I never climbed into a baptistery..,, I prefered the lake but it was a different experience from being baptized with the Holy spirit..,one is God's acceptance into His family.., the other is our acceptance of God's people and our service to them.
I agree, but I would encourage you to follow thru anyhow. It is one of the steps of our Walk in Christ. Passing through Nebraska, this summer, I will Baptize you if you want? How does the Platte River sound to you?

Let's go through this one step at a time. I agree with you.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Faith without works is dead.
Therefore no works no faith.
The concept is when a person receives Christ they will desire to produce works. I have seen this in action. A new convert has a great desire to share their faith. Makes those of us that have a long history of salvation a bit ashamed of our loss of that strong desire.
The word back then I found was a different word than you found and was a synonym of the one you found.
You are not understanding history of the Bible. The writings of it were completed as you say. But they were sent various places and possibly a few had all of them. It took Constantine to have them copied, put with the Old Testament and sent as a package to the elders. That was the first time the whole Bible was put together in one package.

You seem to ignore the fact that a copy of the Bible was exceedingly expensive. It took a scribe a long time to copy the Bible especially with the procedures to prevent errors. Only a few had one and many people were illiterate. Creeds were a way to help spread the gospel since they were short enough to easily memorize. They taught the basic faith and fought Gnosticism.
Why do you ignore this history. You rant like the Bible was as everywhere like today. Not the case.

One is the things of God not seen, the eternal, the other the things of men seen, the temporal. No comparison we walk by faith the unseen .
The things of men offend the things of God.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.2 Cor 4:18

I always have interpreted baptism as following Jesus in obedience to God the Father Who said, "This is My Son in Whom I am Well Pleased" after Jesus' baptism of immersion by John the Baptist. Secondly, as a public confession of Jesus as Lord and Savior.
To me, baptism doesn't fall in either realm: being necessary for salvation or as a work; but rather, a simple act of obedience.

Yes it is a free gift according to Christ's three day work of faith or labor of His Love.This is not of our own selves as works we can do but is a work that he has finished, the faith of God without the works of God is dead nothing produces nothing, faith provides the will to move.
Yes works he works in us, with us to both will and do His good pleasure... called a imputed righteousness. We can do nothing apart from Him working in us .
It is God who makes men different from one another What does any new creature in Christ have that they did not freely received.?And if they did freely receive it.. why would they boast as if they did not?
I see that a little differently sort of like turning things upside down. It's something that the apostate Jews that where not born again performed turning things up side down as if we walked by sight the things seen rather than faith the unseen .The work cannot say to Him who made it he made me not .That would take away the understanding of His faith (the unseen) and give it to the earthen clay he form Christ in (not of)
Isaiah 29:16Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
In all cases God our faithful Creator must do the "first works". Eternal life is the gift as the reward of Christ's work that releases us form the eternal wage of sin.
Works are part of that faith or labor of Love. Christ is the rewarder as the one who pays the wages.
Without his daily work our daily bread working in us no man could please Him not seen
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God(not seen) must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Hebrews 11:6
No man of his own volition can seek Him who has no form.

The only people who refuse to admit doctrinal error are those who in pride are bound down in a religious creed.....this argument that the word for WASHING feet is and or can be the mode of baptism is false, foolish, flat denies the above facts, truth of the word, the mode of baptism and the representation of baptism which is death, burial and COMING UP FROM THE GROUND A NEW CREATION!
