Can we not play school, and you can tell us plainly, so we all can know?

Ok it's in:

Philippians 4:6-8
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things..../KJV

When we bring our prayers and supplications to the Lord we are coming into His presence. When we do the Lord will focus on us and it will leave a residue on you. This is the oil of the Spirit.

Remember Moses? He spent 40 days & nights in the presence of the Lord and came back glowing! he had to wear a veil because he was scaring people! That came from 40 days in the Lord's physical presence. I guess it's safe to presume that Moses had extra oil!

What it means to us is one on one time with the Lord. Pray to Him, give Him your supplications and praise and gratitude and just talk to Him. Pour out your heart to Him. Then you are getting oil from the Lord. His Spirit will be with you you will grow spiritually and He will have the time with you to teach you and heal you, sanctify you over time.

I read that scripture about He will say to some, I never knew you, which is clearly a warning scripture. I thought, I don't want to be that guy. I would rather be the kid who never shuts up, lol! So I started inviting the Lord to go with me everywhere and talk to Him all day long. I became very sensitive to the awareness of the presence of the Lord. I began to be able to differentiate between His voice and what is my thoughts. He has His own way of talking and thinking, which are, above my ways of talking and thinking!

All of that becomes possible with the Oil. If you spend enough time with the Lord you will begin to glow also. Like scripture tells us, let your light shine before men! Now uh, no one has ever told me that I am glowing so I am not quite there yet!

Maybe it is that we are spiritual beings and are made out of light? And depending on our closeness to God is how bright we shine to Him. The closer we walk with Him and talk with our Counselor, the more recharged our spiritual potential becomes. Maybe, He'll just look for the lights when He comes for the rapture?! don't get caught with a low battery!

I'm the one modifying!? You are the one inserting that they had oil, when NOWHERE in the text does it say they do.

Yup. They trimmed their lamps:
Trimming a lamp involves adjusting the wick to ensure a clean and efficient flame, which is essential for optimal lighting and performance.

Can an oil lamp's wick burn for a short time without oil?
Yes, an oil lamp's wick can burn for a short time without oil.

Tell me WHERE, and from WHOM, did they go to buy oil when they realized they had none?
I guess just assume the oil lamps had no oil.
Really weird.
What doctrine are you suggesting?

That unbelievers are virgins?
That unbelievers ask for the Holy Spirit at the rapture?
That unbelievers have lamps, light, and sleep with on fire believers?
That unbelievers answer 2 separate calls that Jesus is near, and are waiting and watching for Jesus?

That is a lot of components you are changing in the parable.

Hmmm
Maybe you just proved the foolish had oil lamps that ran out of oil.
" the wick burned a short time without oil"

Sounds plausible and why we can see the oil is no longer in the foolish one's lamps.

Have to post this from time to time. Not sure I’m onboard with exactly everything here, but it concisely shows their is a DEFINITE difference between the Rapture (Harpazo) and Christ’s Second Coming:

Oh, ok....now I see WHY the foolish need to be reframed as unbelievers.

In your chart you have ALL believers caught up in the rapture, which in the examples of Jesus in the virgin parable, Lot, and Moses, Jesus addresses those believers left behind.

I had to go back a few posts to see the doctrine behind why you need the parable changed.

What doctrine are you suggesting?
I'm suggesting these people were never saved to begin with.
That unbelievers are virgins?
Well, what constitutes a virgin? Aren't ALL humans virgins at birth? Where does it say that virgin equates to salvation?
That unbelievers ask for the Holy Spirit at the rapture?
Speculation, but I don't think it bodes well for those exposed to the Gospel, waited on believing and accepting Jesus, and then missing the rapture:
2 Thessalonians 2 NKJV

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

That unbelievers have lamps, light, and sleep with on fire believers?
Sure do. You think everyone that goes to Church are saved? Not to mention the rest of the World believers occupy with them?

That unbelievers answer 2 separate calls that Jesus is near, and are waiting and watching for Jesus?

That is a lot of components you are changing in the parable.
The text EXPLICITLY says they had NO oil with them:
3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,

I haven't changed a SINGLE yot or tittle.

YOU, are changing what the text says. NOT me.

I had no such point to make about the virgins, so you're dead wrong on that. My point was very simple: Matt 24 does not say what you are saying.

Your logic -

1. Pre-trib rapture must be true...
2. Therefore Matt 24 can't mean what it says because it doesn't fit...
3. Otherwise pre-trib rapture would be false. See 1.

This is one of many reasons I reject pre-trib theory. It's built on a house of cards.
Jesus taught it.
That is why postribs can not accept Jesus words " before the flood, one taken, one left".
Jesus said, "pray that you May be counted worthy to escape the things about to come upon the earth and stand before the sun of God."

No postribber can honestly pray that commanded prayer.

It would make no sense at all to them.

I wonder why they change the virgin parable.
I know why.

Pay attention! I wrote that I'm not certain I'm onboard with the picture. Only that it clearly demonstrates the rapture and Second Coming are separate events.

and again, I haven't changed a single word. You have.

..it is a no brainer they are believers.
They have light.
Lamps
Oil...(that you need removed).
They are waiting for Jesus.
They fellowship and sleep with on fire believers.
They obey the 2 commands to expect Jesus right away.
THEY ARE VIRGINS....AHEM, PURE , UNDEFILED, SET APART.

Where are there heathens you suggest with theses attributes,?
What beer Joint?

Hey have a great day! ALL these points have been brought up and addressed.
Be Blessed!

In the 7 letters of rev. There are rebukes and judgement ON BELIEVERS.

I am thinking you are unaware of the 3 classes of believers Paul addresses in his letters.

I am thinking you are unaware of what the Bible says in connection with carnal believers, and that the worthy one go in to the gathering with the groom.
Therefore you can not process rewards and judgement concerning believers

I am thinking that you do not understand that the Believers walk is NOT SALVATION.
The walk is what the saved do.
Or don't do.
Or the fact that there is the remnant on fire for God, and then there are saved people sitting on their salvation.

So since the rapture didn't happen what is the next date we should look for? I seriously cannot believe people went so far as to sell everything they owned because they believed this nonsense

That, is a good point. Even the unbelievers have no excuse.

Romans 1:20
20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God..../NLT

In other words, no one has zero oil. Everyone has the residue of the Holy spirit within them. From birth.

There are 2 types of spirits: the spirit of natural life, which all humans have and the spirit of eternal life, which only those born from above through faith have. The first is represented by the 4 living creatures before the throne, and the second is represented by the 7 lamps of fire before the throne.

So all of the virgins had the spirit of natural life, but only 5 had the spirit of eternal life.

Sad. Havent we learned from Harold Camping incident to NOT sell all our stuff? I really feel sorry for these people, they genuinely believed this is gonna be it. Their heart was in the right place and it was taken advantage of by these sensationalists. Lets just hope they dont lose faith because of this.

I believe the reason the devil keeps doing this trick is precisely to make people leave Christ. "Oh look Jesus didnt return its all a lie" and people turn back to the world

People just don't read their bibles sadly and just follow false prophets and teachers the bible is very clear only the father knows when the son will return but people just didn't bother to read so they lost everything for it and I have no doubt that many will fall away from faith if they haven't already
