I suffer from scrupleocity: excessive unease and torment over your sins, mistakes, and breach of scruples. This manifests in compulsive confession, dwelling on your errors excessively, not forgiving yourself, finding sin or mistakes you overlooked, and etc.

Martin Luther who started The Reformation and Ignatius of Loyola who founded The Jesuits were afflicted with scrupleocity.

Catholics call it Catholic Guilt and Protestants might inclined to say its OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) of the Spirit.

Anyone else afflicted or have something like it?

Well it should be so since we are all discussing The Bible, ergo we have all read it, or plan to do so. For me it is very deja vue since I have rad it so many times I cannot give the umber. DEJA BU.

I know what you mean brother but in the sense of “discussing a topic to death” BDF is more appropriate to describe this phenomenon where “you’ve seen a thread before” but with a new twist. lol

Sorry, I don’t want to take any more time from the OP but tomorrow I might have something for him.
I did tell him on another topic that what he’s experiencing is a sign of growth actually which involves wisdom, forgiveness and as a bonus you get even more humility because the OP is thinking things which brings you closer to God and to surrender to Him completely.

I used to. What worked for me was eliminating those things from my life which were causing me to feel guilty; and then moving on to a closer walk with Him. You can't serve two masters.
