my sister has a friend who was recently in jail for a relatively short time.
he was so lost, and frightened (he's just 23), and there was a Bible study held daily.
it changed him, and he began to pray. idk if he's saved, but he had wanted to much to get out on bail,
and the Lord arranged it that he didn't get bail till he prayed for it.
now he's out and going to church every week.
i love to watch God work! ♥
and i'm very glad you joined this thread, Abigail.![]()
it's precisely the same thing
good morning, oldhermit. eyes okay?
That's amazing. Reminds me of my ex, who's a non-christian. He would argue with me daily about God's existence and its sad that because he's not going through hardship right now, his life is perfect to him and so he doesn't think he needs God. I just hope and pray that one day his eyes will be opened. I can't imagine living a life without purpose anymore. It's a scary thought. And thank you for letting me rant in here cause I can't get into chatroom lol, i really appreciate it.
it's truly my pleasure!
i pray the Lord brings your ex to the end of himself and opens his eyes to the beauty of the Gospel. ♥
Coffee would be so good right now, if I haven't had my 2nd cup yet.
Thank you <3 I should be leaving the office now, but the coworker I'm waitin on is stuck in traffic lol. Guess I'll be staying for a few more. Do you like books?
love 'em!
i read LOTR and the Hobbit and CS Lewis's Narnia series for the first time about 40 years ago.
haha i remember the first time i tried to read LOTR, i couldn't get myself to read the book cause it was too thick so I went with audio books, I was in the train and I fell asleep and I didn't remember anything after the first line that said something about the shire lol
lol.... i always fall asleep when i listen to an audiobook.
years ago when the movies came out my kids wanted to see them
and i said, sure, if you read the books first.
they were motivated and they did read the books. my son enjoyed them most, i think, and he was glad he had read before the films.
(he's pretty terrific... as are they all)
aww i tried to motivate myself into reading mockingjay before watching the movie.. but all my friends went to watch it and tempted me to watch it with them.. and so i failed.. my flesh failed me! now im reading a Charles Stanley book and its really helpful, especially during sleepless nights xD (no offence Dr. Stanley) but i started developing a habit of reading at least 20 mins every day, and I finished one the other day, and i was so happy about it (it was only 3 chapters long lol, maybe like 300 pages but hey its still a book!)
that made me LOL
yeah it's still a book. haha
my sister (i talk about her a lot... she's my sister, my sister in Christ and my best friend for over 40 years)
recently sent me a book by A. W. Tozer called "The Knowledge of the Holy".
it's small and short, and it's wonderful! highly recommended.![]()
blessings to you, Abigail ♥
i gotta get going, too.
need flour to bake bread!
hope you all have a lovely day.
