This hit home; I'm so happy to see this issue being talked about. It hurts so bad yet gives me relief seeing others agree. Thank you for sharing this; may the Lord bless you!

Passiveness and acting nonchalant are the two culprits behind my failing marriage.

I fullheartedly believe passive behavior comes from not being fully committed. In other words, it's a character that is lukewarm.

"I know what you are doing: you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth!" Revelation 3:15-16

If a person has passion regarding a matter, they will make their stance known whether by trying to destroy something or trying to build it up. The passive person is indifferent and thus does not care to see anything happen: fail or thrive. They are "fine" either way.

The Christian walk should be full of passion for Christ. Everyday should be evidence of our zeal for living out the Word of God, not just being ok with any ole mindless decisions we make that day and neglecting to weigh its consequences.

I believe Ezekiel 3:17-21 is also a great example of passiveness and its consequence

“Human being, I have appointed you to be a watchman for the house of Isra’el. When you hear a word from my mouth, you are to warn them for me. 18 If I say to a wicked person, ‘You will certainly die’; and you fail to warn him, to speak and warn the wicked person to leave his wicked way and save his life; then that wicked person will die guilty; and I will hold you responsible for his death. 19 On the other hand, if you warn the wicked person, and he doesn’t turn from his wickedness or his wicked way, then he will still die guilty; but you will have saved your own life. 20 Similarly, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits wickedness, I will place a stumblingblock before him — he will die; because you failed to warn him, he will die in his sin; his righteous acts which he did will not be remembered; and I will hold you responsible for his death. 21 But if you warn the righteous person that a righteous person should not sin, and he doesn’t sin; then he will certainly live, because he took the warning; and you too will have saved your life.” (CJB)

I’m so glad this video was beneficial for you.
I definitely was the passive guy in previous relationships. I don’t even think that I was even aware of what was going on. I didn’t seek God back then, like I do now.
I hope that in the relationship that I’m currently in that I never become that passive guy. I pray that we all live up to the standard that Jesus Christ calls us to.

Absolutely! I pray the Lord will continue to guide your heart and that His Spirit will motivate and encourage you to always stand up for your faith. Passiveness is not only a man's struggle, it can be anyone's struggle, so definitely don't feel that you are alone. It's awesome that you recognize you used to opperate in it, and that's a big step to overcoming it. I still struggle with it. It usually comes out when I feel defeated in a matter, but I praise God He is helping me decern situations that require me to become proactive

I think the best way to combat a passive attitude is by asking God to transform our outlook on a situation. Be watchful of everything and test the spirit behind everying. Ask God for wisdom on the matter and what the spiritual/physical danger is if left unchecked. Keep in prayer/meditating on God's Word. Ask God to give us the strength to endure pursuing righteousness at all costs and not to back down when things get scary or tough. And lastly, we gotta battle the issue through the power of Christ's love. We can't just read about God's love, we have to act it out. If we are operating in love, then it will be very uncomfortable in our spirit to sit down and idly watch the enemy attack and crush things around us. We should have a passion for spreading the Kingdom of Light to those being attacked and to those doing the attacking.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2

"For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, 'Peace and safety!' then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing. But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction, and that you regard them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. We urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit, do not utterly reject prophecies, but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil."
1 Thessalonians 5:3-22

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love" 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

"Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may achieve success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9

I’ll try and read the rest of this in a bit. Just took a melatonin and am really sleepy all of a sudden
