Believing involves obeying.
"And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Heb. 5:9
Yea brother I agree . I’m sorry for the delay in replying I haven’t been keeping up with my notifications as well as I should or missed them somehow .
I agree with what you said there. It’s the same concept as “faith without works being dead “
awe have to hear what he said and believe first , and then we’ll obey through faith as we learn from the gospel . What I mean is in Jesus teachings
he teaches us we need to learn from and obey him .
what I mean is If we do this part first
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
then well Know what to believe and obey because he teaches us as we persevere in his teachings . We find things like this whoch teach us we need to obey his teachings .
“And
why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and
could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
But
he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and
immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
Luke 6:46-49 KJV
And also in blunt manner like this
“I tell you, Nay: but,
except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Luke 13:3
I believe that if we hear and believe the gospel then we will begin to understand the gospel better and through that process of hearing his word we receive faith that makes us able to obey more and more because we’re hearing what he actually taught . Mostly we never really hear the teachings of Jesus and his apostles but just a single verse or two plucked from somewhere
the bo le is meant to learn from about God , about human kind and our own self , about the world and the promises of God that haven’t yet been seen by man ect really our existance and purpose is learned from listening to our God and the word he gave us to hear
we need to obey him I agree but that is something he gives us strength and grace to come to realizing first we have to believe in Jesus and bear the gospel then we can begin to obey it. hesring and believing the gospel is where salvation really is that will lead any believer to obey him and be saved
“For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is
the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall
live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17 KJV
the catch is we can’t just believe things we want to be true about God and salvation we need to accept the things he actually taught in the gospel aboit God and salvation then we’ll o ow we need to repent and obey and we have an eternity with him in peace and life as the result of walking in faith we just need to hear it first and believe
for example if I believe that baptism on Jesus name is for the remission of my sins , I’m going to act . If I don’t believe baptism means anything I probably won’t bother . If we first believe right then we’ll act right we need to believe …. Jesus calls us to repentance and obedience but many people don’t believe that
