Tonight someone wanted to see a picture of me. So I did the best I could and snapped a quick picture of myself. Whenever I do this, I always turn out looking ugly. So usually right after I show someone a picture of myself, then I delete it from my end. I can't stand to look at myself. So yeah it's no wonder why others don't like to look at me.

As I was writing this blog, it reminded me of the time, I posted this video on Cupoflinux. Which no longer exists. Anyways this guy makes some interesting points.

I hate the sound of my voice. And yet I was a worship leader. My worship pastor was aware of my singing insecurity and said, "Your problem is a lack of confidence."
There is a woman who would find you just right! Beauty is much more than physical appearance. :)

The guy in the video doesn't look ugly to me....I actually think he's a nice looking dude. And likewise, I'm sure you're not as bad looking as you think you are, OP.

Remember: What is considered "beautiful" or "ugly"....is completely subjective. ;)

Back when I used to use AOL instant messenger, and hung out in chatrooms. That would of been way back in the early 2000's, I would meet people who would say pic for pic. And I would send a picture and they would send me a picture. Probably over half the time, as soon as they got my picture they logged off. Or blocked me. I'm not sure which. lol But after I sent this new person a picture of me I haven't heard back either. lol A professional photographer, can usually get me to look ok. But I can't ever seem to do it on my own. Even my Dad says, He isn't photogenic.

When I used to try dating sites, and also when I was active in social media, I always had some pictures of myself there. I gradually quit doing that. What I learned is, sometimes I get into trouble. Not on purpose, or course. But when someone gets upset at you, they can make up anything they want about you. If they got your picture, there is nothing stopping them from using that picture against you.

I remember one time, i had a rude awakening. I was a long time member of a site called Xianz. I told this story before. Things were winding down. People weren't active in the chats like they used to be. And I was on another website called Jcfaith. And things weren't active there either. I guess i was in a bad mind set? Or maybe it was because I got used to the fact that people on Xianz, would say some crazy things. I don't know. But to me drugs has always been sort of a joke. Something that I consider to be stupid. I used to poke fun at how some people would justify smoking pot. Some guy, a moderator popped into the room, and said "Hey what is going on in here?" There was nothing going on, so I made a sarcastic statement, like "We are all just smoking weed out of good Christian faith LOL" He replied, "What did you say?" Then I got banned for it. To make a long story short, I got permanently banned from the entire site. They kept my profile, and all the pictures I uploaded. I tried emailing them, asking them to remove my account, but they just ignored me. It stayed that way until the whole website got shutdown. What I learned from that experience is, anytime you upload a picture to the the internet it becomes the property of the website owner, and they can do whatever they want.

Now days I try to be more careful about what I say online. But because of always being so careful, I also don't have as much fun anymore either.

Christians often have no sense of humor. I've had to adjust mine so I don't offend people.

Ok...
It's an emotionally healthy thing to not like your own appearance and voice.

Because we are men. I have never seen a "cute" or "handsome" guy in my entire life. When women ask me "is he cute?" When asking about a guy that I know that they have never seen I get a blank look on my face for the before mentioned reasons....I seriously don't know what makes a guy physically appealing to women.

And going by others opinions?
Nope....not a productive or accurate way to assess the situation either. Two women find the exact same guy both a dork and cute...depending on the woman's tastes.

Some women are just loud, obnoxious, karens..

So...the only place to actually go is the usual source for all truth....God.

He says that you are his child He sees as perfectly you. You are exactly perfect as He intended. You are royalty in his court.
So...in the grand scheme of things whose opinion matters the most?

It's because "Christians" aren't following the Bible really. They make up rules, that they think makes them holy.

I just posted on a thread about one's experience with the Holy Spirit. Instantly someone responded by saying, "You're making it up, why lie?" I countered. I'm ready to go...I don't back down from ignorance. This forum is all I do. I have all day. Lol

You appear to be in good company. You think God or Godly women put attractiveness as a high priority?

Certainly not with His Son.

Isaiah 53:2 NKJV
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

I might wonder about people's experiences but I don't fight about it.

That is, in my opinion, the correct attitude. That was my story. I didn't ask anyone to believe me. I expect that. Some are terrified to think that God might do something that they can't control. So they publicly call me a liar. I've heard it all before.
It seems that a lot of people know a lot about God, but few seem to actually know Him. Disagree with me, sure, but they try to destroy me and my testimony. Not all. Oh well!

I believe that God doesn't contradict His scriptures. It is my opinion that whatever my experience with God is, it must line up with the scriptures in some way. If not, then it's probably not something God did... I remember one woman, out the blue, told me, "God told me not to talk you anymore". I would like to know what she ever saw in the Bible that could back up her experience with what she felt God was telling her. As far as I can tell, the end result didn't seem to lead to anything good. It ended up destroying our friendship, and I think her attitude even destroyed another one of her friendships. Does that sound like something from God or Satan? It wasn't like her and I were involved with sin. it was just simply that she was having depression problems. She later confessed that to me. And then a while later she did some more stuff that wrecked things even more.

People say all kinds of things. Whatcha gonna do? Everything God has ever done with me or said to me is in scripture. Before I knew the word well enough, each time after He did something with me, He would, in the days following, show it to me in scripture.
When I speak about things God does with me, I do hope that it will help people to understand that God is alive and well, and sometimes does things. My goal is that people would seek God and find Him, to read the bible a lot, talk to Him a lot, and get to know His voice. To not only know about Him, but to know Him. He wants this more than I do!
I know there is a lot of abuse and misuse out there. But I won't throw the baby out with the bathwater!
One MUST use discernment and self-control when dealing with these matters!

First impressions are important. Although we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, people often do. Fortunately, although looks are important to men, they're not so important to women. While many men might seem to be attracted to beautiful women who don't offer much else, there aren't many women who are attracted to men because of looks only. Personality is important. Try to present the good aspects of your personality or character before showing pictures. Then, if there's not much difference in appearance between you and one of the inmates at the local zoo, at least the one you are talking with will have something else on which to decide whether to pursue continuing the relationship, when she eventually realises you impacted a few too many branches on the way down from the ugly tree!
