Yes and no.
They are in that, they are God's living word to his people, and a reality for the believer through out the ages, and a beautiful model of prayer.
I dont place any more or less significance on any one scripture passage.
“I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me,
Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall
give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, When his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
Psalm 2:7-8, 11-12 KJV
“
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
All they that
see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: Let him deliver him, seeing
he delighted in him.
My strength is
dried up like a potsherd; And
my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
For
dogs have compassed me: The assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: They pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones:
They look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, And cast lots upon my vesture.”
Psalm 22:1, 7-8, 14-18 KJV
“
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He restoreth my soul: He
leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And
I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
Psalm 23:1, 3-6 KJV
“
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are
they which
testify of me.”
John 5:39 KJV
“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that
all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and
in the psalms,
concerning me.”
Luke 24:44 KJV
“For
David speaketh concerning him, I
foresaw the Lord always before my face, For he is
on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad;
“Moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; Thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. “
Therefore
being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; he seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Acts 2:25-28, 30-36 KJV
“I have set the LORD always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: My flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalm 16:8-11 KJV
The psalms are
about Jesus and the gospel
“But
those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.”
Acts 3:18 KJV
