL
Love my grandson, he just graduated with a degree in finance, not working yet, sent him a text several days ago asking if he wanted some work, haven't heard back from him since.

My wife and I have been talking about this very thing. It's and Old Testament promise and covenant. But she and I have been saying that God has really taken good care of us the whole time we have been together.
That's not to say that there hasn't been lean times...or times when we wished for something. But that doesn't mean that our needs have always been met. We are generous I suppose. We have always freely given...to the point of insanity at times. Given ourselves poor at certain points.
But we have always been in decent shape. Rent is always paid on time and groceries in the fridge/freezer. Eaten better than most on a consistent basis because of my culinary skills. (Which God provided).
And in this generation of lactose intolerant, peanut allergy, gluten free, kale chip eating world...we are having a great time eating things supposedly bad for you.
And from everyone and everything I am hearing... everyone is ready for satisfaction...food that satisfies. They are hungry to know truth for a change. They don't know where it is or where it comes from. Old school is the best school. And Old School is really old....at least 5,500 years old.
King Arthur flour is made with hard red wheat, just thought I would pass that on.

I don't know really anything about hard red wheat or anything of the likes, or how wheat style reacts/responds etc.
BUT I do know that when I use King Arthur Bread Flour instead of Pillsbury All Purpose (or something generic and comparable)
when making dough's, the King Arthur Bread flour creates a much better texture.
Now I don't know if that is because it is a bread flour being used for dough instead of all purpose, that might have something to do with it (I'm sure John will let us know)
