Spiritual salvation is a one time event, not a life long process.
So you're in the camp that says once we're saved, we no longer have to trust in Him.
Spiritual salvation is a one time event, not a life long process.
Yes. Salvation, and remaining saved is COMPLETELY out of our hands.
Do you believe Peter REPENTED of what he did or just thought God will save me so why waste the time?Nope. You either have the trust or you do not. It may wax and wane......but you have it.
Looks at Peters vacillating and denials. Yet.....he never "changed gods". Same goes for Abraham.
Jhn 6:68
But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Pretty much sums up the state of mind of the redeemed.
Of course he did. We all do. It's part of the walk of faith bro.Do you believe Peter REPENTED of what he did or just thought God will save me so why waste the time?
Amen!Of course he did. We all do. It's part of the walk of faith bro.
But if Peter refused to Repent would he still have Eternal Salvation?Of course he did. We all do. It's part of the walk of faith bro.
But who is more secure in their Salvation:
The one who prays daily for God to help them overcome a specific Sin they struggle with
Or
The one who continually sins the one sin they specifically struggle with and tells themselves it's cool because I asked for forgiveness of all sins 20 years ago when I got Saved?
Pretty sure Jesus is taking care of that too bro.we must maintain that trust.
As the redoubtable J. Vernon McGee said so eloquently:But if Peter refused to Repent would he still have Eternal Salvation?
How precious is that Gift to you if you abuse it?Salvation is a gift.
The gift is received.
The depth of our sorrow and the promises to stop sinning makes salvation a bi-lateral contract, it is not.
The security is solely based on Jesus and His work on our behalf, we accept His work as a gift, it cannot be revoked or undone.
I really think THIS is the point that may sway some on the "you can lose your salvation" side.Pretty sure Jesus is taking care of that too bro.
True!As the redoubtable J. Vernon McGee said so eloquently:
Thats an "iffy" question.
So you're in the camp that says once we're saved, we no longer have to trust in Him.
How precious is that Gift to you if you abuse it?
Everything about my Salvation was bought and paid for by God.
But I understand the Value of my Gift which is why I strive to be more like Christ.
But when I fail I don't believe I am lost, I believe I have hurt God and for that I repent.
But I know some who assume they are so secure they sin freely without remorse. They abuse the Gift from God. I don't see how they can be secure when they have no value in what God did for them.
No, because you either realize what God did for you and you live in harmony or you think I can get away with murder. It is really sad that people cannot just be thankful
There is always that need to add in some righteousness of their own, isn't that what you are basically saying?
Is living in Victory being more like Jesus who is SINLESS or more like I'm saved so I can do whatever I please? One strives to live out ward the righteousness of Christ gifted to the believer, that is sanctification.
We have a new nature. Focussing on the NEW helps diminish the old.
It is hypocritical to not LIVE IN the Victory, that is the real sin.
