Greetings, fellow single people. I'm old enough to remember the 1960's, and yes, we were all influenced by the instability to the point that many of us simply expected Jesus to return momentarily, because things were that bad. Looking back over the 60+ years to how bad things are today, I've simply not changed my mind that, if a corrupt world leads to the time of the end, we could be looking at any day. Many of us didn't save for this future back then, we lived a lot like the apostles/disciples in the Book of Acts, without much thought for a time 30-40 years down the road when they'd realize that time was marching on and somebody needed to write this down for the rest of us - and here we are, 2 millenniums later. So yes, your parents were right. And yes, you are right also. And yes, I'm glad to be here and I'm another American and an old one at that. I was born this way, but the old part happened over a long time. Glad to meet you all!

Howdy and welcome to the forum.

Kids are always talking about these troubling times. Pfft! They don't know what real trouble is yet. :p

What you wrote about time marching on reminded me of something from ‘Steel Magnolias’

‘Time marches on and eventually you realize it’s marchin’ across your face’.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the culinary education in this chat… That only I voted for natural peanut butter ....like in Texas with all the oil at the top. Come on now....
It's good to develop the wrist muscles as you remix it every time.

Seriously is there no one else who likes to put their peanuts in the blender at the organic food shop and blend out a batch. It's been a while, but I used to like it and then I throw in some almonds and cashews too.

the world has been ending soon for 2000 years. and it will be ending soon for another 2000 years. who knows what 'soon' means, to a God who has been around literally forever.

Wait wait wait a minute, hold up here! You stir your PB every single time???

Perhaps you should open that jar more often! LOL

Or refrigerate after the first stirring. Then it never separates again!

:D

I used to really like natural peanut butter, and maybe I'm just a big moron (lots of people would agree with that!,) but as much as I tried to stir it thoroughly, the oil-to-peanut butter ratio was always thrown off.

By the time I got halfway through the jar, all the oil would be gone and the rest of the peanut butter would be conglomerate into a hard brick. And I certainly didn't want to have to add some other kind of oil to soften it up.

I know there is a supposedly "no-stir" variety of natural peanut butter but it's just not the same. I happen to like extra chunky as it is, so now I just look for the brand with the least amount of sugar.

We do the best with what we have to work with! :giggle:

It is very difficult to get the oil evenly mixed back into the PB because the stuff on the bottom has become so very hard without the oil in it. Some store their unopened PB upside down because of this, but really I am not sure if this does anything to keep the oil mixed in properly, because it is most often already separated when you buy it. The best thing I have found is just to stir stir stir very thoroughly when the jar is first opened (I prefer natural butters also, and it is the ones with awful sugars and additives/stabilizers like hydrogenated oils that don't separate at all *shudders), repeatedly scraping the knife to return the stirred butter to the jar to keep mixing it in with what is in the jar, and then refrigerate thereafter, which prevents the oil from separating again. Of course this PB is harder to spread, especially if it is chunky, but if you leave the jar out for a minute before using, or place it near the toaster while your bread is being prepared, this helps it warm up enough that the PB around the outer edges of the jar are more easily accessed :D

Hi and welcome. I too am old enough to remember the 1960's and even the 1950's. I think things are much worse now and that the Lord's return is imminent, although nobody knows the time or day except the Father.......Bob
Same as you. Lived through 1/2 of the 50's and all of the 60's. I think that things are much worse now too.

Back to topic: I'm Swiss. Does that count? ;)
Cameron wants to have a word with you about your cheese.
Sure, but who is Cameron?(or is that again some kind of a joke I don't understand?)

Hi @Coll2-8,

A long time ago, we had a thread talking about our favorite kinds of cheese:

https://christianchat.com/christian-family-forum/lets-make-the-cheesiest-thread-in-the-world.218006

@Cameron143 made a funny comment about how he feels ripped off when he buys Swiss cheese, because of the holes. :)

@NightTwister is picking on Cameron!

Hope this helps to explain. :)

I’m from Texas and I don’t like peanuts.

What’s wrong with me?
