Heb 4:10 makes the distinctions of these two rests.
Heb 4:10 For he who has entered His rest (Christ rest) has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. (Sabbath rest)
There it is! Resting in Christ fulfills the Sabbath rest.

It’s says one must also cease from their works on the seventh day which is Sabbath-keeping. Two rests, not one. There it is! Resting in Christ fulfills the Sabbath rest.
Oooo, so close! It’s says one must also cease from their works on the seventh day which is Sabbath-keeping. Two rests, not one.
Actually, I am talking about something greater. A life where you cease from all your works, and only do the will of your father. This is for all days for all time. You want to regulate this to one day. God is asking you to do it as a lifestyle. It’s says one must also cease from their works on the seventh day which is Sabbath-keeping. Two rests, not one.
If God resides in us we would be keeping the commandments of God. The Sabbath is a commandment of God. Exo 20:8-11 Just like thou shalt have no other gods above Me, thou shalt not bow to idols, thou shalt not murder, covet , commit adultery or break the least of these Mat 5:19-30
My apologies for making it seem as though I'm repeating things, but you actually have much to learn about the Sabbath. You focus more on the letter of the law and miss what God is actually teaching and so while it appears you are keeping the Sabbath outwardly, you aren't actually keeping it as God would have us to. Without knowing the significance of the Sabbath and what God's intentions are in requiring it, you cannot keep the Sabbath.I already answered a lot of these questions https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...-intent-not-timing.214145/page-7#post-5246364
Again, most of your statements are your words, nothing I remotely even indicated. You act like I don’t understand the Sabbath and thats fine your free to your opinion despite not knowing each other, but when someone who admits they don’t have it in their heart to keep the Sabbath and teaches we don’t have to keep it- something Jesus warned about Mat 5:19 but wants to teach others what its really about- its sort of like trying tell others how to raise children when one doesn’t have any. The Sabbath is very spiritual and unless one keeps, one would not understand the blessing God gives us through His holy Sabbath day. Many try to convince others the Sabbath is not on the seventh day despite God saying otherwise Exo 20:10 and instead of holy time with God Isa 58:13, we can use the day to our own liking and instead Jesus somehow became the Sabbath despite Jesus said it is a commandment not for Him, but for us. I’m only interested in scripture. That is to be the guide to our path Psa 119:105- outside of that is danger Isa 8:20
if i truly had rest, why do i have to do this again next week?
Because no relationship can survive without spending quality time together and God is no different.
I would suggest you prayerfully read each of those scriptures and you will see how they are connected. God’s Word is one continuous book. It’s easy to make accusations, it’s another to demonstrate. Please feel free to demonstrate how those scriptures are not connected.
2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
Jesus taught for us to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, so I have not taken his testimony out of Scripture.then do not take the testimony of Christ out of the scripture, from which all truth and righteousness proceeds, for the sake of the physical keeping of a commandment.
without the spirit what uses is a body? it is dead, whether it is handsome or ugly.
In Hebrews 3:18-19, they did not enter into God's rest because of their unbelief/disobedience, and in Exodus 20:13, it specifically mentions that they greatly profaned God's Sabbaths. In Hebrews 4:9-11, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, we should rest from our work as God rested from His, and we should strive to enter into that rest so that no one may fall away by the same sort of disobedience, so he was not speaking in contrast with the weekly Sabbath, and you trying to use entering into God's rest to justify the same sort of disobedience is the opposite of what was being said.Christians have entered into a permanent Sabbath rest, a "sabbatismos" rest in Christ (Hebrews 4:9) in contrast with Israel keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law. (Exodus 31:16-17; 35:1-3; Deuteronomy 5:15)
Nah, it is ceasing to work for one's salvation, which Jesus procured as the spotless Lamb of God with His sinlessIt’s says one must also cease from their works on the seventh day which is Sabbath-keeping. Two rests, not one.
God's Word is not "one continuous book". The Protestant Bible is composed of sixty-six scrolls, written over thousands of years by different Jewish men (with one exception: Luke). Just because they are bound together under one cover doesn't mean a thing.
And your quoting Paul's letter to Timothy is just another way of saying the above.
BTW, because the Bible has been chopped up into separate verses, it is a common error to write quotes without considering what was actually. This is what Paul wrote to Timothy: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Amen. Good post.Have you ever asked why YHWH would place such importance on the Sabbath? It must be important; he announced it at creation and repeated this requirement many times. Indeed, when speaking from the top of the mountain, God spent more time explaining the Sabbath than any other commandment. Why? Here are some thoughts.
It’s not about being lazy. The commandment includes the requirement for six days of work. We are created for work, yet God explains work is not our purpose. We are more than work.
We become set apart by honoring the Sabbath. The command was given to all, but by keeping that command we identify ourselves as God’s people, chosen by him through his unfathomable grace.
Keeping the Sabbath demonstrates trust. Placing our trust in his word, we accept our inability to exist on our own. We acknowledge our dependence on God.
On one day every week, we take the opportunity to remember and enjoy the beauty of creation and the joy of life God has given us. We pause to enjoy our relationships, specifically with our families, and spend glorious hours together in mutual love.
Finally, the Sabbath reflects a world to come. It reminds us of a future time when there will be no more pain, no more death, no more striving. God made a day of rest; we look forward to a time when we shall all rest forever; in the very presence of our creator.
It is our folly that we have so confused this simple gift from God.
I think we do well to meditate an both aspects. We need to take time off from business to contemplate on the Spiritual and Everlasting. We were not created to just be wind-up bunnies. We need to look up to the Great Energizer in the sky!Nah, it is ceasing to work for one's salvation, which Jesus procured as the spotless Lamb of God with His sinless

The Spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Christ - the scripture all testifies of Him. in it is life because knowledge of Him is life.
do you believe this?
Yes. Indeed, all of Scripture testifies about how to know Jesus, which includes the Mosaic Law, and knowing God and Jesus is eternal life (John 17:3). In Exodus 33:13, Moses wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him to walk in His way that he and Israel might know Him, and in Matthew 7:23, Jesus said that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart form him because he never knew them, so knowing God and Jesus is the goal of the Mosaic Law.The Spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Christ - the scripture all testifies of Him. in it is life because knowledge of Him is life.

Wrong again. The law was added due to transgression. Galatians 3:19 ~ Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator. Galatians 3:22-24 But the Scripture pronounces all things confined by sin, so that by faith in Jesus Christ the promise might be given to those who believe. 23 Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24 So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.Yes.
