What would you say is the "source" of "sin/sins" in the life of a believer/saint/Christian? (since you are agreeing that it is possible for a believer to sin after being saved).
And like others have asked (in this thread), where do you draw the line if not at one "sin," is it at twenty? thirty? Where is the point that a believer/saint/Christian "loses, or forfeits" salvation??
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 is listing persons identified by those things. And then it says "such WERE some of you" (not "some of you DID [used to DO] such things/sins"). Identification. Such WERE...you. [i.e. LIARS lie... ADULTERERS commit adultery... STALKERS stalk... etc]
Then it is important to read this section (verses 9-11, quoted below) ALONG WITH its entire context, which I will quote also verses 19-20 (for brevity) -
1 Corinthians 6:9-11,19-20 [blb] -
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor coveters, not drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And some of you were such. But you were washed [middle voice], but you were sanctified [passive], but you were justified [passive], in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
[...]
19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have from God? And you are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
I can't even imagine being in a situation where a person would be doubting their salvation to the end. Do they go around on tippy toes in case they stumble and lose "it".

Amen Rosemaryx, and Jesus grew in grace and wisdom;Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit to conform a saint to holiness. He convicts us of sin, grants us repentance, and gives us an unnatural desire to obey God (speaking only to born-again believers in Jesus Christ). It is His work.
Sanctification is a lot like this escalator. We may fall down, and we may grip the sides, but God continues His elevating work.
A wrong view of sanctification is that we have to prove to God that we can climb to the top of the stairs without falling down. That is works-salvation. God didn't choose us because we were capable on our own. If sanctification were up to us, we'd all be piled up at the bottom of the stairs.
God is faithful, and He fully sanctifies every last one of His chosen, set-apart saints. Count on it! He finishes the job He started!
1Th 5:23-24 "Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."
Php 1:6 "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
Amen Rosemaryx, and Jesus grew in grace and wisdom;
Luke 2:40 "And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with "wisdom, and the grace" of God was on Him."
Psalm 94: 17-19
17) Unless the LORD had been my helper,
I would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
18) If I say, “My foot is slipping,”
Your loving devotion, O LORD, will support me.
19) When anxiety overwhelms me,
Your consolation delights my soul.
This hope is certainly not some wishy washy cross your fingers hope I win the lottery kind of hope. Unlike the english word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope. If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things HOPED for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life (Titus 3:7).All I know is that a salvation that can be lost MUST be maintained by man and what he does or does not do...that takes the emphasis off of Christ, steals HIS glory and places it squarely on the back of man....BY DEFAULT this is what is implied....!!!
The bible does NOT peddle a lottery ticket HOPE, but rather a CONFIDENCE of something GUARANTEED..........it is ETERNAL LIFE, EVERLASTING LIFE not temporal LIFE based upon performance......!!

The Hebrew word means 'missing the mark'. Sin is exactly breaking a command. It is a command given by the All Sovereign and to disobey Him is to earn death. It is no more deep or complicated than that.actions you need to do- accept the Biblical definition of sin, so then you can properly access if you are doing the things we are supposed to do and not doing the things we are not supposed to do.
sin is way beyond " breaking a command"....
Is being a Calvinist so terrible? I mean it is what the Bible teaches.........yes if yu see what i said about it too.
but if God maintains it then what of our free will, are we calvinists?
Is being a Calvinist so terrible? I mean it is what the Bible teaches.........
Well, at least three of the five points are.
Yeah, I kinda figured you wouldn't have the integrity to apologize.
And as far as the fruit inspecting stuff - sure. I do relish calling out hypocrites who love to judge people for sinning when they themselves sin every single day. At least I admit I sin every day - by either thought, word, or deed. Which makes me even more dependent of Jesus. And I do love calling out people who insist that if one does not work, they will lose their salvation - when they themselves can't give any specifics as to how much work or how often it's required. Those who live for nothing less than to put the heavy yoke of the Law back on believers. Hypocrites, Judaizers, and Pharisees all.
The hypocrisy of some poeple. .
If it doesnt influence the salvation at all, hey, why not? You're only gonna lose some rewards
When its all said and done, the modern version of OSAS is predicted in the Bible and is unheard of in Church history, they could not even fathom such an idea.
A Christian named Irenaeus lived during the 2nd century A.D. (130-202). He wrote a book titled, “Against Heresies” in which he called attention to this particular fact. In this work (Book I Chapter 6) he said the following regarding Gnostic teaching:
But as to themselves, they hold that they shall be entirely and undoubtedly saved, not by means of conduct, but because they are spiritual by nature. For, just as it is impossible that material substance should partake of salvation (since, indeed, they maintain that it is incapable of receiving it), so again it is impossible that spiritual substance (by which they mean themselves) should ever come under the power of corruption, whatever the sort of actions in which they indulged. For even as gold, when submersed in filth, loses not on that account its beauty, but retains its own native qualities, the filth having no power to injure the gold, so they affirm that they cannot in any measure suffer hurt, or lose their spiritual substance, whatever the material actions in which they may be involved.
Wherefore also it comes to pass, that the “most perfect” among them addict themselves without fear to all those kinds of forbidden deeds of which the Scriptures assure us that “they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
And committing many other abominations and impieties, they run us down (who from the fear of God guard against sinning even in thought or word) as utterly contemptible and ignorant persons, while they highly exalt themselves, and claim to be perfect, and the elect seed. SOURCE
Compare this to what you hear from many of the pulpits today. Its like Peter predicted, Paul's writings wrested and twisted. Who would be the one bringing in false security and encouraging people to not repent by telling them they are okay if they believe in Jesus, positionally righteous while getting drunk regularly? Look at the fruits of easy believism that we have today, cant tell the difference between professing christians and the world.
Not in here for a debate, truth has already set me free. Once the Son sets you free you shall be free indeed. Just here to post my view, as many from the opposing side have also. -> I got no problem with any OSAS-believers, if they are in the faith, they are my brothers and sisters, no matter what theology they believe. <-
Hardly. It just proves your lack of control.
.
When I asked you specifically if what you said applied to me and you said it applied to everyone.
