I thought we already started. I was waiting for your reply to this beginning post.
Well what is it that the Vines is telling us to surrender? And what is it the Vines is telling us to live Continually surrendering to.
What is the Strong's telling us to commit to? What to be committed to? What to commit unto?
I understand those things to be our lives. What is it your thinking it is?
Ahh... you are a detective too!!!
Very interesting.
You are still promoting your ideas with everyone so you really have not reached the point of the child.
UG, I put my understandings on the table to be tested by anyone. This gives the opportunity to know Christ better. I don't care about who's right and who's wrong. If you have a better understanding, put it out there.
It all starts with that Greek word pisteuo.
Where are those "good works" that God desires from us?
Ah was waiting for 2 Thessolians 2:11-12.Here you go!
The main elements in "faith" in its relation to the invisible God, as distinct from "faith" in man, are especially brought out in the use of this noun and the corresponding verb, pisteuo; they are
(1) a firm conviction, producing a full acknowledgement of God's revelation or truth, e.g., 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12;
(2) a personal surrender to Him, John 1:12;
(3) a conduct inspired by such surrender, 2 Corinthians 5:7. Prominence is given to one or other of these elements according to the context. All this stands in contrast to belief in its purely natural exercise, which consists of an opinion held in good "faith" without necessary reference to its proof. The object of Abraham's "faith" was not God's promise (that was the occasion of its exercise); his "faith" rested on God Himself, Romans 4:17, Romans 4:20-Romans 4:21. See
Are you saying God our Father who died for us wants willing slaves?Jesus plus nothing = nothing.
Grace plus Faith (a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender) = the beginning of a relationship with Christ.
Jesus plus a Continually surrendered life = willing slavery.
Are you saying God our Father who died for us wants willing slaves?
You are still promoting your ideas with everyone so you really have not reached the point of the child.
I know what your thoughts are concerning pisteou.He's looking for those who will willing faithe themselves to Him.
Faithe, means a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. Pisteuo!
God the Father didn't die for us, His Son Jesus Christ did.
It's not much different than surrending on a battlefield. You surrender and become a slave to the one you've surrendered to, with no rights of your own. Your master has all the rights now!
Uh oh, Play-Doh boy is at it again. Giving out smiley faces by the dozens.OK folks, playground recess is over..![]()
UG
You've fast forwarded to scripture already!
I thought we were starting at the beginning. In the Beginning, the Father is calling us out, we turn to look in the direction of the caller, then what?
We don't have the Spirit of Christ yet at this early phase. So Christ, His word, and His promises are not ours to claim yet. Rom. 8:9
So how do we proceed without illegitimately claiming God and His word.?
I know what your thoughts are concerning pisteou.
But what I will reject is the fact as you say that we are willing slaves.
We are the sons as daughters of God, the apple of his eye.
It is he who gave us life, it's he that has birthed us, it is he created us.
Therefore we are his children and not willing slaves.
We are willing children wanting to walk with him and be like him.
