My profound thought is what Jesus says before He is officially betrayed by Jesus. We say when a person loves Jesus He will reveal Himself to them. To be its like sex in marriage. But Jesus meant He will help the person see Him for Who He is. I believe He is saying that revealing comes through intentions.

Today I had a disturbing thought.

Every generation I have seen reaches late teens through 20s and gets condescending to their elders. It's like they pat older generations on the head and say, "There, there, it's okay. We know you're old and out of touch. But it's our turn to decide what is good and normal now. We know, we know, you don't like it, but that's just tough beans. Now take your geritol and toddle off to bed."

Then when they hit about 35 they say, "Wow, we were IDIOTS back then!"

The problem is, the current late teens through 20s are the most condescending I have ever seen. When they hit the "Wow, we were IDIOTS back then!" stage they are going to have to eat a lot of crow. And I don't think they will be able to do it. The human ego can only take so much.

But the easiest way to not admit you were wrong... Is to double down.

In about 15 years or so, I think I want to be living on the moon or something. It might get a lot more unpleasant around here.

This is a place for any profound thoughts we might have. Anybody is welcome to post any profound thoughts you might have had recently, or any not so profound thoughts. It may be updated daily or maybe not a post for two months, depending on how much thinking we have done lately...
Anyone give a thought to the number 12? I was reading in Mark the other day and the story of the miracle of the 2 daughters.... You know where Jesus saves the 12 yr old little girl from death and then the woman who had bled for 12 yrs and found no answers....Jesus chose 12 disciples, 12 months......12, 12, 12. I did a little digging and found that spiritually 12 is supposed to represent new life. Any thoughts?

Howdy Hj and welcome to the forum.

Be careful with that numerology stuff. Every time I see someone go down that rabbit hole, they never come back up.

I mean sure, sometimes numbers are important in the Bible. But EVERY time I see the number two, it doesn't mean the thing numerology claims the number two means. Even Freud said "Sometimes a banana is just a banana."

But yeah, 12 does have some significance in certain instances. 12 tribes of Israel, 12 disciples: Did Jesus choose one from each tribe? Has anybody looked into this?

Reckon which tribe Peter was from?

Reckon which tribe JUDAS was from? o_O

Most people I've talked with say 12 represents fulness or completeness. Another number is 144,000. 12 x 12 x 1000. The first 12 representing the OT saints, the second 12 the NT saints, and 1,000 representing the reign of Christ.

A wise man once said " Give me Liberty or Give me death." now the government legalizes medical assisted suicide as it strips away our freedom and liberty.
Vote Conservative. Maybe.....just maybe some of the chains forged in the last 10 years will be shattered.

Well it finally happened. I've been expecting it for a long time. I thought it would happen a LOT earlier. But after 60 pages, the conspiracy nuts finally found this thread.

When I was playing Fallout 4 I came across a player who was trying to play a challenge run with:
- survival difficulty
- only certain weapons
- no healing
- no radiation recovery
They do these challenge runs just to see if they can (out of boredom I think.)

Problem was, the game provides a free full health refill every time you level up. And there's no real way to avoid leveling up. He had to install a mod just to disable health refill on level up.

So next time you want to say someone has first world problems, remember... There are always people with problems that are more first world than that.

DON'T USE "FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS" FRIVOLOUSLY! There are REAL first world problems out there that deserve our respect. :p
