Absolutely! I pray the Lord will continue to guide your heart and that His Spirit will motivate and encourage you to always stand up for your faith. Passiveness is not only a man's struggle, it can be anyone's struggle, so definitely don't feel that you are alone. It's awesome that you recognize you used to opperate in it, and that's a big step to overcoming it. I still struggle with it. It usually comes out when I feel defeated in a matter, but I praise God He is helping me decern situations that require me to become proactive
I think the best way to combat a passive attitude is by asking God to transform our outlook on a situation. Be watchful of everything and test the spirit behind everying. Ask God for wisdom on the matter and what the spiritual/physical danger is if left unchecked. Keep in prayer/meditating on God's Word. Ask God to give us the strength to endure pursuing righteousness at all costs and not to back down when things get scary or tough. And lastly, we gotta battle the issue through the power of Christ's love. We can't just read about God's love, we have to act it out. If we are operating in love, then it will be very uncomfortable in our spirit to sit down and idly watch the enemy attack and crush things around us. We should have a passion for spreading the Kingdom of Light to those being attacked and to those doing the attacking.
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2
"For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, 'Peace and safety!' then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing. But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction, and that you regard them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. We urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit, do not utterly reject prophecies, but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil."
1 Thessalonians 5:3-22
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love" 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
"Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may achieve success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9
