That's why I dread being late but I usually call. And I don't mind waiting once I get there if I was the one causing everyone else to wait. I figure that's part of the process to get things back on track. I find employees are very helpful when we respond like this because kindness really is the key.
THIS! most of my patients are very kind, and if they are running late, they understand that it changes the whole schedule. most of them don't mind waiting since they did arrive late. i do get one every now and then who gives me attitude when i tell them there's a wait, but i've learned to not take it personal. uff! if i took everything personal, i would have no self esteem. ain't nobody got time for that! lol

I will be back on later today. I have errands I need to run. I pray that JL has fun going shopping with her daughter and Tourist has fun staying at home all while they get a new breaker box. I am so excited for you two. Love you all.

Well done.
It would drive us nuts to take this sort of unpleasant person too personally. My daughter is in retail and she says she's grown a thick skin towards the public.I just don't understand how we, as patients, could face these employees again if we've burnt those bridges. Most of us aren't made like that.

screamed in her face. :/
she got out of retail and back into college, thank God.
i find more and more, people do seem to be made like that, though.

i used to work in a school office, and i got along very well with most parents. there was one father who was always nice to me, but the moment i "messed up" something concerning his child, his attitude towards me completely changed. i was misinformed about a particular thing, and as a result, i misinformed him. it was nothing dangerous, but because i made him "waste his time," he no longer said hello to me, etc. it was in those years i started to learn to just get over people's attitude lol

since working with the public, it has really helped me to be a lot nicer to other people. for example, if a server at a restaurant is not doing his/her "best," i try to be understanding. maybe he's having a bad day. maybe he just received bad news. maybe he has worked all day and is just plain tired. or maybe he's a newbie. (this is not to be confused with a worker who is just being rude and ugly). i made it a goal that whenever i'm out at a store, etc, i want to be that person who makes the worker's day a little better by being nice. cuz Lord knows how many rude encounters they have during the day -_-

lol actually, with my friends, if we're discussing something, i'm the person who says, "maybe he's this. or maybe she's that." to be more understanding. my friends' reply? "melita and her 'benefit of the doubt!'" lol

That reminds me. We're going to plant more swamp milk weed this year. Probably sometime soon when the weather decides to stay warmer. It draws in Monarchs to lay their eggs. Sometimes we luck out and have eggs already attached to the plants we buy to bring home. Last year, we ended up with 6 Monarch butterflies. One died though. But the good news is, our butterfly garden perennial flowers are already growing back. And after we put in additional yard flowers, we should get a sweet variety of butterflies coming through.
